And Allah is All-Hearing, All-Knowing." The tax is not forcing people to convert, jizya tax is paid by nonMuslims because they dont participate in the military.

My understanding is that at the Battle of Talas in the 8th century the Turks who knew they were going to be betrayed by the Chinese switched sides to fight with the Arabs.

Brother in Asia they became Muslim not through missionaries, but rather through etiquette and honesty. When Arabs travelled to Asia such as Indonesia to do “teejarah” that is trade. They did it with honesty and sincerity. If they owed anyone money or made a promise, then on there return to that country where trade is performed be it 1 month, 1 year or even at times after 10 years. Muslims would remember each and every individual they did trade with and any promises they made or money such change from a transaction they would keep those promises. Locals loved their honesty and humbleness, thus wanted to be like them, this is how Islam was spread in Asia.😋Baraka lahu feek brother.

Arabs fought us a lot of times under Hz Umar but they failed to conquer us im talking about hazar Turks but we later learned islam in the battle of talas with arabs and persians and then we adopted this beatiful religion
Historically, from what I know, missionaries was sent by persian Samanid dynasty, which ruled central asia at the time, in order to convert nomad turks. Which was not an easy task because they were nomads. It has a number of purposes for the dynasty, thiugh did not help dynasty to win the war with their neighbour Ghaznevids.
And technically Islam spread using combined forces of sword and book, or sometimes trade like what we see in the case of Indonesia. Most part of Muslims were in somewhat conquered land. And mostly converted after being under Muslim's rule.
But that wasn't forced conversion.. like reconquesta of spain thing
