  • This video will introduce the student nurse or the new graduate nurse to fetal heart rate interpretation. This is an overview of the subject and does not substitute for a certification course.
I have created a pocket guide of this presentation that is useful to print and carry to clinic as a reference for both student nurses and new to labor nurses. Available in my Etsy shop famelli.etsy.com/

It was a very clear explanation of fetal heart monitoring. It helped me to understand the interpretation of fetal heart strip and nursing interventions. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.

My teacher who has been the head of the department for many years said this was the best FHR content she's ever seen, which is why I'm here. I thought you'd appreciate that :)

Thank you!! I watched so many videos and none explained how to when to actually count (visualize) Onset - nadir

I’m glad you found it helpful. Two important points, Heart rate Variability is key and uterine resting tone of greater than 60 seconds is needed for adequate refilling of the spiral arteries.

    Couple of suggestions:
VEAL CHOP Describes changes in baseline, not only decels as an accel is not a decel. Also when palpating contractions you should use the "palmar surface" of fingertips as these are most sensitive, not the palm of hand.

Thank you for the suggestions. I often record in 1 take without editing. Sometimes what my brain wants to say is not what comes out of my mouth. Thanks for taking the time to improve the content.
