Just realised..Jab We Met was such a milestone for our generation!! Every bit discussed just flashed and reinforced the liking we have for these wonderful characters and the story !!
30:00 It is ironic that the movie "Jab We Met" draws influences from "Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge," while "Chennai Express" shares similarities with "Jab We Met."
27:36 my stupid theory behind the name Aditya Kashyap is that it was also the name of MD of TATA steel at that time & a very prominent name in TATA group & Jamshedpur which is Imtiaz's hometown. He might've taken the name of this businessman. Plus the actual Aditya Kashyap was in news in 2007 bcos of his death that year.
Instantly liked the video when Shreeja quoted "idhar udhar dekho". The delivery of that dialogue by Pawan Malhotra remains one of the highlights of the movie for me.
Suggestion for next movie: CHACHI 420!! CRIMINALLY UNDERRATED MOVIE in terms of pop culture. Each and every actor has KILLED IT in their roles and it's a shame that even though the movie has several top notch comedic and meme worthy moments, it still doesn't get the attention it deserves!! Do consider it, pretty please? ❤️
That prostitute gag is a comment on the patriarchal society where ek "akeli ladki" is more likely to be a prostitute, or many men are going to presume she is a prostitute. Aditya relaxes implying, that its not the worst thing for someone to assume this. duniya sochti hai to sochne do...geet doesn't need to really change. Edit: Urijita does mention this towards the end of the podcast
With fadeouts, and that weird saxxy music. The music was the problem i think and maybe what he wanted to show is them suddenly feeling turned on or them making out by mistake couldn’t so instead it’s this weird music and excessive cuts
Having been surrounded for years by Sardar uncles since birth this is a spot-on old Sardar uncle portrayal. Do realise one is speaking about one of India's most phenomenal actors Pawan Malhotra. Find and watch Salim Langde Pe Mat Ro. Khud ke paas koi extant references and contexts nahi aur karna hai analyse.
Realizing how Abbas with all his good intentions is still a man. He thinks Geet who lives in hostel and travels alone can't be naive. Well, most women in India don't get that kind of freedom despite living in hostels and are rather sheltered.
Jab We Met is the only film where I can remember almost all the dialogues........ I have seen this movie countless times and still can watch and dialogues play a huge role in its rewatchability
Hotel receptionist asking "Kahan se mili" to Shahid is very understandable. Hotels in small towns are infamous for this and you see police raid at the end because it is that kind of a hotel.
In 2007, Shahid Kapoor played the role of a businessman who falls in love with an ordinary girl. A year later, Aamir Khan played the CEO of a telecommunications company who also falls in love with an ordinary girl. Unfortunately, the girl dies without knowing his actual name
Aditya Kashyap's character in the movie closely resembles Shahid Kapoor's real-life background as both his parents remarried after his birth, leading to him having half-siblings from both sides
11:47 Lol story of my life.. The girl started crying and threaten to get me beaten up and then I started crying coz I felt I hurt her feelings but the difference is that we were in Uni at that time, which makes it all the more sad and ironic 😀
Hey, i just heard this podcast & like Shreeja & Urjita, i got super annoyed when Abbas named that hug as soft porn. Infact, i feel the best hugs that i have seen are in Imtiaz movies. Special mention to the hug in "Socha na tha" Please do that movie, it's my favourite Imtiaz movie
Never found myself vehemently disagreeing to a lot of things Urjita was saying like today.. Despite that the all three of them are so likeable and articulate that I had a great time
Urjita and Abbas , mere “India Pod Day 2023” ke comments ke liye maafi. This is the 6th episode I have listened. Back when we all saw the movie we felt Jeet’s was a lovable character but the way you guys dissected and did a post mortem, that was a bit heavy. Well i enjoyed this show. Also agree on the kind of roles that Shahid Kapoor is doing these days.
Aditya talking to hotel guy is not that problematic coz we can justify that aditya just met geet some hrs before that scene & he must not have fallen in love or cared for her coz she is stranger for him up until them , Jab We Met is Near Flawless 🤌🏻
Oh god what? So you're saying, because he doesn't know her long enough, he can say that she's a sex worker? I'm a huge fan of JWM regardless of these small scenes which were problematic, but doesn't excuse that some scenes were a bit iffy.
Just realised..Jab We Met was such a milestone for our generation!! Every bit discussed just flashed and reinforced the liking we have for these wonderful characters and the story !!
Shoutout to Urjita! You are a bundle of joy. So mature for your age! Keep the smile on! Wishing you all the best!
Yeah. Reminds me of Iris. From Taxi Driver.
30:00 It is ironic that the movie "Jab We Met" draws influences from "Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge," while "Chennai Express" shares similarities with "Jab We Met."
Love Urjita's comic timing! Couldn't stop laughing at her impression of chachaji
Thank you 🥰
I love the contrast between the energy of abbas and the girls.
Shreeja is best guest. She’s so much fun 👏🏽

