      @@jasonbourne3745 Thank you KtL! I've put approximately 500 rounds through mine and not one incident of beaver bite. Instinctively, the web of my hand is positioned so as to avoid any issues. Also, with all my handguns (esp. semi autos) I maintain a firm grip with all of the the remaining fingers. I have the PPK/S 22 lr version too and it's such a joy to shoot! The Driver Yes Sir, I think that is very important to show, most of the time the pistols will work through it after 200 rounds or so, if so we show that too. As reviewers to folks that are going to spend their hard earned money..... I want to give the full picture of what we experienced in all of our testing “warts and all”..... if it shot perfect we say that too. I hate gun channels that only do a table top like video, that tells us nothing on how the gun shoots or what kind of shooting issues a buyer can expect. They just say this gun is great! “Bullshit” they did not test it at all. If a buyer buys a “bad” pistol, it can be a costly mistake $$$ to get rid of it and buy a good pistol. I want to save my Subscribers and Viewers that nightmare if possible. 👍👊🤗.
      Thanks for watching as always.

    My EDC is the 2010 Walther PPK by S&W with the improved feed ramp & larger beavertail. I reload for my range work & about a thousand rounds since I had a new ejector installed the gun has been flawless. A little heavy for EDC & wish i could change the sights...but overall it's been perfect. Rosewood grips turned this beauty into a 10.

    I bought the Walter PPKS 380 brand new . This gun was tooled very tight . I ran 400 rounds through it to get it broke in . I've owned the gun now for many years and am very satisfied . It's very easy to clean if you have any common sense at all . I break mine down all the way to the firing pin to clean . It hides easily in blue jeans back pocket . All 4 of my clips have the pinky extension for better grip . The single stack clips make it very flat and easy to retrieve from my pocket . I also use the uncle mike's ambidextrous holster with the extra clip holster made on the top . Even if I ever buy any other pistols this is a keeper . 😎

    I want to make a comment on the Kore gun belt system you advertised in this video. This belt/buckle system is perfect. I ordered a black synthetic belt and stainless steel buckle, with a separate tan belt. There is a significant price incentive to order this way and the buckle is interchangeable between belts. This belt is phenomenal in that it looks good with jeans, khakis, cargo pants, work pants, whatever, it’s very stiff, so it can hold your gun with ease and is adjustable to about any waist size. I used your B9USA code for 10% off. They got them to me in two days!

    • @BERETTA9mmUSA
      @BERETTA9mmUSA  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      gregshock That is great Sir! That shipping was very fast. I have used the belts for a while and the buckles have been nearly indestructible. Changing the Buckle out with the different color belts is very smart and makes your dollars go further. Smart choice indeed. Thanks for the follow up on the Kore Belt System. I do not bring a product to the Channel unless it tests out very well for myself first. One of our Subs recently pointed out that he likes the facts that we showed the 3 or 4 malfunctions with the PPKS..... he congratulated us for being so honest. In my opinion that is what everyone that has a Gun Channel has to do, if not you are not being honest with your very important Subscribers and Viewers. How can a person “review or recommend” a handgun or Belt Product without testing it.... allot.
      Anyway, thanks again Sir. I appreciate the feedback. Beretta Sr.

I own two now (Stainless & Melonite), they were recent purchases. We sold the specific PPK/s in this video to my brother, he still loves it & uses it as a main summertime carry. One thing I will mention to you is, be aware that there will likely be a few edges on the pistol that you may want to sand down with some proper sandpaper for the job. I sanded on my two recently picked up PPK's & the pistol in this video, It makes the PPK/s actually enjoyable to shoot & better for "general gun handling".

Besides being a little longer than the PPKs the SMC .380 has an alloy frame, dovetailed rear sight and target style grip. It will not accept Walther mags and the mags for the SMC .380 can be found online every once in a while. I use to load 3.5 grs of bulleye pushing a 115 gr. 9 mm projectile as my carry round. Very cool pistols and mine ran flawlessly and liked my loading.

