I grew up in the 80s and 90s and this song is one that was on heavy rotation when I was in elementary school. It’s always been one of my favorites from my childhood 🔥
This was the song I had played at my wedding, right after they pronounced us man and wife!! Beautiful song
Shalamar had so many hits from 1977 to 1982. Generally, each member would sing on the song that suited their voice, and style. After the break-up, Jody Watley set out on a solo career that was very successful. The most notable being Looking For A New Love, Some Kind Of Lover, Real Love, Friends, I'm The One You Need, and Still A Thrill. Here are a few of Shalamar's biggest hits.

Legendary group. They started out as dancers on Soul Train back in the day. Another great song by them is “A night to Remember” 🔥. Howard Hewett is the lead singer and is the truth. The other lead singer in the group is Jodi Whatley.
Not all true. Howard Hewitt was not a dancer on soyl train. Howard was the lead singer, all 3 did singing up front.
Jodi Watley was a soul train dancer before the group took off. She had a successful solo career in the late 80s. You should check out a couple of her songs if you haven't already.
Howard Hewett was the main lead singer for this group. He is the lead on this song the rest are sing background vocals. Howard is the brother on the left in the pic. The other members are Jodie Watley (Who had a decent solo career) and Jeffery Daniels who was a hell of a dancer well Jodie Watley was also. Jeffery Daniels and Jodie use to be Soul Train Dancers

A lot of people don't know that the dark skin brother with the afro taught Michael Jackson the moonwalk. His name is Jeffrey Daniels. There is video of him dancing and moonwalking before Mike to their song a night to remember.
He taught him more than that. He was his choreographer in the beginning when he first went solo. So that leg kick in a lot of other stuff came from Jeffrey

Im 45 years old/young😆and since i was young this was the jam its a timeless classic real R&B music this the type of song you play at weddings the melody and harmony is sick i love the keyboard riff at the beginning gives me goosebumps you feel this kinda music no matter what generation this was in the 80's the 70's was golden as well i was born in '78 and i had to refind that stuff thats where the classics are at music thats timeless and quality from the vocals to the instruments and its was ppl actually playing instruments

The main lead singer was Howard Hewett He's the guy on the left in the picture. He sings lead on the entire song. The lady in the middle is another great singer by the name of Jody watley. She's another great solo artist. The guy on the right is a good singer and a great choreographer by the name of Jeffrey Daniels. He choreographed Michael Jackson in his very early years

Let me tell you.........Shalamar was a 3 person group that was created for the benefit of a TV show called "SOUL TRAIN" The girl singer, Jody Watley, was a Soul Train full time dancer, as was Jeffery Daniel, the lead singer Howard Hewett, sang lead on most of the songs, him and Jody Watley sang most of the duets.........they were created back in 1976, with their big hit "The Second Time Around".......Jody Watley would go her separate way in 1983, and be replaced by Delisa Davis, then eventually, Howard Hewett would go his own separate way as well in 1985....both Howard and Jody would flourish within their own careers and make their name known for many years and big hit records and albums

This is a classic. This song stayed on repeat in my house. I remember my mother killing this song which is how I learned all the words.
