This is a great inspiration video for planning out my family’s summer vacation. Great tips too! I must say that 12X12 is my favorite size but I have done 81/2X11 & 8X8 in the past. Love your videos Jayma!

I was actually surprised at how many photos I could fit. I think the biggest difference is that there’s not as much room for embellishing but it’s definitely fun for a change. I love when my kids look thru our albums so hoping this helps.
I love this layout Jayma. I have so many great Smoky Mountain pictures and this helps me figure out how to get more pictures on a page. Thank you. I'm typically a 12 x 12 2-page layout person, but I'm not opposed to trying something different.
I love how you added so many photos on this layout, 8.5x11 is a neat format but if you have lots of photos 12x12 gives you that additional space to add more embellishments.
For sure! I think 12x12 is more fun to design but this is definitely fun for a change!

I normally do 12x12 pages but I’m currently working on a special 8-1/2x11 scrapbook of our precious dachshund Abbie who passed in February. She was 16-1/2 years old and we really miss her. I’m making the scrapbook for my husband for Father’s Day. Love watching your videos. Your pages always look so neat!
Aw I’m so sorry to hear about Abbie. It took me a year to be able to do a scrapbook of my dog when he passed away, but once I did it was a very therapeutic process. Don’t be afraid to let the tears flow!!! It is a priceless keepsake. I am sure your husband will appreciate it. Hugs!!
I exclusively do 8 1/2” albums. I have done 21 volumes so far of my family history. I started with my family history going back to 1820ish and have gotten through 1978 so far. I prefer that size because they fit on my bookcase shelves best. I enjoyed your presentation. I started with CM 20 years ago.
That is so awesome! I love how this size fits on a bookshelf too…and way easier to handle!! I do love the real estate of a 12x12 album, but I’ve had a lot of fun with 8.5” too!

I love Gatlinburg…went as a kid on a family vacation. My husband and I went there for our honeymoon and in 2021 we went back with my step son and parents. ❤

I have only ever scrapbooked in 12x12, 6x6 or 6x8 sizes. The 8.5x11 is interesting to me because it seems like a nice size to work with, that I am getting inspired to create with this collaboration series!
strictly a 12x12 scrapbooker.. anything smaller intimidates me but your layout gives me inspiration for a 12 x 12 layout. I love this paper.

Hello Jayma, I have not tried scrapbooking a 81/2 X 11 album. I would not be opposed to it. In fact I like your thought of using 81/2 x 11 for travel albums. Thank you for all you do for the Scrapbooking community. I truly enjoy all your videos.
I definitely prefer 12x12 but this size is fun for a change and for the vacation albums. Glad you enjoyed!

I'm mostly a 12x12 scrapbooker but do have a few different sizes that are project life style.
I usually do 12 x 12 scrapbooks but I have done 8 x8 , 6 x 8 for gifts. Your pages always turn out so nice and I must confess I’ve scrap lifted many of your pages. 💕

I mostly scrapbook with 12x12 because I tend to have so many pictures, especially from vacation trips! I like your layout as well as your tips for choosing your vacation photos. I live 3 hours southwest of Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge. We love taking vacations there and have another trip planned for the fall of this year (and I will be visiting the scrapbook store as well). We went 2 years ago when the whole area was decorated for Christmas. I highly recommend going during that time if you can because it is beautiful!

I normally scrapbook 12x12 but have done 6x8 for December Daily. I'm going to stick to 12x12 for vacation albums ,simply because of 5he sheer volume of photos, but I regularly put 8.5 x 11 pages in my 12x12 albums. Thanks for the chance to win the stamp set!

I am a devoted 12 x 12” scrapbooks. I’ve found I really love the way they line up all even in a row in succeeding rows. They are manageable but not too heavy and yet give me room for more pictures!

Beautiful pages! I typically scrapbook 12 X 12 pages because I like a lot of photos per page AND pretty embellishments. That said, I bought 8 1/2 X 11 albums years ago to scrapbook my son’s school photos. With the design team’s tips on printing smaller photos on my Canon SELPHY, I can now make use of those smaller albums by using smaller photos and still have room for embellishments and journaling. Thanks for the inspiration!

I mostly do only 12x12 pages but I have done smaller pages for albums of specific special things (8x8 page album for a young friend, 8.5x11 pages for a graduation album). Your pages turned out very nice but I mostly use 4x6 and 6x4 photos rather than small ones making the larger pages better for me. Thanks for sharing.

This looks so good! The first scrapbook page I started and finished was 8 1/2 by 11 and I always felt like I didn’t have enough room. Most pages were not double page spreads though and I do think that helps but I didn’t have any way to resize my photos either so all of them were 4 X 6 and it was a very important trip for me and so I didn’t want to leave out any photos. It took me 20 years to finish! I didn’t worry about it, just worked on it when I could or wanted to. Anytime I had an opportunity to scrap, that’s what I worked on. Basically it was only crops and retreats that I pulled it out. I love it even though it has a few different styles! I think the way to make that size work is definitely being able to resize photos, using flip flaps and doing double spreads.
I am glad you plugged away and got it done! Smaller photos definitely helps. Once I started printing smaller than 4x6 it totally changed the way I scrap!
I like scrapbooking the smaller 6x8 albums, but occasionally I do 12x12. I can't wait to give the 8.5x11 a spin
I did the 8 1/2 x11 for a babies first year calendar album many years ago. Now I just do 12 x 12. Love your pages!!
I only use 8.5x11 layouts. I’ve been scrapping for 25 years and never went to 12x12. Lol.

I am a 81/2 x 11 scrapper. I always scrapped 12x12 but I don’t have a lot of places I can display my albums thats when I decided to try 81/2x11, and I love it. I love your layout!!

