don quixote is seriously an inspiration, truly seeing things in more of an idealistic sense, but once he's matured he sees things more realistically. i feel this on a personal level.

I kinda get it why he's like that. It was purely a design choice, to make him more hilarious, wholesome, tragic and underdog. When you see this small old man trying his fucking best to protect his fair lady and his ideal, you must be really heartless to not root for him.

From what I've been able to gather in lore, sancho might be the Duke maid that quijote once allucinated as dulcinea, charmed by his chivalry and passion from knight tales, she fell in love with him and decided to acompanny the knight so that she can rewrite his delirium into adventures, whilst the Don himself was too diluted and saw her as both his beautiful princess and trusty sidekick

One funny thing I want to tell you guys, today I asked my grandmother about Sancho panza. So since she knew about it, and said so many amazing things. I showed the character at first she was surprised and kind of disgusted the same way I was when I saw my favorite historical figures and characters turned into females. However after explaining to her how fate works, telling her that lore of these characters depict them as their original self however the appearance of the character in the game looks different mostly for enjoyment. She began to understand that anime isn’t supposed to be realistic however just because the appearance and personality might look different doesn’t mean it isn’t the same person. While also telling her that none of this is supposed to be offensive in any other way. It’s fantasy’s and when it comes to fantasy nothing needs to make sense. Again my abuela, is a old women who lived in Cuba her entire life. Since Cuba isn’t like America she’s not going to understand that much. Trust me I was the same as her however as soon as I started to understand what they were doing here all that confusion and anger started to turn into enjoyment but I can see why allot of people don’t like it. Fate is a game all about patience just like many things in fantasy. But fate does something not allot of series in general do. It makes people want to know more about the real person regardless whether the personality looks atrocious or not. @@kendiaz89 Because Don Quixote is the name of the book in addition to the alias of the main character, it's very likely that this servant is the manifestation of the entire book; Don Quixote, rather than just the character. Probably because Don Quixote doesn't actually accomplish anything noteworthy in the story, despite it being about him. So all the other characters had to be tacked on and create "Sancho" so he'd manifest properly as a Heroic Spirit. This would also include the author, since they were the creator of all these characters. Like how Shakespeare or Andersen became Servants.

I still remember when I had to do an essay back in high school. I did have a hard time reading Don Quixote, so I went with the audiobook version instead. I enjoyed it a lot, since the narrator went really hard with every word spoken.
I have to say that I love Don Quixote's first ascension with that splendid golden armor and helmet; it looks similar to the ones worn by the Custodes of Warhammer 40k. Quixote and Sancho's dynamic kinda becomes hilarious when you realize they voice Kamille Bidan and Fa Yuiry (her 2nd VA in the New Translation movies anyway) of Zeta Gundam fame lol
Shame that, as of his promo for Hathaway's Flash, Nobuo Tobita can't seem to naturally sound like teenage Kamille anymore. Age and doing deep voices does that to you. He'd work perfectly as a post-CCA Kamile, though.
I find it amusing that though "Sancho" is basically Rocinante acting as Sancho and given the form of a beauty worthy of being "Dulcinea", i.e. a fusion of all three, the Grail, Marie, and Red Hare lines indicate old Alonso can't seem to register the fact that "Sancho" is also Dulcinea and Rocinante here, even when she outright says she's part-Rocinante. Also, Satomi Arai is yet again a cute maid, though less formal more chipper than Sayoko Shinozaki

Also the characters dialogue, it sound exactly like the original character, i love the way Fate makes these characters and while the appearance might be off their dialogue and them in general sound exactly like the original character or person.
I see this Don Quixote is based off the idealistic hero (who I adore) of Man La Mancha more than the book version whom many actually attribute a degree of malice to the actions of (Not actually caring about chivalry but the bounty it brings)
It's funny how Fate portrays Don Quixote and Sancho Panzo. In the book, Quixote is the tall and thin one, while Sancho is the short and squat one. In this case, it was reversed. Maybe they did it that way because it shows how delusional Don Quixote was; he thought he was the epitome of knights, gallantly tall and not an ounce of fat on him, when in reality it was the opposite. Even though the physical description was originally Cervantes', inverting it makes it that more interesting.
I'm shocked that Don Quixote doesn't have any voice lines regarding the Knights of the Round Table. Oh well. That aside, I like the design choice for him, he looks like Arthur from Ghost&Goblins.

