Increasing the price slightly might be a good idea. It really depends on how dedicated your customers are. We have a vending machine at our school and after the pandemic hit people started buying things like crazy. I met the guy who runs the machine he was really nice. You guys should consider putting a machine inside a school. It would probably be a big hit!

true, when I was in school there were vending machines and they would get wiped out so fast. Like I couldnt even get a drink I wanted cause everything was empty lol
I own a machine with a buddy and we try and keep our margins >60%. I would say you guys should definitely increase your prices.
We’re in Canada and we pay about 50-65 cents for cans of drinks and sell them for $2.00-$2.25. Most of our products are like this. Water is killer!! just over $4.00 for a case of 40 and selling them for $1.50 each (93.3% margin).
There’s a lot of behind the scenes costs that unless you’re running the machine you don’t know about (not just the cost for inventory) so personally, I would say you guys should increase your prices for your own benefit.

To be honest, the amount of money you make per thing sold is a ton so I think that with the amount of sales you get there is no need to up the price

Honestly raising all sodas and drinks to $1.75 or $1.80 would be ideal. Most places they’re at minimum $2 or $2.25, so you’d still have a good buy as a customer, while you the owner can increase your profit margins a bit more.

I say keep your pop prices the way they are now,. Inflation is so high right now. I live on disability and I do not even qualify for food stamps. So I hope you keep your prices the same. I realize you guys have to make money too. I think you make a nice profit on your other snacks. I hope everything works great for you two. Can't give you much input on the price increase. Depends on the area I'd think. Prices in my area have gone up almost 50 cents for every vending machines. Kind of sucks.

Quick comment on a new type of drink! The strawberry lemonade that was really close to the Dr Pepper in the video is absolutely wonderful! I love the content! As far as the price differential, here is my suggestion. Your Pepsi products that gravitate towards 24oz should definitely be bumped up to $2 each. It makes no sense to have a machine with several 16 oz and one or two 24oz bottles at a higher price. So grouping these together would be a much better experience for the customer. And I almost never see cans for $0.75 anymore. Those should bump up to $1!

Might be a good idea to take all of them up to $1.75 each. That's still low compared to other vendors. But I think that keeping them at even cost across the board is a best, bc ppl aren't going to understand the price difference, but will see it as unfair that the one they want is more. Most ppl won't do the math.
Ok I love how you all try the keys. An easy fix to that would be go to the cosmetic section in Wally World. Buy some different color fingernail polish paint the key and a couple dabs on lock or top corner on the side of machine. You’ll get it the 1st try every time. I did this when I worked on a vending route. Rodney