Listening to Abbas reminds me of my school teacher whose wife ran away.
That's a very specific reference
Urjita’s version of Geet was amazing 😂
It'd be great if you guys could name the supporting actors while talking about them. It really matters so much
1:00:24 The guy who played Hotel Manager is Teddy Maurya, he is credited as Production Designer in this movie
Well caught.. yea, he was casted at the last moment as there wasn't anyone else they could find to play that 'small' role
This is one of my favourite movies and I’m so happy it’s being discussed.
You have invited the perfect guest for this movie ✌🏽😅
I also watched Jab We Met on Moser Baer CDs.
Urjita is killing it in these podcasts.
On Podcasts Only
She is irritating. Very.

Urjita yaar, you've properly captured our feelings for the movie!
I've got to admit the 726 angles on the hug did seem very unnecessary but the hand on table thing is gorgeous stunning best ever 1:03:10

Please do Jo jeeta wohi Sikander with Neville Shah
Yessss! Great suggestion!
Realizing how Abbas with all his good intentions is still a man. He thinks Geet who lives in hostel and travels alone can't be naive. Well, most women in India don't get that kind of freedom despite living in hostels and are rather sheltered.
This is by far the best episode 😊
What a wholesome podcast man! Damn fun!!
Jab We Met is the only film where I can remember almost all the dialogues........ I have seen this movie countless times and still can watch and dialogues play a huge role in its rewatchability
I don't know why but I am in love with Urjita 😅... Ideal geet for me

11:47 Lol story of my life.. The girl started crying and threaten to get me beaten up and then I started crying coz I felt I hurt her feelings but the difference is that we were in Uni at that time, which makes it all the more sad and ironic 😀
Maza a gaya. Especially ending fight like argument
I am listening this podcast in a Virar Train :)
Great podcast again!
Your mention of Socha Na Tha made me happy. Hoping you'd cover it sometime because people have sort of forgotten about it.
I was thinking about the same movie few episodes back. Please cover socha na tha!
My favourite joke template is ‘Geet from the 1st Half vs Geet from the 2nd Half’.
@59:38 Urjita ney editor sahab ka dil dhadka diya. 💓
Amazing panel, Fun discussion 🤩😄
Cyrus ad is sick
Agree with Abbas about the last “hug” scene, super weird editing.
This is the best show on ivmpop...weekly2episodes..please

1:02:09 - Abbas was so out of the place in this podcast! Hahaha
please reduce cuts stay more on wide angle...
Never found myself vehemently disagreeing to a lot of things Urjita was saying like today.. Despite that the all three of them are so likeable and articulate that I had a great time
I saw ‘Jab We Met’ on TV but before I saw it, I was told I looked like Aditya because I had similar hair and wore glasses.
Why are you discriminating against the video watchers for the alternate ending section ?
When is the rhtdm ep releasing?
Monday.
@@abbasmomin okay sir
How is a guy wanting to date a girl who can take care of herself a sexist or an "alpha male"?
I liked Abbas until this episode man. Dude came with a vendetta for most loved movie.
I agree! He had problem with everything. Dude just chill!
Please do 1991's Benaam Badshah, starring Anil Kapoor & Juhi Chawla. 😎
Abbas is the devils advocate here. I see n that's fine.
But I also feel ke movie ko movie ki tarah dekhna chahiye. It's nt a documentary na
37:00 best!
Just a feeling.. Synopsis really required hai kya. B is z ppl who haven't watched a certain movie will not watch these episodes. I think

He definitely cares for her as she's the one that just stopped him from jumping off.

because he doesn't care for her, he can make crass comments like that and insinuate she's a sex worker to a shady guy for no reason? hadd hai matlab.