I think its best for Sancho/Dulcinea not to read the actual novel of Don Quixote given how depressing it its(at least for me). Also damn can she be blunt like calling out Charlie's Paladins as weirdoes granted Astolfo and Roland help give that image.
They already know. By the last ascencions, Don is pretty aware of his condition, but he continues to move on, even though he's still frail old man, he wouldn't let himself fail again. For his lady and his ideal.
Being a weirdo helps make Astolfo the hero he is! He's chivalrous to a fault, risking himself for the sake of doing right without a second thought. And Roland... from what I can surmise, this Roland represents his partly-crazed state _shortly_ after going mad. Even at this point while he was pursuing Angelica, however, he still went completely out of his way to help those in need. At the point where he'd be summoned as Berserker instead of Saber he'd be mostly naked, completely feral, and swinging a tree around like a club. They're weirdos, but we like them that way!

I'm surprised he didn't get quotes regarding other knights, like the various Artorias or the other Knights of the Round Table.
I am very grateful that they have implemented a character from Spanish literature, and even more so since it belongs to Spain, it leaves me a little perplexed that Sancho is a slender woman and not the chubby character and that Don Quixote is so short, being in literature a tall and very thin person, but I am happy with the implementation of the character

@@luizhenrique4967 helps that said by being a fusion of her, Sancho, Rocinante, and Altisidora, Don Quixote now has a REAL Dulcinea that is faithfully supporting him the whole time, even if he somehow can't register this woman as anyone else but as Sancho.
Would have been great if they added Lines referring not only the Paladins but also Constantine, Sigurd and Siegfried since they're also counted as Knights in their fairy tales.

Sancho is like a mix of everyone, the beauty of Dulcinea, the ears and tail from Rosinante, that line about writting about the eccentricities of Don Quijote is in reference to a character that was a self insert by Cervantes (mad lad even self promoted one of his books, in a scene were they were burning Don Quijotes fantasy books, they explicitly don't burn Galatea, one of his books, calling it a masterpiece lmao), but Sancho is the main personality by always being by his side and being the more pragmatic of the two (like calling Charlie's knights a bunch of weirdos, that's some peak Sancho right there)
What, no interaction with the King of the Knights or members of the round table? Now that's just sad. I though he would famboy all over them, especially Artoria or specially Proto Arthur since he is described as the perfect knight.
But just think about it guys this is the first Spanish servant to appear in fate, the only thing we need now is characters like El Cid and so much more, we have too much Roman, Norse, French, English, Chinese, and Japanese Servants. We need more Spanish servants and at least Mongolian Servants like Genghis Khan. But mostly we need more Spanish Servants, because i think its very harsh that these other countries are more loved than Spain or other Spanish Countries. This might seem like a shock to you but Spanish history and culture isnt what you think it is, it isnt boring at all and when i mostly talk about Spannish history and Culture im not talking about the 1500s. Im talking about the Reconquista AKA medieval spain, this is when Spanish people weren't just badasses but true heroes, Heroes that did allot of stuff that others wouldn't do for many reasons. now im not going to go through this huge argument i have with everyone else, but my point is that many things we see in Japanese RPGS for example such as weapons, architecture, and so much more are based or inspired many of the things we see in Spanish history. For example if you would compare Links sword from the Legend of Zelda and El Cids Tizona that was actually used in the battlefield in real life, both have huge differences and similarities. Even many of the figures resemble something you see in an anime character but this isn't just Spanish, this is mostly everyone in general. people are people and when it comes to anime and video game characters (depending on the character of course) they are no different compared to normal people the only difference is the way they talk and act. But then theirs stuff like this, where the characters say what the real person or the real fictional character would say in real life which i find really surprising. Anyway my point is we need more Spanish characters because Spain is one of those countries that Japanese people really like to go to and make creations like these inspired by many of the things they saw. As a Hispanic/American and a lover of things relating to Spanish culture and history i would love to see that

