Nice! -- QUESTION --- When people say that a winch is a "40 Winch" or a 30 winch, what are they measuring? Is it the width of the winch or how tall it is or what? I don't get it and no one ever explains what is being measured and is it in inches or metric?
@@Coleen-Love hi Coleen welcome to my channel. You have a good question. The winch size refers to the power ratio. Example is you put a 10lb of effort on the handle, the pull generated will be approximately 400lb for a size 40 winch. Hope this helps. Love to hear questions like this as I learn by this too. Cheers
@@Coleen-Love thank you from my heart for your wonderful comments. I don’t get a lot of feedback at all. Not sure if it’s easy to put comments on my channel or if there is a disconnect somewhere?
This is really helpful thanks. I'll try next week!
That’s wonderful to hear. Hope you’re able to use the information. We worked on all of ours last year;-)

@@sailingwithjacq ...wow..didn't expect that answer.. I guessed it had to do with its width or circumference. But that is an excellent explanation.
@@Coleen-Love you are very welcome, glad we where able to answer this.
@@sailingwithjacq ...looks like a great channel!
