In my 2000 Silverado 1500, I'm running a Texas Speed 220R cam. In an upgraded LQ9. *6.0L for those who don't know RPOs* ( Coated bearings, New Ceramic / Teflon coated full floating pistons, Gen4 LS3 Rods, Comp Springs, Comp Roller Bearing Trunnions, Double Roller Timing Chain set, Melling HV/HP oil pump, Shorty Headers, LS7 Ceramic ball Lifters, Oversized Balancer Pulley, and some other stuff I can't think of. Do you happen to know how much cam lift you can have before the stock GM Valve covers become a problem?
got me on right track do you know any settings for discrete fan set up also i have issues with my brakes hard to press after cam change and i get cam error and map error
What size cam are you turning for? Thanks (I just wanted to add, I've been searching for DAYS on youtube for a decent "IDLE TUNE FOR GEN3 CAM SWAP" and after watching 30+ videos that most were 20mins+... This has been THE BEST I'VE SEEN!!!! Straight and TO THE POINT!!! Thank you soooooo much.
Could you help me tune my truck? PLZ PLZ PLZ.. I've hit a wall i can't jump... You can make a video out of it... could be a good learning video for others! :) plz plz plz..
@@Recklessmotorsports SOOO.. This is a 2000 silverado DBC 6.0L LQ9, 234 heads, TSP220R cam, Shorty Headers, P01 ECU, running base tune from 2002 Tahoe L59 (5.3l w/ flex fuel) as I've replaced the vacuum fuel pressure regulator with a 2001 corvette fuel filter (return line style filter). EGR Delete and added a Flex Fuel sensor... I had purchased new injectors, but they are too short, so I went back to the stock LQ9 21.4lb injectors. The Tune was showing 35lb for the l59. When left at the 35lb, it is very hard to start, idles like crap, but gets better around 2500. Under heavy throttle, it goes lean at around 16.8-17AFR. I bumped up some stuff to make it "idle" and a little easier to start. When I tell it, they are 21lb injectors it became really really hard to start, and under heavy PE throttle, it falls flat on its face with a RICH stall AFR of 6-7.. It seems to run best when told they are 25lb injectors. However. Sometimes it'll start right up, sometimes it cranks and cranks, and I hear a "puff puff" and finally it'll get off to a slow run then pep up. Idle will get into a "bounce" where it's fine, then will go upto 850 down to 650, upto 950 down to 550, upto 1200 down to 400 and stall out. Stays right at 13.5-14.9afr at that time. No knock or miss is ever detected... I have the flex fuel sensor turned off in the tune, to try and void any trouble from that out. 02 l59 Tahoe didn't have egr to start, so I couldn't have messed anything up turning that off. (Because it came turned off, lol). Finally, I removed the clutch fan and went to dual electric fans that are on ECU controlled relays. Fan1 and fan2. I have some driving logs I can post if that'll help. However my AFR Guage isn't in them. I just watch that on the dash.
@@Recklessmotorsports I'll add one more thing. This is my first non-stock LS, so I kept it rather mellow. But I've build carbed SBC and BBC motors that made around 500-800HP "respectively" and can duplicate that all day with my eyes closed. If this was a carbed engine, I know exactly what I'd do. But with the ECU, I'm not sure of what to do, because it seems like nothing is 1+2=3. It's all A*B or/if B =/>T&A than F and/if
Hey man I know this is an older video but I could use some help. I'm dialing in the idle on my brothers cammed 5.3 OBS. The idle seems to "run away" in the AFRs after a while. I added more fuel and it will stay around 15-16 at idle instead of running away to nearly 20. Is 15-16 okay?
Is there a way I can make my cam lope sound more aggressive. Is it only in the overspeed and underspeed tables or is there something else I need to adjust. I don't know all my cam specs because it was a custom cam but its a 228/235 with a 113+4 lsa
@@Recklessmotorsports I want more of that chop and not as smooth sounding as it is as long as I don't mess up the rest of the tune because drivability is good right now. I want that popcorn crackle chop sound at idle. So I guess yes with larger chops
Hey man my idle airflow table is super high and I’m a little nervous about tuning it down, you added 20% and another video the guy added 30% but my numbers at like 4x higher than that I don’t know what to do really because my truck does run and idle now but it still needs to be adjusted and I’m still new to this
Great video! This really helped me tame the idle on my car.
Glad we can help
Thank you Sir
Can this setup work on 5.3 ls engine LM7?

Lower idle rpm and add more fuel

Okay so I just realized my table is pounds per hour and yours is gram per second
Yes always change it to g/s
Bro no matter how much I
Fuck with my initial start up and base idle air flow it just keeps dumping fuel and fouling up my plugs
What vehxile
Hey man can you remote tune?
Yes