No, the thing is. Only Don Quixote calls her Sancho because he doesn't know that Dulcinea inside the body. Also a facet of reality is inside the body as well, that might be a factor on why he can't realize that Sancho is an amalmagation of other beings.

I'd make him a berserker because he lost all his sanity reading books , but hey, Astolfo doesn't have sanity and he is a rider and a saber. I also love the fact that they included a Spanish character
Technically they didn't quite do it. Sancho here is all of the side characters in the story. The horse, the princess, etc.

@@kendiaz89 Because Don Quixote is the name of the book in addition to the alias of the main character, it's very likely that this servant is the manifestation of the entire book; Don Quixote, rather than just the character. Probably because Don Quixote doesn't actually accomplish anything noteworthy in the story, despite it being about him. So all the other characters had to be tacked on and create "Sancho" so he'd manifest properly as a Heroic Spirit. This would also include the author, since they were the creator of all these characters. Like how Shakespeare or Andersen became Servants.

Also NGL he is one of the stronger servants out there man has reality as his hype man and her NP is literal ANTI MYSTERY he essentially summons the spanish inquisition. plus his ideal are so strong he bends reality over (may have worded it wrong)
Really liking all these duo servants we've been getting lately. Quite a fan of this incarnation of the Don. Very entertaining.

A bit disappointed that there isn't any dialogue for Artoria or the knights of the round table, but I'm really loving this duo!
If I remember correctly, Don Quijote references the kinights of the round table multiple times on his book, so I feel the same way.

As a Latina where Don Quixote is a beloved classic,this brings tears to my eyes.
I still remember when I had to do an essay back in high school. I did have a hard time reading Don Quixote, so I went with the audiobook version instead. I enjoyed it a lot, since the narrator went really hard with every word spoken.
I love Don Quixote dude is literally all I ever wanted him to be.
I have to say that I love Don Quixote's first ascension with that splendid golden armor and helmet; it looks similar to the ones worn by the Custodes of Warhammer 40k.

Quixote and Sancho's dynamic kinda becomes hilarious when you realize they voice Kamille Bidan and Fa Yuiry (her 2nd VA in the New Translation movies anyway) of Zeta Gundam fame lol
Shame that, as of his promo for Hathaway's Flash, Nobuo Tobita can't seem to naturally sound like teenage Kamille anymore. Age and doing deep voices does that to you. He'd work perfectly as a post-CCA Kamile, though.
I find it amusing that though "Sancho" is basically Rocinante acting as Sancho and given the form of a beauty worthy of being "Dulcinea", i.e. a fusion of all three, the Grail, Marie, and Red Hare lines indicate old Alonso can't seem to register the fact that "Sancho" is also Dulcinea and Rocinante here, even when she outright says she's part-Rocinante.
Also, Satomi Arai is yet again a cute maid, though less formal more chipper than Sayoko Shinozaki

Also the characters dialogue, it sound exactly like the original character, i love the way Fate makes these characters and while the appearance might be off their dialogue and them in general sound exactly like the original character or person.
I see this Don Quixote is based off the idealistic hero (who I adore) of Man La Mancha more than the book version whom many actually attribute a degree of malice to the actions of (Not actually caring about chivalry but the bounty it brings)

It's funny how Fate portrays Don Quixote and Sancho Panzo. In the book, Quixote is the tall and thin one, while Sancho is the short and squat one. In this case, it was reversed. Maybe they did it that way because it shows how delusional Don Quixote was; he thought he was the epitome of knights, gallantly tall and not an ounce of fat on him, when in reality it was the opposite. Even though the physical description was originally Cervantes', inverting it makes it that more interesting.