I mostly do 12 x 12 scrapbooks, but I have done 8 1/2 x 11, 8 x 8, 7 x 7. It is difficult for me to cut a beautiful 12 x 12 paper for a smaller size album. I love all of your creative ideas and especially your outdoor layouts!

After watching this video gave me a great idea to make a 8 /12 x 11 of our home improvements. I normally do 12x12 and thought that it was going to be just to much, but this is a great size.

I love this layout! I have 2 different 8 1/2 x 11 books started! I love doing them! Mostly I do 12 x 12 but I have thought about changing strictly to 8 1/2 x 11 just for space reasons.

I am a 8 1/2 by 11 scrabooker but , I also am a 12 by 12 scrapbooker. I am working on an album for my sister of her little daughter.
I have done many different scrapbooks and find that I do 12x12 the most but for trips and single events the smaller ones come together so quickly. And I like that! Thanks for your videos and tips. It's always nice to get others' perspectives.

I have a hard time pulling trigger in 8.5 x 11. I don’t think it will be big enough….but maybe for our pupper’s book.

Most of my albums are 12x12. But I have a half a dozen 8 1/2 x11 albums just waiting for the right project. Traditionally I have included my vacation photos with our family albums but I’ve learned so many new techniques that I’m thinking of doing just vacation albums with my duplicate photos that we leave out to share.
That sounds like a great plan. I like to give vacations their own album just bc there are so many photos, it takes up so much space in the family album. Unless it’s a weekend vacay or something with fewer photos.
I started out in 8.5x11 and I loved the size! Once the 12x12 got big, I changed to that size, but I would be super interested in trying 8.5x11 again! I’m going to check out the sketch book too! ❤

I don't use that smaller size album as I think they are harder to work with.. I love the Smokey Mountains. I've been there several times.
I really enjoyed how you use a sketch book. That was not on my radar and I haven’t used a sketch book yet.
I have not tried 8 1/2 x 11. I have tried 6 x 8 but now mostly 12 x 12. This is going to be a great album!
Although I love 12 by 12 layouts I prefer a smaller size for storage reasons…I would consider doing 8.5 by 11 but am currently doing 6 by 8 more often!

I was thrilled to see this tutorial because last year we also went to Tennessee (and Kentucky) on vacation. We stayed in Gatlinburg for several nights and hiked in the mountains. Loved it! I'm bummed though, because I didn't know about the scrapbooking store in Pigeon Forge. Maybe next time!?

Ha! We were in Tennessee (including Gatlinburg) in May of 2021!! I did a 12x12 of that vacation... way too many photos for that trip!
How funny! We were in July. I think if our trip was any longer it’d need to be 12x12. It was only 5 days. I want to go back for longer!
I have done a lot of scrapbook sizes and 8 1/2 x 11 is one of them. Depends on how many pics I want to scrapbook.
I started out using 8.5x11 in 1995. I slowly moved to 12x12 but will make 8.5x11 albums as gift albums. I think I need this collection. Beautiful layout!
I’ve been scrapbooking since 2001 so I have filled many many albums (mostly 12x12). Because of the cost of 12x12 albums and the amount of space they were taking up, I made the decision in 2018 that all my layouts from 2018 forward would be 8.5x11. If I feel a real desire to create a 12x12 page, I simply find pictures from before 2018. 8.5x11 albums (at least the kind I use) are SO much cheaper and much more light weight. Not to mention, creating no the pages is faster for me than 12x12 pages.
That sounds like a great strategy for you! I am sure you have lots of photos from before 2018 if you feel like 12x12. I have definitely seen a difference at how much faster this size comes together. There is not as much space for embellishing which can be a pro and con. Makes it faster to come together bc I spend so much time fussing with embellishments. But I also love that part of the process…it’s just different types approaches!
I currently only do 12x12 pages but have been thinking of moving this next generation of my family to 8 1/2 by 11 size pages. This was very inspiring.

I started scrapbooking with 8 1/2 x 11 for my daughter’s book then went to 12 x 12 for my album but lately I wanted to do like an 8 1/2 x 11 everyday theme kinda like project life
Up a 12X12 scrapper, but I purchased this sketchbook and can mount the8 1/2X11 onto a 12” or figure out how to change it! Love your layout!!!
Yes you definitely can do that! I love that look.
I scrap in 12x12, but if I have more photos than a 12x24 spread then I make a 9x12 or other combo and sandwich them between the two 12x12 pages. That way I know that everything between the two 12x12’s is part of the same trip, event, weekend, etc.
I do that too! I love the Pocket Plus inserts for between a 12x12 spread.
Love the layout! I’ve only ever been a 12x12 scrapbooker. I usually don’t have enough room for all the pics and embellishments I want on a page using that size so I’m not sure I could ever make an 8 1/2 x 11 work!
It’s definitely harder to fit the fun embellishments on a smaller size! It’s fun for a change but I’m with you, I prefer the 12x12 size.
I love what you do and it makes me think l would try that size but in truth l have never done anything but 12x12 so will probably continue to do that 😂 l am super excited that a 12x12 sketch book maybe coming 🎉

The 12x12 is definitely not a small footprint! I love how easy this size is to handle. It’s been fun to do this size for a change but I really love the 12x12 size 😅
I’m a 12x12 scrapper. I have done a few 8x8 for gifts. I’m considering printing photos from home, but not quite there yet.
It’s a game-changer. But you’ve gotta be ready for it 😊
I am interested I. doing a 81/2 x 11 album for my grandsons pictures. I think it will be easier to handle. Also, I seem to have quite a number of misc type photos taken of daily living so I think they will be a better fit for the smaller size album.
My first Disney album was 8.5 x 11!
