I just picked up this bad boy today and topped up my Ram 1500 tires and my Trailer tires. all on a 5 amp/HR battery that had 3 bars and got the job done. Trailer tires went from 50 to 65 and my Truck tires were 4-10 psi low. No extension cords and or long hose from the Garage. Super impressed, love this tool!
Great review. You talked me into it. I purchased one with the charger and two 5amp batteries for $199 from Home Depot. Love it so much I decided to get one for my daughter, OUT OF STOCK and now $496 at Home Depot! So thankful I purchased when I did. Thank you!

This is one of those cool tools i simply don't have room for. I'm only filling up gas pipes to 10 psi to test for leaks. My little m12 does it just fine.
I have M12 & M18 tools, but I got the M18 inflator for airing up tires after coming off the 4x4 trails. I didn't want onboard air so I can take it wherever I need it. INMHO this is another big win for Milwaukee.
It lacks what? It does exactly what it is supposed to do. It’s not for filling truck tires.. it’s for inflating small tires or for pressure testing in plumbing applications…
Was looking at the 12 and 18 and decided to get the M18. Love the power and speed, it will still inflate little stuff and in my opinion it's still a tiny unit
This is one of the best tools I've ever owned. Every time I use it, I am blown away at how fast it is. I recommend the m18 inflator to anyone looking for their next inflation tool.

They did a Labor day deal a few weeks ago with the inflator, two 6.0ah batteries, and a charger that does either m18 or m12 for $260. Was a good deal. The inflator works great.

Great review. I have the M12 compressor and am happy with it. Hope the price drops a little more in the next year or so and I will probably pick one up.
Nice video. I have the M12 and it just took a crap i think from overheating. I have a Ram 2500 and trying to fill these larger tires draws too much heat i think the piston seal crapped out. I like the fact they made the M18 with a fan.
I would like to see a higher end brand make an inflator/deflation. It would be nice to have the ability to LOWER the tire psi if it is over the target. Would also be nice to be able to suck the air from inflatable pool toys for storage.
It's a great unit, very impressive, make short work of a hard task, well worth the money. This to me is a must have took for your vehicle and around the house.
Used on my mustang today from 15 to 35 PSI and it was not loud as I thought. Fast and accurate. Very impressed. Not sure if it needs oil change like some of my classic compressors that do use oil.
Nice! I wish MW would have released this M18 version last year when I was in the market for a tire inflator. I opted to get the DeWalt inflator which is also pretty nice.
Same here. I also purchased the Dewalt. I'm happy with it. I'll stay with it. I think it was a good idea to change to M18 platform from M12. I still wonder why Milwaukee ever went with M12. Price is pretty high. Maybe when it get's down below $150. We'll see.
I’ll take the Dewalt over the Milwaukee for 1 reason. The Dewalt gives you options on power supply. Plug, cigarette lighter, battery. The Milwaukee you can only use a battery. If the battery I have is dead would like to know I have another option.
if you can believe this i found one of these on the roadsie. it had a battery in it. i bought a charger on ebay for $29.95. what a great deal for me. a $300 package and only 30 bucks invested in it.
I work for a tow company, i typically do 4+ tire changes a day after 3 months of owning this its been nothing but amazing, i did think i fkd it up 3 weeks back in a brief rainstorm but its been fine. Moisture did get inside the screen lense but its gone now and still works fine. I do recharge battery everyday because im paranoid, My XC 5.0 has gone 1 bar once when we where busy as hell so i charge regularly but thats just me, And the 12.0HD too expensive. If your looking into one it's very practical for my line of work, But to have in the garage? Theres cheaper options i would say. I don't have buyers remorse but i do think when i quit this Job i wont have anymore use for it honestly. Already have a cheap ass slime inflator i rarely use at home. Milwaukee Inflator stays in work truck. Regardless it's a bad ass inflator to have and i recommend it and maybe if you have no tight budget get 12.0 battery lol
I have one hooked up to my Train Horns . Set to 10 bar . Sweet little bit of kit and I can still use it to pump up my tyres . Great item .I use a 5 amp battery and it lasts a good 20 full inflations
Nice review and looks like a solid tool. For the $50 I’ve been super happy with my Ryobi dual inflator. Used it a lot on completely flat truck/car tires. Certainly slower than this unit but for $169 I could buy three of the ryobi’s and be airing up three tires at a time. Not sure milwaukees price is always justified
Been waiting for mine to get shipped to store so I can pick it up. Stoked for this as I am invested into Milwaukee and use a cheap quality inflator at home
Thanks for the review Brian. As fast as milwaukee pumps out new products I can't for the life of me figure out why it took them so long for this one. For tires it looks to be exactly what the dr ordered. But... it would have been nice to see this thing inflate an air mattress. Everyone knows that was the achilles heel of the m12 version while the dewalt 18v model handled those just fine albeit you may want to keep in mind dewalt's lackluster duty cycle if you're inflating multiple mattresses at a time.
Best thing I’ve found for filling air mattresses and river floats, etc is the Milwaukee m18 blower. Not the big yard one but the one with the smaller output tube. Fills mattresses and tubes in seconds. It’s has massive volume output instead of pressure
Be careful using this with any of those small volume tires. Tried this using the targeted 50psi on a small scooter tire starting at 10psi and it quickly jumped above 75psi before I could react to turn it off in time. The targeting with these lesser volume tires failed 2/2 times. The manual on/off might be okay but not worth the risk as it still remains on for a few seconds beyond what you'd want. Fortunately I have many other smaller pumps for the lesser volume tires. Works great for more standard volumes.
finally something that works good. ive been using them Slime Brand air inflators from Oreillys and they have always gone out, especially here in Texas in the summer. Thanks for the great review!!
Would have loved to see it fill your 35” jeep tire from 12 psi to 30 to see if it could be used as a backup tire inflator on the trail. Thanks for the good info
Cheers Brian, bought the Ryobi as got fed up waiting for the M18 inflator. I like the fact I can use the Ryobi for inflatable beds/paddle boards. Sadly on low pressure you can’t set the PSI target (high pressure side only). Any idea if you could use the PSI target with the low pressure attachment on this M18? Thanks again for the video. Great review
I do not believe this has a high volume low pressure side like the ryobi. It is pushing "high volume air" at all times. So, yes, you could set a pressure, but it would be so low that it might be hard for the unit to do it.
I have the M12 and it has a 50% duty cycle but it is 10 minutes on and 10 minutes off. You can certainly inflate a couple of LT tires in that time frame, though the M18 is certainly much better.
Cool review. Good to see that Milwaukee have come out with option for their customers with different requirement. I have the M12, for more that 2.5y and this inflator is running well without issues. I could live with its duty cycle and speed compared to the M18 here. M12 comes in a more compact form and it does what i need it to do. However for the future I would definitely go for the M18 as the next purchase due to its better specs. If milwaukee made the M18 inflator similar design but scaled up, it would be a best seller imo
How do you think this would work for an offroad rig vs and on board air system? I carry the 18V impact for quick tire changes etc... so have an 18V inflator would be a perfect match if it can fill 4 tires rather quickly
IMHO, this is the ONLY inflator that will work for offroad use. The rest would hit the duty cycle on the first or second tire and the speed is slow. I would use the 50 psi to 75 psi test as what you will probably expect going from 10 to 32 psi in a larger tire.
Was forced to by the 20v skil inflator cuz they only had m12 last year looks like dad's getting the skil wish this had light and air blower like skil and a usb slot would of been very handy.
@@johnclark8631 Yep... I installed one of those on mine and it eliminated the only real complaint I had with the unit. I just don't like screw-on air chucks.