They already know. By the last ascencions, Don is pretty aware of his condition, but he continues to move on, even though he's still frail old man, he wouldn't let himself fail again. For his lady and his ideal.
Being a weirdo helps make Astolfo the hero he is! He's chivalrous to a fault, risking himself for the sake of doing right without a second thought.
And Roland... from what I can surmise, this Roland represents his partly-crazed state _shortly_ after going mad. Even at this point while he was pursuing Angelica, however, he still went completely out of his way to help those in need. At the point where he'd be summoned as Berserker instead of Saber he'd be mostly naked, completely feral, and swinging a tree around like a club.

I am very grateful that they have implemented a character from Spanish literature, and even more so since it belongs to Spain, it leaves me a little perplexed that Sancho is a slender woman and not the chubby character and that Don Quixote is so short, being in literature a tall and very thin person, but I am happy with the implementation of the character
I kinda get it why he's like that. It was purely a design choice, to make him more hilarious, wholesome, tragic and underdog. When you see this small old man trying his fucking best to protect his fair lady and his ideal, you must be really heartless to not root for him.

Sancho is like a mix of everyone, the beauty of Dulcinea, the ears and tail from Rosinante, that line about writting about the eccentricities of Don Quijote is in reference to a character that was a self insert by Cervantes (mad lad even self promoted one of his books, in a scene were they were burning Don Quijotes fantasy books, they explicitly don't burn Galatea, one of his books, calling it a masterpiece lmao), but Sancho is the main personality by always being by his side and being the more pragmatic of the two (like calling Charlie's knights a bunch of weirdos, that's some peak Sancho right there)

What, no interaction with the King of the Knights or members of the round table? Now that's just sad. I though he would famboy all over them, especially Artoria or specially Proto Arthur since he is described as the perfect knight.
But just think about it guys this is the first Spanish servant to appear in fate, the only thing we need now is characters like El Cid and so much more, we have too much Roman, Norse, French, English, Chinese, and Japanese Servants. We need more Spanish servants and at least Mongolian Servants like Genghis Khan. But mostly we need more Spanish Servants, because i think its very harsh that these other countries are more loved than Spain or other Spanish Countries. This might seem like a shock to you but Spanish history and culture isnt what you think it is, it isnt boring at all and when i mostly talk about Spannish history and Culture im not talking about the 1500s. Im talking about the Reconquista AKA medieval spain, this is when Spanish people weren't just badasses but true heroes, Heroes that did allot of stuff that others wouldn't do for many reasons. now im not going to go through this huge argument i have with everyone else, but my point is that many things we see in Japanese RPGS for example such as weapons, architecture, and so much more are based or inspired many of the things we see in Spanish history. For example if you would compare Links sword from the Legend of Zelda and El Cids Tizona that was actually used in the battlefield in real life, both have huge differences and similarities. Even many of the figures resemble something you see in an anime character but this isn't just Spanish, this is mostly everyone in general. people are people and when it comes to anime and video game characters (depending on the character of course) they are no different compared to normal people the only difference is the way they talk and act. But then theirs stuff like this, where the characters say what the real person or the real fictional character would say in real life which i find really surprising. Anyway my point is we need more Spanish characters because Spain is one of those countries that Japanese people really like to go to and make creations like these inspired by many of the things they saw. As a Hispanic/American and a lover of things relating to Spanish culture and history i would love to see that

No, the thing is. Only Don Quixote calls her Sancho because he doesn't know that Dulcinea inside the body. Also a facet of reality is inside the body as well, that might be a factor on why he can't realize that Sancho is an amalmagation of other beings.
