Excellent communication between workers and great quality of work
Water on top before you bull float can cause survive cracks and some inspectors here in CA will not be happy with you doing that .I'll do it if it's stiff mud or late getting to the bull float .just putting out there .I love pouring concrete it's hard dirty work but time flies by and your on your way home with a fat paycheck and a smile on your face.its an art that anyone can do but few are really great at it

I loved working as finisher. I miss the action. Lol Local 780 NYC. Don't you love it when they start building on the floor before it dry? Lol well we got to go back and skim coat all the floors with strutlite. It never made sense. But it did to them.. I loved the city I was proud to be a concrete finisher.

I’m an Ironworker for local 86 out of Seattle. Do concrete finishers get paid more ? If so I’m going to be a concrete finisher then. I’m jumping locals lol 😂

They do. They cut it after floor is finished. Called a soft cut
There are two kinds of concrete: concrete that is cracked, and concrete that hasn’t cracked yet

What are those plastic string sticking out? What is it for?
The orange things are little fans that plug into a coupler that's attached to an all thread rod. there for the framers. When the concrete is cured you'll know where ever bolt is. Then you chip out every one to reveal your rod.

It can be easy money or you can really work for your money depending who you’re on a job with. If you don’t mind being on your hands and knees then this job is great. Love the strength and enthusiasm in your guys union there in Seattle I'm Cincinnati 132 I think our average age is like 45 I'm 27 and not many young guys willing for a hard days work anymore at least not around here I ask people daily if they need a job lol love what we do and no one period can get down like a Mason when there is mud on the ground Haha respect guys keep it up!

I'm 31 work for local 528. Been doing this since I was 13 years old. Breed into this from uncle's. We get extra hour over time if we don't take our lunch, hall policy. Breaks are rare on big pour days.