Great review. Awesome inflator. Just too big and expensive for me. I'll stick with the Ridgid inflator. Project Farm did a review of these (not this m18-wasnt out yet of course) and the Ridgid kicked tail. The Ridgid does great, pretty fast, some cool auto settings, big screen doesn't get too hot, easy to use, compact and about $100 cheaper. Worth taking a look at. Again nice review.
I have the Ridgid one and it's simply way too loud. Also takes forever to inflate my Corolla from like 27-30. Personally I'm returning mine for this Milwaukee one. Shoutout home Depot for the 5 month warranty I think it is
@@auginater4200 that is weird, that it takes so long. It inflates my GMC 3/4 ton up 5 psi from 55 to 60 psi in about 35 to 45 seconds. It inflated my wife's volleyball almost dead flat to 6 psi in about 3 to 4 seconds. Mine has been awesome. It's lived up to everything Project Farm said it was. To me it's not that loud. Is quieter than the Bower and quieter than the Ryobi and another off-brand I used to have. Sorry yours must have a problem.
Is it especially loud? Hard to tell in your video as you may have tweaked the levels. I had a cheap no-brand inflator which was so noisy I didn't like using it near my home.
Awesome! Do you know if it's a plastic, metal, or composite piston & cylinder? Do you need to add graphite for lubricant matinance? Had anyone taken it apart yet?
Is a 1/3 duty cycle scalable? In other words can you run it for 10 minutes, rest it for 20, then run another 10 with a 20 min rest…then repeat this for a couple of hours? Also, are they saying 20 minutes max continuous, then a 40 minute rest is required?
I bought this last August and all I gotta say is: No more paying $1 for air at the gas station. This thing's a BEAST
what's the cfm on this?
Sweet. In only another 180 (or so) fill-ups, you'll have already broken even!

