- Can we play 9 different scales in one single guitar solo? Yes we can! In this crystal clear video I’ll show you how to come up with a chord progression that is perfect for a guitar solo using 9 different scales and still sounds musical and logical. I’ll use modes (like phrygian, Locrian, Dorian and Lydian) other scales (like harmonic minor, diminished scale, dominant pentatonic scale and altered scale) to create an interesting harmonic landscape. You’ll learn how to glue chords from different keys together as a logical progression with common notes and I’ll do a crystal clear breakdown of the guitar solo in this 10 minutes “modulation extravaganza” video!

How about turn it around a bit. How many scales can you put in fewest possible chords? And take the A minor as in this video.

I see the AmMaj9 that you have labeled but don't you have and AmMaj7add9 in the diagram? I'm curious in case I see this written this way, should I always assume the 7th?
Indeed
If the 7th degree and 9th degree is present in a chord, then it is an extended chord and not a "added-tone" chord.
So C-E-G-B-D is a Cmaj9 chord and C-E-G-D is a Cadd9 chord
The minor-major 7 chord is determined by the minor 3rd and major 7rh degree, so the 7th has to be present and therefor it can't be an added-tone chord.
