Singapore is already running out of land and must resort to playing Tetris whenever they need to build something. Without land, Singapore's GDP will be stagnant in the future as growth is difficult for businesses without any expansion. This is why Singapore must reclaim land in order to keep up with demands. The cheaper alternative is for businesses to expand in Johor for operations while the HQ is based in Singapore, hence, why JS-SEZ is inevitable.

U should said Malaysia will be richer than Singapore but it doesn't happen after more than 6 decades. Maybe you should compare Ireland, Norway and Luxembourg with Singapore with highest GDP per capita, Indonesia as the largest economy in ASEAN and will be the next Russian and Malaysia as middle size economy with comparison like Greece and Portugal. This make more sense. Johor bordering Singapore will not make any difference but definitely there is economy spillover. I dent see any logic behind this, even though Johor had a some mega project like Tanjung Pelepas Port, Pengerang refinery, Legoland and Iskandar but it doesn't happen.
For custom/immigration using QR code, it only eliminate the job of the immigration officer/the person crossing the border to scan the passport. Beyond that everything else is still the same. Maybe can save a few second/pax? As for congestion, it is NOT about public transport, car or bike. The bottleneck is the IMMIGRATION. Which is why people queue up for hours at immigration even though they take public transport. So will the RTS help? Not really if immigration cannot process 10,000 pax in an hour. And if immigration can process 10,000 pax/hour today, then we don't need a RTS already. While we always compare Shenzhen with JB, most people failed to realized that JB and SG is actually 2 different countries with different set of laws and have a strict border. So the comparison is actually not valid.

Ziet, can you make a video on early retirement for Malaysian? e.g. how much do we need, where to invest the retirement fund and how much to withdraw without worrying fund will be drained, etc.
I say no. Also dont take SZ as an example. Why? Malaysian Malaysia. Remember why Singapore was kicked out of the federation. Johor got rich due much to Singapore's prosperity. So how long can this prosperity last? These 2 alone, when coupling, means Johor cannot outperform. Unless Malaysia politics situation alters significantly. The Anwar administration may be the beginning, if certain conditions are...
Lets be honest. If u want JB to prosper n vibrant like Shenzhen, firstly u need chinese to run the government, not Malay. If Malaysia doesn't allow Chinese to run the country, u can forget about this dream.
Look at their bumi business policy, flip flop laws, policies n racism. Want to be the next Shenzhen? Dream on my friend.
no , by now , no more problem , all are Malaysian ,
not much of problem by 21st century ...
@@bencyber8595 you are dreaming 😂. Cina mudah lupa....... Apa lagi Cina mau??
you probably forgot perlis, Kedah, kelantan, trengganu and pahang are a part of Malaysia 😂.
the only non racist place in Malaysia is Sarawak. Sabah is gone cos Umno has branches there already...
Since independent they continue day dream
Thanks for the info and effort @ziet ! Johor indeed has potential for growth, as you laid out, though comparing it to Singapore is quite a stretch.
Also, don't take the negative comments too personally-everyone has opinions, and, just like armpits, everyone has a couple, and some stink more than others. Cheers! 😆"
johor will be very rich if become independent country.
So many salty Singaporeans in the comments…don’t worry guys, you will always win. Malaysia can never compete against ur cost of living 😅
It is very difficult to compare. Don’t forget even if that is 1 country 2 system. It still belong to 1 country, 1 government to make decisions. Compare to sg and johor no matter what it is still 2 country with different government different system. Just look at the VEP, just a car system it took such a huge amount of effort to make it happen. Even after it is implemented, there are still so many issue. 😅
Cannot even manage simple police, immigration corruption, VEP and HSR issues, still dream of flying. 😂
SINGAPORE DONT WANTS TO SIGN MOU....DISADVANTAGE...
As long NOT many stupid Singaporeans will spend on buying Malaysiam properties than Johor will not be richer than Singapore. Because buying luxury housing in JB is draining Singapore's savings as most of their money will be stuck in them.
No land no problem. Reclaim. Monaco has been doing this for hundreds of years. Not only Monaco, but Hongkong Macao tokyo china nerderlands Emirates . . .
