We're finally back to Norcal Cycling's bread and butter. Happy you're back racing, doing clear concise commentary, and pushing the channel back to it's roots.
Alan (marangoni) is an ex pro which rode 7 grand tours mainly as a domestique and a breakaway rider. Even if he's not as fit as it's former self it's pretty nice that he was able to stick with the P1/2 field. He's not only a pretty good rider, he's also a very talented presenter!
I just been getting into cycling and been absolutely binge watching your stuff for this past week, even on rest days I just want to smash some of my segment prs watching your content. Thanks for the content and the motivation to get more fit!
I noticed GCN are showing the Audi Denver Littleton Twilight Criterium, so they are certainly getting involved in the US scene a bit. They also showed some of the NCL series I think.
As usual another good video. Are you doing another video on your Cervelo Soloist now that you've been riding it for a while? I'm about to pull the trigger.
I freakin' LOVE watching your videos. I am a triathlete and am always so impressed at the bike handling skills from you and your competitors. Also, I am from Florida and in the same way northerners think it's funny when Floridians complain about winter cold (30-50°f😂), I love it hearing people from up North and California complain about the heat and humidity. I was just in Milwaukee for a race and was impressed at how amazing the weather felt. When I heard everyone else complaining how humid it was, I could only chuckle. 😅 Anyways, keep up the great content. You rock!
@@leod4315 that's obviously what I was referring to. Clearly aerodynamic advantage, like running 2 water bottles on the downtube for Crits for Aero advantage. I think Roman for sure knew what he was doing with this seat-bag fairing to enhance his bicycle's aerodynamics to help cut through the wind while racing, creating less drag. Roman is a pro and no way that bag is not on there for a reason, he is the king of marginal gains! 🤔😉
So at the last corner where project 74 led you out, why did you deem it necessary to catch back up to Roman ie chase your own teammate? Project 74 was not really represented in the chase and there was a possibility you might tow them back/lead them out in the process of doing so and get passed before the line. (like what Sam nearly demonstrated)
my only DNF of the series 🤦♂️ pulled the plug with about 10 to go, just couldn't figure out that course. also i was cooked medium well within the first 10 min in that heat
Chicago gets nearly as humid as central Florida. We are basically a swamp. Inland Florida is hotter, I found the coasts to be more tolerable. Source: I've lived in St. Pete, Gainesville, and Chicago.
In fairness, the dude was out of the race, coasting, not trying to stay with the group. Looks like he got on the sidewalk to get out of potentially causing a crash.

Welcome aboard!
Some close calls there..rear cam at 10:30 for example
The bugs you hear are called cicadas. Great commentary as always!
I was just about to comment about the cicadas also!
stoked to see the footage from intelligentsia. it was awesome to get to meet you in person after the winfield race!
Oh man i never thought I'd EVER see Alan Marangoni on a crit with you lol
I lol'd when I saw Matt take advantage of that hesitation with that acceleration. Such a savvy move in the midst of chaos
Love the Colnago Alan from GCN is on!
12:17 - Jeff can you please chat with Roman and get his socks sorted…like we all know that good sock height is worth 3 watts more.
So far I love this bike. Great quality.

Winning with a saddle bag, rolled down aero socks, legend.
Love the organic back of the van sponsor spot 👌
the speed of red dude into the last corner, damnnn
It was a pleasure to race with you Jeff! See you next year!😜💪🏼
Same to you Alan, and I enjoyed your video even though I don't speak Italian 🤙

That was INTENSE!

Thank you so much!!!
It looks like Roman tried aero socks for the first time and they slipped down. Pro tip: KT tape adhesive spray. You’re welcome.
You need to tell Roman to ditch those socks
They look like those little girl socks you can get, with the lace frills around the top 😆❤
Too many cyclists care too much about socks 🥱
way ahead of you. Figured I would try them
Hey, got to see you race in Lake Bluff this weekend! Which Intelligentsia course is your favorite?
“Short course and lots of riders” - uk youth crit : 700m course / 90r iders
Dylan with the saddle bag for style points!
Sam got some crazy legs. What a specimen!
This man inspires me, racing and doing the voiceover at the same time? Truly motivational(this is a joke please don't execute me 😭🙏)
😂
From behind Roman is quite Aero. Classic pedaling technique and very favorable arerodynamic advantages to his pedaling style and form. 👍
Looking good sprinting with a seat bag!

#7? That's the one that was cancelled, in Elgin?
sounds like a normal kermesse sprint in Belgium, except the leadouts part, nobody rides for anyone here :D
Ill fated long dig from Matt at the end. All too relatable :(
Check that HR from 15:45 to 15:58. That's wild.
What is HR?
@@_rcs Human Resources.
I've just realised it's Heart Rate 😄

at that point it was just sprinting for minor placings, plus, i thought i had a reasonable chance at catching the lead 2 riders (4th and 5th)
what are the tyres that you use
Is that one CCB rider using V-brakes???
Hi Jeff, where can I buy your kit?
Most elite teams do not sell their kit to people not on the team. (even non-elite)
@@billkallas1762 I see. I thought it would have been a way of supporting them. Thanks !
What video editing software do you use?
dashware for the overlays and stuff, adobe creative cloud for the rest (mostly premiere pro)
Jeff where did you end up at Brookfield race?
my only DNF of the series 🤦♂️ pulled the plug with about 10 to go, just couldn't figure out that course. also i was cooked medium well within the first 10 min in that heat
@@NorCalCycling Those Intelligentsia races looked tough.....Really Tough. (Like Tulsa Tough, tough)
Nice vid
Yohooi
It cracks me up when people say it is hot while they are riding in the north. Shout out from Florida.

that was your fault. Just cause you have the speed to cut him doesn’t mean you have to. You ran him off

Rim brake bikes: blue/white Giant, black/white CAAD10. Any else?
true or false, smaller rider go faster in crits because they can draft and have lower center of gravity on corners? #nodayjob

your woman must be happy ;)
Don’t lie… the lmnt taste horrible 😅
your teammate looks like a scrub with those socks. I guess its acceptable if he has varicose veins tho.
yeah, not ideal
love the videos, still gob smacked you're so financially desperate to have to interrupt it these days with advertising. seriously?
Are you new to TH-cam?
Man oh man...some sketchy, squirrely riders in that pack!🙄😂
