I owned a 1969 Mineral Blue MGC GT bought new while I worked for British Motors of Monterey (California) 1968-1972. 4 Speed Automatic transmission, Webasto sunroof, chrome wire wheels. I miss that car. I currently have a 1963 MGB.
Always loved these cars, Mineral Blue really suits them. Back in 2003 I owned for a short while a Downton Tuned Stage 3 MGC GT. Sounded magnificent and it just showed how they could perform with Downton's improvements - something Abingdon should have done (and not just for the few competition cars they made).
I had a 1968 mineral blue MGC GT back in the 80s. Fabulous car, much underrated.

Absolutely right. There was a lot of potential but MG hadn’t the funding so it was left to specialists like Downton to improve the breed.
