If i am to based on this TH-camr logics, it seems like countries with high operational cost and high salary due to strong exchange rate can never be success. If Malaysia can only be beat other countries out there with low cost, I would like to ask when will we Malaysians can earn high income and live high quality lifestyle like those first world countries out there.

Cannot lah. This guy talk nonsense. Malaysians are not like mainland Chinese. Malaysians literacy rates are lower, education level lower, lack of initiatives and drive. No enterprise accept milking Singaporeans going to Johor for leisure. Cannot even come up with proper comparison.
Shenzhen has DJI, BYD, Huawei, China Ping An, Tencent, Insta360, etc. The development is not just about Shenzhen, you should also look at the development of the Greater Bay Area with 55,800 km2 and population of 86.6 millions.
Johor only got a lot of water and electricity to offer for environmentally devastating data centres. Kind of dumb to compare.

Investors value stability. Singapore just had her 4th PM. In less than 60 years (or over 60 years if you count from self-government). How many PMs has Malaysia had in the last 6 years? That speaks to political stability. Without stability, no city can become a financial/investment hub.
Every (working) morning about 300,000 Malaysians cross into Singapore. The Rapid Train System (?) will move 10,000 people per hour. So from 5 am (if the RTS operates that early) to 9 am, it would move 40,000 people from Johor to Singapore. Leaving 260,000 to continue to struggle to get thru the checkpoint. The RTS seems to be an inadequate solution. That speaks to Johor's/Malaysia planning and execution ability.
A real solution would be for passport free travel between Johor and Singapore. This would reduce the checkpoint congestion/bottleneck. But that raises a host of other legal and logistic questions.
But assuming these questions are resolved or mitigated, I can see land-starved Singapore businesses crossing the Causeway to set up offices, factories, nursing homes, hospitals, aged care facilities in Johor. And part of the congestion of Malaysians crossing into Singapore will be reduced as many of them would now be working in Singapore businesses operating in Johor.
But if Johor wants to be richer than Singapore, it needs to steal the financial services and investments from Singapore. Singapore took decades to build our trust and reputation so investors and Family Offices chose to set up offices in Singapore. Does Johor have that reputation?

Shenzhen had the backing and political capital of Beijing, financially backed by Shanghai, and FDI from all over the world due to china being the factory of the world.
This means, KL needs to have a strong political centre (currently quite fragmented), FDI seems to be growing under Anwar, stabilising the Ringgit. Then Malaysia has to be the manufacturing hub of ASEAN. This would lay the groundwork for JB being the next Shenzhen. Otherwise, Singapore can always play ball with Indonesia or other ASEAN players.
Lastly, Singapore's GDP is not just larger than Johor, it is larger than the entire Malaysia. Who knows what Malaysia is doing with all the resources under its disposal. Whereas at its peak, HK's GDP was 1/4 of China's. China still was able to pull its weight over HK. Singapore is already doing better than all of Malaysia, why does it need a Shenzhen?

Singapore is already running out of land and must resort to playing Tetris whenever they need to build something. Without land, Singapore's GDP will be stagnant in the future as growth is difficult for businesses without any expansion. This is why Singapore must reclaim land in order to keep up with demands. @@justscanningby9902 Singapore is surrounded by Malaysia up north and Indonesia down south. There's only a limited space for land reclamation before Singapore reaches into other country's territorial waters. It also does not help that both Malaysia and Indonesia have banned exporting sand to Singapore and the project will be very costly. Singapore's weakness has always been its small size and reclamation can only do so much

Johoreans work in Singapore, earn SGD,

This is how Johoreans will appear richer than Singaporeans. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Malaysia has been in the middle income trap for decades. Failed or white elephant projects or policies, aplenty. Lots of very good blueprints for the future but I think they mostly failed to be realised due to poor execution. Wawasan 2020 is a notable example.
Doubt they would ever amount to anything but a big hinterland for Singapore.

I hope so. As a Singaporean, I'm all for Malaysia, becoming a country with a stronger currency. How that's actually achieved is beyond my humble normal intelligence. I can't say how it'll effect ASEAN financial relationships or the destabilising of currency or economic balances. I'm however all for people bettering their life situations and living a decent life. I have confidence Singapore too will rise up to any challenges when it comes.

Imagine all those who are living north can become Singaporeans. Enjoy racial and religious harmony. Use the Global No. 1 passport. Lee Kuan Yew always thought we are together as one until SG was told to get out. If we are together as one nation, there is much to gain. Of course, provided the whole country is governed by the incumbent Singapore government. Capable and principled leaders from the north can also be part of the new government. U should said Malaysia will be richer than Singapore but it doesn't happen after more than 6 decades.
Maybe you should compare Ireland, Norway and Luxembourg with Singapore with highest GDP per capita, Indonesia as the largest economy in ASEAN and will be the next Russian and Malaysia as middle size economy with comparison like Greece and Portugal. This make more sense.
Johor bordering Singapore will not make any difference but definitely there is economy spillover.
I dent see any logic behind this, even though Johor had a some mega project like Tanjung Pelepas Port, Pengerang refinery, Legoland and Iskandar but it doesn't happen.

For custom/immigration using QR code, it only eliminate the job of the immigration officer/the person crossing the border to scan the passport. Beyond that everything else is still the same. Maybe can save a few second/pax?
As for congestion, it is NOT about public transport, car or bike. The bottleneck is the IMMIGRATION. Which is why people queue up for hours at immigration even though they take public transport.
So will the RTS help? Not really if immigration cannot process 10,000 pax in an hour. And if immigration can process 10,000 pax/hour today, then we don't need a RTS already.
While we always compare Shenzhen with JB, most people failed to realized that JB and SG is actually 2 different countries with different set of laws and have a strict border. So the comparison is actually not valid.
