Once the shipping label is printed, how far in the future can I wait before I actually ship?
Canada Post shipping labels do not expire. All shipping labels paid for and printed from their website do not expire as long as it is printed (or downloaded locally) within the 5 days otherwise the label will not be available on the website anymore. Once printed there is no expiration date. That is why there is no mention of shipping label expiration dates on checkout nor within the website FAQ. They do reuse inactive tracking #'s so It's possible if you wait too long that you will get notification on their tracking that states "multiple pin" or something along those lines. Still ships and gets to the destination and there is no extra charge. It's unfortunately an internal issue that they can't override. They do suggest that you ship as soon as possible, but again no expiration!! 🩷

USPS doesn't make you create a business account. It's for everyone that uses Priority Mail service. Multiple sized boxes totally free.

They will re-offer it in October but the account is free year round and the supplies as well!
Hi Stephanie! Quick question..How can we get a label for future use? or Does the label need to be used on that Tuesday?
Hey Lee! So the way I use labels for future is by maxing out the label dimensions which is 41 cm by 30 cm by 20 cm and the max weight of 5 kg. Then I go on the hunt to find a box that fits that measurement (or smaller) and I hope the item I want to ship to whomever it is will fit inside the box. Otherwise I have to pay for a label 🫠 I use the pre-printed labels to ship items to family and friends so it's not beneficial for a business standpoint unless you had an order on the ready the night before. It must be claimed today by 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time.
It does not need to be shipped on that day, but the label has to be created, downloaded and saved to a device so that you can print it at a future time. Or print it out so you don't forget 🫣 because the online labels do expire after 5 days but they are still able to be used beyond that

I believe you mean the customer number required @ 1:25 -- If you don't have a customer number or you already have a Canada Post account but you don't believe it's connected to a small business account, the best option is to use a different email address and create a small business account as it were brand new. Following along from 1:37 🙂

If you have an online business, can you ship with a poly mailer? Also, do you know if Big cartel uses Canada post or would it only be Shopify?
Yes, you can ship with poly mailers with Canada Post, I'm not familiar with the other platforms unfortunately 😔
I’m just seeing this video today which Nov. 1 I wanted to know is it for the month of October only ? And is it the whole month or just one day ? I mean the free shipping? Thank you

Are the free supplies still valid? Made a canada post account and followed the steps but don't see any free supplies anymore :(
For some reason they have hidden them a little bit, once you are signed into your business account and click on the top drop down menu, under that click SHOP, then you click mailing and shipping, and finally you click on shipping supplies. Now the free shipping supplies are going to be right at the bottom or onto the second page of the shipping supplies. This is limited to adhesive label envelopes, parcel specific stickers, etc. It will not include any poly mailers, boxes or paper. I hope that helps 🩷
Thank you for the response!! I tried that as well and couldn't find anything..I called Canada Post and apparently they are saying there won't be anymore free shipping supplies for this year and will have to wait now until next year@@Stephanieescate
I just double checked and I was able to find the items mentioned above (for example Product # 533086593 for adhesive label envelopes) and they are available year round, not just October. I know that there is specific verbiage and oftentimes it confuses the Canada Post employees as to what you're asking for. It is concerning that you were given that response because I know that people have called and ordered them that way as long as you have your small business number.

They asking for canada post customer number to create a business account. A number that they never give you when you create a new account wtf.
I dont understand I sing in as a small business I guess.. but I dont get any discount so insane...to ship a hat from ottawa to Edmonton it cost me 30 dollar what in the actual f.. it's that's the price of my hats... impossible to make money in this country... why I born here it's insane.. by the way the hat it's 300 grams... and you paying 20 for a 5kilograms box like wtf. I wont sell my hats for 60 dollars to have some profit no one will pay that much how come this big company's like nike has good benefits like 7 dollar shipping why we don't have that benefits as small business... so sad... this really makes me sad asf can't start my business with those insane rates😪😪
