Man this takes me back! It really feels like a visual representation of one of those guides you would read on the corners of the internet somewhere in 2011-2013 before people knew what souls games were or how they worked and were just trying to progress by any means necessary lol. Respectfully, these methods are sorely outdated by now, but points for the nostalgia!
@@carloviljoen4917 funny thing is with the advent popularity of Elden Ring, there really are many new people to this game, and they are looking for real tips. Especially because this game is more difficult than Elden Ring.
I haven't even started watching and I'm already nostalgic for how I used to start runs back in the day. Cleric, master key, mosey on down to Blighttown to get souls and titanite, grab the great club, power level faith and then get lightning spear before seeing a boss. It'd often end up with sunlight blade great club jump attack spam, lmao. Interested to see how close (or far) this video is from that old habit of mine.
@@UrielUK in order to gain a good pool of players to summon you in for the gargoyle fight, you don't want to really go too much past level 20. Otherwise, there won't be a player base that is an appropriate level to summon you in, but obviously, once you have gotten access to rank one warriors of sunlight then go ham on leveling. Also, yeah, I meant faith. Thanks for the heads up and the great question!
I'm not trying to be rude but a lot of what you're suggesting just isn't worth the time. The Astoria straight sword isn't a very high damage weapon, the armor you suggest getting is out-classed by many other armors, the drake sword falls off after gargoyles and is just a waste of time to get. If you are going to make a point of going to blight town early the reason to go is get power within and the chloranthy ring. The mace is a better weapon than both the Astora straight sword and the drake sword as with some levels it out damages and levels up with more widely available upgrade materials. If your goal is to make an op cleric the three best early game options that don't rely on the random chance of bkh are to get the gravelord great sword, great scythe, uchigatana, the club by the rock throwing enemies, zweihander, or claymore. You can even kill Mildred early and get the cleaver which is still better than both the Astora straight sword or the drake sword. Stats wise vitality is a useful stat but early on it is kind of a waste and you are better off leveling up your damaging stats as they will provide you better utility early on. Leveling up faith early also allows you to grab lighting spear earlier which helps out more with gargoyles than anything else you suggested. You kind of just suggested a lot of noob trap things. Hope this helps in the future
@@Volkoron I disagree as this is a really good way to get an early game jump on things without having to level pretty much anything up. Your suggesting to use regular weapons that have to be leveled up with upgrade materials that you don't have access to. If you want to see where I take this character then check out the live stream replay where I actually detail it more in full, and I think that you would better appreciate that because I don't really use the Drake sword or the AS sword past the first episode. It's just a measure of being able to get really good damaging weapons without too much stat investment and being able to gain access to the great lightning spear which is your primary source of delivering damage. Cuz if you level up too much you're not going to have access to a good pool of players to summon you. Also you can check out my best early game weapons for which I explicitly talk about not using the swords you mentioned past early game.
I don't know how to say it and honestly i don't want to be harsh but this was one of the most inefficient and bad runs i saw. If you want a good faith start please check the miracles only run from the backlogs or maybe ymfah's full miracle run. good luck in your future endeavors.
@@moncefbahari4174 @moncefbahari4174 well, I guess I disagree. This is a great way to get Great Lightning Spear as well as showing how to access several great weapons and gear early on.
@@DungeonMasterElite alright i'll just list some of the worst mistakes then : The drake sword is a terrible weapon made to trick new players Rtsr is useless in a faith build You need 25 faith to join the sunlight warriors BUT every sun medal reduces that by one and in offline early game you can get 5 easily without multiplayer (so no level limit to get a large pool of summons) Waking up the undead dragon is not a problem because there's a ledge on the mountain where he can't attack Crossbows are bad in ds1 so no use in taking them. You can clear most of the early game with morning star or lightning spear You can buy force from petris and get gravelord sword dance early + kill pinwheel and get the darkmoon seance ring Etc etc etc
@@moncefbahari4174 @moncefbahari4174 this is an early way to get a pure Faith build set up for the early game without having to go through a bunch of bosses. The Drake sword is only really meant for early game to at the very latest mid-game and I make that pretty clear. Plus, for a pure Faith build you get really good damage super early in the game and that can pretty much sustain you for quite some time. Not to mention that if you're going a pure Faith build (even a Dex/Faith build) the gravelord sword really isn't viable for you. I think the thing that you're missing is that the main focus for attack on this build is Great Lightning Spear, and I show how to get it as early as possible. Sorry if you disagree, but if you still do, perhaps you should post a video showcasing how you think Pure Faith builds should start the game.
For some reason I feel like I'm watching an ING IGN official tutorial of Dark Souls: Prepare to Die edition from when Dark Souls 1 came out.
@@AnikiSkywrestler I hope that's a good thing?