@@justscanningby9902 That's a genius idea! Let's reclaim land until Singapore merge with Indonesia and ignore territorial waters. Problem solved!
@@justscanningby9902 Singapore is surrounded by Malaysia up north and Indonesia down south. There's only a limited space for land reclamation before Singapore reaches into other country's territorial waters. It also does not help that both Malaysia and Indonesia have banned exporting sand to Singapore and the project will be very costly. Singapore's weakness has always been its small size and reclamation can only do so much
@@justscanningby9902 There's only so much space for Singapore to expand before it reaches other country's territorial waters and the project will be costly.
If Malaysia can keep racial and religious politics out of the government, not just Johor but the whole of Malaysia will be richer than Singapore. But can it be done or not. That is the question
With so many smart people around and need you til now to highlight this ,guess we all know the answer to your statement already 😂
Johor will be Richer than Singapore. Here's why.
Johoreans work in Singapore, earn SGD,
Convert to ringgit, go back to Malaysia buy bigger houses and bigger car than Singaporeans living in Singapore.
This is how Johoreans will appear richer than Singaporeans. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Johorean is richer than Singaporean... landed property n owe a few cars. Greeting from a Singaporean. ❤❤❤😅😅😅😅
This guy has something to prove.
Malaysia has been in the middle income trap for decades. Failed or white elephant projects or policies, aplenty. Lots of very good blueprints for the future but I think they mostly failed to be realised due to poor execution. Wawasan 2020 is a notable example.
Doubt they would ever amount to anything but a big hinterland for Singapore.
plant more durain can really accelerate. Do what u can do best.
You are too optimistic. I don't think so. It could be the opposite.
Everything is possible.
Sez was mooted by sg pm gct in 1992...but msia not interested till now still talking.... Good luck to this you tube owner dream.. Continue dream... Since 80s sg pm already ask sg biz to relocate to jb or msia. But although jb or msia is lower operating cost but also poor talents... Sg although alot higher cost but foriegn investors flocking to sg. N lower tech still need to move to jb or msia to give up space to sg for high value biz n mfg
Our country has certain groups of people easily manipulated when race and religion matters is mentioned as a result of that we always change government investors wanna see political stability
I hope so. As a Singaporean, I'm all for Malaysia, becoming a country with a stronger currency. How that's actually achieved is beyond my humble normal intelligence. I can't say how it'll effect ASEAN financial relationships or the destabilising of currency or economic balances. I'm however all for people bettering their life situations and living a decent life. I have confidence Singapore too will rise up to any challenges when it comes.
can use Sing dollar for trading hub , if not create a fresh new currency ...GLOBAL $ ...for entire world to trade as one entity
Talk about low tax, rental etc.
Has Malaysia economy improves?
Man... The title's such a click bait. 😂 There are so many ifs in the video.. but yeah agree the ingredients are there, and I would say it has always been, but the fundamentals will need work
Remember me when you get famous. :)
Johor will rise for sure, but it will be at best ranked 2nd to Klang Valley/KL as KL also is becoming stronger world class hub.
Transform to Mexico or Shenzhen? 🤔
Don’t talk prove it the extremely high illiteracy in Johor and terrible infrastructure 😢 how can it be ? SEZ JOHOR and Singapore just a dream let’s see
Shenzhen and HK are one country and 2 systems. Singapore and JB are under 2 countries and 2 systems. There is still a lot of work in progress.
When Malaysia join Singapore making Singapore as the capital, then, Johor will be rich.
Johore Sultan's family go where? Simply Abdicated? 😂
@@TheOldmankk He will automatically become a Singapore citizen. He can be the next President of Singapore and continued to be crowned king. Johor state can prosper together with Singapore. Imagine all those who are living north can become Singaporeans. Enjoy racial and religious harmony. Use the Global No. 1 passport. Lee Kuan Yew always thought we are together as one until SG was told to get out. If we are together as one nation, there is much to gain. Of course, provided the whole country is governed by the incumbent Singapore government. Capable and principled leaders from the north can also be part of the new government. Keep racial politics out. Let's prosper together in unity. Keep religion and affirmative policy derived from racial preference out from politics. They cannot mix.
