@@simono.sniper3214 I'm extremely jealous! I was 14 when The Division Bell was released. Hence, a little too young to go to a Floyd concert. I have seen Roger, twice, though. The Wall in 2012 and Us+Them in 2017. They were both spiritual experiences for me.

@@dextermorgan1 You got it, bro. That's what happens! I had tears running down my face for the first half hour of every concert I've seen. Earls Court, 1980, The Wall, LA Coliseum, 1987 for Momentary Lapse of Reason and the Rose Bowl in California for Division Bell, 1994 I think. Enjoy the journey. I have!

@@simono.sniper3214 You sir, have been fortunate enough to see greatness multiple times. That's freaking awesome! I am listening to the Endless River as we speak. It breaks my heart knowing we'll never have another REAL Pink Floyd show again. I would go see Nick, too, but their earlier catalog is my least favorite of their music. I am planning to go see Roger again when he tours "This is Not a Drill" next summer. I wish David would come to the East Coast of the US. I'd be there even if I had to mortgage my house for tickets! Lol

Even David Gilmour won't agree with your statement, there is no best guitarist, music has many great guitarists and all of them are great for being unique in their own way and sharing their art with the world, David is one of those guys, but choosing one of them and saying he's better than all the rest .... meh

It's my opinion that David can express, by spirit and emotion, in few notes something that other guitarists use the entire fretboard to try to convey. His humble and gentle ways, never showboating or flaunting his talent, fame or riches, make him the respected man he began to develop decades ago and continues to this day.

David Gilmour is not just a great guitarist and musician. At the same time, he is a person who teaches us ethical values best. He is a big hearted person who can even donate black starat to fight global warming and climate change. We take him as an example. We all dream of being an artist like him. We love you so much David.

I grew up with your music since age 10 back in Tehran, Iran, and remember the biggest wish in my life was to see Pink Floyd (and David Gilmour in particular) live! I wished for Pink Floyd to perform a live concert in Tehran in Aryamehr 100,000 people capacity Football stadium, but the country was destroyed by an Islamic revolution in 1979 and my dream never came true! I can honestly say Pink Floyd's music inspired, educated & guided me (and perhaps a hundred thousand Iranians like me to escape the new so-called Islamic Republic, an occupying tyranny to seek Freedom in the West! I escaped to Western Europe at age 16 and eventually to the US. Now over 4 decades every song in every album of Pink Floyd plays a bittersweet memory of the past in my soul and moves me to tears. I spend so much time listening to David as well as watching videos. Watching and listening to his music takes me back to some wonderful just simple times. Waiting for that next Pink Floyd album to come out. We are so lucky to have David with us still making music. I know it’s very difficult to do a big giant production. How about you do a tour with just acoustic guitars. I can’t stand the thought that I do not have a David Gilmour show in my future ever again. Thanks for all the incredible music.

That feels exactly how I feel too. I have and still spend hours listening to the great man. Who I have immense respect for as an elite musician. And as a human being. Hopefully people will understand when I say that I absolutely love the man. Great to hear your thoughts mate.

For quite a few years while he was still touring - David Gilmour often referred to it as "schlepping around" - and it was clear he had grown quite weary of it - which is not difficult to imagine when you think about how many years he did global tours - with PF and as a solo artist.
At this point - we might still get the occasional one-off show - a single benefit performance of some kind in England - or maybe elsewhere - but his days of long haul touring are probably behind him.

Honestly as a younger fan, I'm ok with his perspective. The man has put his time in regarding touring and performing. Plus I'd assume that like any band/musicians of his calibre. It's a whole organisational process. Lots of gears and cogs have to be figured out. He can't just hop on a plane and play wherever y'know? 😅 Ha ha ha.

What a treat hearing you play again in this legendary location Mr. Gilmour! I still haven’t heard anyone play guitar better than you or better production than “Echoes at Pompeii”.
I have been listening to you for 40 years and will never forget first time I heard the sound of your guitar as 8 year old in awe of the emotions it evoked in me.
This is what I heard your guitar say to me in this solo you played for us.
** I Came back here to do what I always wanted to
Paint this theatre in colours new
Let my voice Enchant all of you
In first performance after millennia or two
Hearing echoes in my soul engraved in submarine blue…**
    Love and light 🌎

The nostalgy must have been breath taking, looking back and realizing years flew by and then, there he is, standing right there, watching the exact spot he and his freinds once stepped to perform, in my opinion, the best and most magical performance of all time... It gave me goosebumps.