I do not believe this has a high volume low pressure side like the ryobi. It is pushing "high volume air" at all times. So, yes, you could set a pressure, but it would be so low that it might be hard for the unit to do it.
Great channel. Solid review as always
Has the accuracy of the pressure readout been checked with an accurate tire pressure gauge to determine deviation?
I have the M12 and it has a 50% duty cycle but it is 10 minutes on and 10 minutes off. You can certainly inflate a couple of LT tires in that time frame, though the M18 is certainly much better.
best video out there, always wanted to see 80 psi
Great review, again love the channel and transparency 💥👍🙏🇺🇲 Wonder how this compares to the Makita 18v.
If milwaukee made the M18 inflator similar design but scaled up, it would be a best seller imo
wonder if this would be strong enough for semi tires going from 110 to 120psi ??
My super singles run at 130 psi.
Would be good to know. If it’s 150psi rated I would assume so
How do you think this would work for an offroad rig vs and on board air system? I carry the 18V impact for quick tire changes etc... so have an 18V inflator would be a perfect match if it can fill 4 tires rather quickly
IMHO, this is the ONLY inflator that will work for offroad use. The rest would hit the duty cycle on the first or second tire and the speed is slow. I would use the 50 psi to 75 psi test as what you will probably expect going from 10 to 32 psi in a larger tire.
Dang, I just bought the M12 a month ago and have been disappointed in it. The M18 looks like it's tons better.
And the cost difference is worth the upgrade. 90 day money back on this stuff if you are not happy with the M12.
Was forced to by the 20v skil inflator cuz they only had m12 last year looks like dad's getting the skil wish this had light and air blower like skil and a usb slot would of been very handy.
Looks like they didn't fix my only complaint with the M12 inflator - screwing the hose onto the valve stem. Was hoping for a clip on chuck.
There is an adapter you can get from Amazon. A different reviewer discussed that.
Several brands. Usually a 2 pack for $10 or so.
Thanks John!
@@johnclark8631 Yep... I installed one of those on mine and it eliminated the only real complaint I had with the unit. I just don't like screw-on air chucks.
@@eosjoe565 what brand/model did you get for it? I have yet to order one. Will probably get 2 because I have the M12 already and waiting for the M18 I preordered.
Very cool! Looks awesome thanks for making this review. 😀
I have the small one.. it’s ok.. I also have the cordless compressor, which I use to blow out my hydro jetter hoses and supply hose /garden hose.. I’m curious if this could blow the hoses out…
Great review...great speed and specs,very nice inflater...👍✌️👊
Thanks! 👍
Great review....great product. I'll be looking for this one to compliment my line up of M18 products.
How times have changed. On the farm we’d fill a portable air tank just to get a piece of equipment to the shop and then finish inflating.
Brought ryobi inflatable returning now to Home Depot and getting this one today 😅 I keep telling myself buy it cheap buy it twice 😢
Is the M18 WATERPROOF??? Rain, snow, etc. Will it work in WET CONDITIONS on the side of the road?
Shoutout home Depot for the 5 month warranty I think it is
Here's the thing, you invest in ONE tool brand because the batteries are too expensive
@@4673962 yeah of course his has a problem.
Can it deflate them as well if they’ve been over filled?
Do they deflate too?, my dewalt used to
Is it especially loud? Hard to tell in your video as you may have tweaked the levels. I had a cheap no-brand inflator which was so noisy I didn't like using it near my home.
This unit is not loud and is probably one of the more quiet units I have used. It has a higher pitched sound compared to others.
@@WorkshopAddict Thanks man :)
Awesome! Do you know if it's a plastic, metal, or composite piston & cylinder? Do you need to add graphite for lubricant matinance? Had anyone taken it apart yet?
Just run it mate

How does this compare to 12v inflators? Are the 12v slower?
Is it useful for semi trucks?
Great vid I just upgraded from the m12 .
Duty cycle on the m12 is 10 min runtime..Than 10 min rest time ...
Is a 1/3 duty cycle scalable?
In other words can you run it for 10 minutes, rest it for 20, then run another 10 with a 20 min rest…then repeat this for a couple of hours?
Also, are they saying 20 minutes max continuous, then a 40 minute rest is required?
Do I need to buy an adaptor for it to fill my car tires?
do you have to carry the battery charger along? cant run on 12V
How does it perform with 100psi tires?
The cord gets very hot when is use. Is this normal ?
Yes. Every inflator gets hot. Make sure you abide by the duty cycle.