It's only a dream....Singapore is actually creating opportunities for Johor. We support each other.
Leteknya yang strategis dan sumberdaya yang visa disebut sangat mendukung untuk tahapan seperti itu
City Singaporean carry so many house loan and COE loan to work until 68 years old, like Kuala Lumpurian or Melakian. Johorian don't carry so many house loan and COE loan. Johorian mostly oil palm landlords inherited by parents, especially North Johorian.
USE SINGAPORE CUSTOM(SAFETY ) ARE ENOUGH.....COME IN TO MALAYSIA DON'T NEED SCAN EXCERPT FOREIGNERS LANES...
I would say...richer than other parts of Malaysia but not Singapore.
hongkong and shenzhen is LPPL, sing and johor is different in many ways lah! jb often flood during monsoon, food so-so v salty more unhealthy; only petrol cheap-cheap (sin ev cannot enjoy), property affordable but cannot make $$ over time. sing prop appreciates many times over time besides offers reasonable comfortable lifestyle, easy transport connectivity, security and gahman gives so many handouts until retirement no problem
I dent see any logic behind this, even though Johor had a some mega project like Tanjung Pelepas Port, Pengerang refinery, Legoland and Iskandar but it doesn't happen.
dont create bulshit content
Running out of ideas mah
Common lah, that's what few online Bolehsians are good at, as media influencers. Quick easy click baits. 🎉
Then can you create better content with similar issue?
So the comparison is actually not valid.
feeling hopeful once again for this country.
Elon Musk said Singapore will extinct. How?
Joke of the YEAR. 💪💪💪💪
Good news
Lol, so many proud Singaporeans here who are so easily triggered 😂.
Keep dreaming! You are either ignorant, deceiving, or both. 😂😂
wow'pncipta kndungn aka youtube influ' mereka adalh pakar ekonomi dunia
Msia is cheaper but how much is the corruption in msia will eventually cost investors? Things are cheap for a reason
Dreamer's talk, NO way JB can ever catch up with Singapore.
Actually there is quite a number of people in JB cannot speak English, they still serve other speaking Malay even though we communicate with them in English......
That’s because it was constitutionalismn adhered , i beg to differ as a Johorean 😂 ironically comparing on colloquial proper english towards Singlish 😂
It is always to fun on a fantasizing-feel-good trip. Never will happen, different type of people and mentality.
Dream on.. with those one race politics and extreme corruption !
I think.is the people that make the place prosper .
Genius, real genius 😂
Amen!!!
Are you dreaming? Maybe you can take a look at Singapore private property.
There's still politcal risk for foreign investors in Msia. Govt competency is still a big gap and hopefully ,
Spore govt will do nothing and watch as JB ' zoom ' ahead .😂
Likely JB will complement what Spore needed and don't need ! Close 2nd to Spore maybe
and richest STATE in Msia !!
JOHOR GO GO GO
0:23 Johor ? 🧐🤣
When corruption is rampant in the country how will it be a super economy.
Johore if want to become rich (like SG) must break away from Federation of Malaysia (not Bumiputra Policy) and operate with chinese mentality.
Well…. The gap between jb to Singapore is more than just a bridge 😅
Impossible. Shenzhen and Hong Kong are part of China. Singapore and Johor are separate sovereignty. That's simple.
I doubt johor will beat Singapore. The government change the law for allowing Muslim to take off day on Friday so that would affected to the major business in johor.
Johor will rise for sure, but it will be at best ranked 2nd to Klang Valley/KL as KL also is becoming stronger world class hub.
Elon Musk said Singapore will extinct. How?

Rubbish lah, so simple you will be Menteri Besar of Johor. Just another Yada Yada BS clickbait.
It's not pronounced as sal mon. It's sa·muhn
But johor will still x to sg to work or become new sg... Johor lack of quality ppl willing to stay put but had few well connected ppl that will get rents to lease to data centres....
