Glosses are never that pigmented to show up on the lips and specially black ones they transfer mostly the way it did on your lips it mostly gives a change of tone

Who told you? I can name atleast 3 brands who have made intensely black lipglosses. My whole point is don’t market a gloss as “black” if it is not looking black, simple.

You should have applied it over a black lipstick shade to give that gloss effect on matte lipstick and not on raw lips

No instructions is written like that on the product, it is a colored gloss which is marketed as Black! So it obviously needs to have some black pigment. There are many brands which have black lip glosses and which look black no matter the base on lips!