    Ty. Have really enjoyed your videos. This was my dream pistol. Purchased this in 22lr as my very first pistol. Slide jammed at less than 200 rounds and froze up. Sent back. They repaired immediately and fast turn around. Locked up again just working the slide. I requested a new one and they said no. 2 years later I own over 15 now and shoot every week. So disappointed as love to have one but can’t bring myself to purchase one. Have my brothers first ever pistol. Bersa 380 thunder. Fun shooting. More meaningful too. But who wouldn’t like to have their first handgun ever back? They cheated me out of mine. Whoever has it now hope they got it working. If not beautiful paperweight....

    • @rediius

      The slide on my Walther PPK/S .22 would sometimes lock due to the threaded barrel. Once I realized that I knew how to get it unstuck (and also how to reassemble to minimize that issue). Hard to explain in words but it's just a jiggle to free up the slide.

    • @Sterlingrex

      @@mickwells9431 I don't think the straight blow back design lends itself to anything larger in this size pistol. There are powerful loads for the .380 that rival "so-so" 9mm loads, but the recoil makes the PPK/S hard to handle putting more than a few dozen down the pipe without punishing the wrist.
      (From watching hours of TH-cam videos, not personal experience.)
      Check out Military Arms Channel .380 Underwood / Liehigh Defense ammo testing in gel. It's eye opening. Yankee Marshall did a test too, but his results were not as impressive.
      The difference (I believe) was that MAC used a longer barrel, closer to the PPK's 3.3".

    • @mickwells9431
      @mickwells9431 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Sterlingrex : Cool, I'll check that out. Walther does have the gas delayed blowback system, like the H&K P7 squeeze cocker pistol, in their CCP. I own one and the gas delayed system works well in taming the 9mm. Even if Walther implemented a Browning tilting barrel system it wouldn't break my heart. At the end of the day I guess I'll just have to keep on dreaming on. Thanks Sterlingrex.

I did manage to get it back after his death but only that and a S&W M57 (Magna-Ported/Round Butted/Action Job and SS Metalife'd) that I had also gifted to Dad in 1982 for his 50th Birthday (long agonizing story) ! thinking about getting one to carry on the non-1911 or Glock 23 days ';-) Thanks

      cool, if your ppk says it was made in germany then that would mean it was manufactured and imported sometime before 1968, which was when imports of PPK's were banned and replaced by the PPK/S, with PPK's coming back in 1978 as domestic production, being made by a company called Ranger, and sold under Interarms until 1999.

    I have a S&W manufactured one that I’ve been very pleased with. I know they get a lot of hate, but most of it is from people who’ve never handled or fired one. Mine has been 100% reliable with a wide variety of ammo. I actually wanted a S&W manufactured one and sought it out for awhile. Got the last one my local Cabela’s a few years ago. I’m not 100% certain, but I’ve read & been told by people I consider quite reputable that the frame and possibly the slide, but I think 🤔 more than likely the frame was cast by Ruger. If that’s true you have a Walther that’s made by S&W & Ruger together. I do have to say that a lot of the appeal of this gun is the historical & “cool” factor. It is not the most comfortable gun to shoot. In fact it’s downright painful. I know it’s “only a 380” but the recoil impulse & the fact that it’s a blowback really smack me in the web of my hand. I wear shooting gloves to alleviate that problem. It usually only takes a few rounds until my hand is bleeding pretty bad due to slide bite. Again, the gloves alleviate that as well. It also depends on the size of your hand & how you grip the pistol. Aside from that it’s a very historical & cool going to own & shoot. I’ve owned other PPK & PPK/S over the years in .32 & .380. Including German WW2 vintage ones. I’m not going to say that the S&W is as nice as some, but it’s as nice or nicer than some including Interarms manufactured ones.

    I have one of the old Interarms PPK/S 380’s I bought back in the late eighties. It’s been a great little gun and I don’t remember it ever jamming on me. It’s accurate, too. I think the recoil is a bit stiff, though, because of the simple blow-back operation, compared to some of the Sig locked breech 380’s. I have two of those, but I will never give up my Walther. One of my very first guns.

