Don't forget they tuned to a completely different A than they do now! The A they tuned to was believed to be around A415 (which is a half step lower). They were just trying to have a period performance.
Excellent harpsichord playing! What's more, the violinist has a good, clear, resonant tone while also applying a bit of judicial vibrato here and there. Very well done! As has already been asked (but not answered), I also ask: who are the players?
It seems that the recording lowered the pitch, as the second note clearly sounds like an open string (E string) lowered a whole tone. Also, if you listen to the second movement there is a few F2 (one tone lower than the lowest tone of the violin, the open G). Due to the impossibility of lowering the G string a whole tone (it needs more tension), it's pretty sure that the tone down is a recording matter.

Beautiful performance! Who is playing?
Click Bio ;)
8:15 giga is the best
Beautiful sound. May be more fantasy in embellishments in slow movements? Very good harpsichordist. The pitch is 395 (so seems in d minor...)?
Hight insights like bachs chacconne.
Ma gli italiani non ascoltano Corelli?
Certo che si!!! =D
Stefania Giannotta io ci sono!
Presente :)