      I just got one recently myself, courtesy of my old man, pretty sure it is also an interarms version, excellent little pistol, feels great in the hand, and since it only holds 6 rounds I dont need to worry about running afoul with my state's magazine bans on anything over 10 rounds, havent had the chance to shoot it yet tho.
      curious tho, does it being stainless steel automatically make it a ppk/s? or does that designation refer to newer production pistols while the older ones were just called ppk? the original paperwork I have that was with the gun refers to it as ppk, rather than pp or ppk/s, so I was wondering if that couldve been a mistake on the part of whatever guy that originally sold it to my dad, or this is correct? Ive asked my old man about it but due to his old age, his memory isnt so good, so he doesnt remember.

      I just purchased one, cleaned it and took it to the range. I must say I was surprised that Beretta9mm thought it absorbed the recoil well. I shoot pistols every week and was very disappointed with the harsh recoil and the cut in the web of my shooting hand. It's a great size for carry (though a little heavy) but I will stick with my 9mm shield--it has less felt recoil. BTW both my Glock 42 (smaller and lighter) and my wife's shield 380 EZ also have noticeably less felt recoil. Would not recommend this for a female unless she is very accomplished. Just saying.

Sent it to Walther twice and both times they sent it back saying it runs fine with "friendly" reminders to use factory ammo (which I have been). Now I'm facing the opportunity to replace it with one of the newer models but it will set me back a few hundred and I'm hesitant already between having one lemon now and whether I'll actually get good customer support from Walther should anything go wrong with the new one.

      Initially the design goes back to the 1930s in the Walther PP which looks nearly identical to the incredible design of the PPK in 6+1 which later inched up to the PPK/S in 7+1. Just guessing that's why it comes with two magazines. If you want a 10 shot you start loosing the concealability and the design changes to a more bulky and heavier unit with a bigger doublestack handle. The PPK or PPK/S is nearly flawless imho...my only regret is not buying one in the mid 80s when I saw it for the first time...I made the mistake of being influenced by a friend that talked me into 45acp although i love my ss S&W one of these days a SS PPK/S will grace my collection.

    • @BERETTA9mmUSA
      @BERETTA9mmUSA  ปีที่แล้ว

      I would relegate it to lighter use IE lower round counts in practice… 50 rounds and not 200 or 250 would be fine. This also applies to carry rounds…. Practice with 3 or 4 magazines full and if running 100% then stop. Not 100 or 200 rounds. Make sure you are Watching for any unwanted wear & tear at cleanings after range use. That is just my opinion.

I was first introduced to the PPK watching Bond and WW2 movies as a kid, and had no idea the PP even existed until I was much older. I have to admit, after seeing the PP, the PPK looks odd... like one of those Walther P38's with the barrel chopped off or drastically shortened.. I still like the PPK, of course, but I prefer the contours of it's bigger brother. It just looks more right to me... and feels more right in the hand.

      Walther Creed I hope they will add it to your approved list. We have a future “No AR15 or AK47” fight in our near future if the Democrats get elected coming up Nest November. Every Democratic Candidate says they will collect them from the millions of Lawful Owners. Do you see a problem with that? Controlling Times we live in my friend. Good Luck. BerettaSr.

      @@BERETTA9mmUSA Even here, we (sports shooters, and only us) can still have semi automatics rifles so, I guess some democrats have spoken without realising what they said. They are two major problems with firearms : some people should not be able to have access to them (mental / violence ... extremisme) despite the 2nd, and too often, media forget to remind the fact than most of the times, illegal fireamrs are used to commit crimes... so, gun control start here... for me it's not a matter of politics, it's just common sense ... I am not a specialist in USA laws (but i read a lot about) but I found something interesting : New York. It's democrat since a very long time and the city gives council carry to allmost anyone who asks... using the "May issue" fact. So, it's prouves some democrats are not against weapons, after all :) --> common sense !

      It is not anout them thinking you are a terrorist.That is the excuse It is about the government not wanting you to use them to secure your God given freedoms with them.I other words they do not want you finding out the truth and shooting them for their crimes.

    The old ones really only fed ball ammo reliably. I own a PPK made in 2011 and it runs everything I feed it. Nice pistol but, a bit on the expensive side to EDC.

    With a high grip on this pistol your support hand could cause the ftf. Thumb slows down the slide just enough. Next time you shoot it hold thumb off to the side. See how that works for ya
