    I've really enjoyed watching you rebuild this heap of junk. Very much like the heap of junk 77 Swinger my Father in Law and I rebuilt back in 1984. It was fun , helped us learn lots about each other and built a relationship that lasted 34 wonderful years. Also as I said lots of fun talking Philosophy on the Roof of the thing with a very dear Doctor friend in the late night hours. I had always wondered up to that point why I took it. Those were wonderful times and I miss them now. This junk will absolutely be your treasure soon. I hope you keep it for a long time to come and enjoy it and have many Adventures in it to show us!

    The easiest option for your fridge, is a lift up counter top which hinges simply above. Far easier access from above, and no pulling a big piece of furniture in and out 😊🙏

    • @sukantpanigrahi76
      @sukantpanigrahi76 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Actually, if you check the early videos you'll notice that the previous fridge used to occupy a space in an entire column of a cabinet. They took down the cabinets entirely. Now they've put a fridge there but they still need to utilise the space above it by building cabinets there. The best option is the have the box fridge in a pull out mechanism. If they did a lift up counter it would be a waste of space.

    • @melissabreedlove8211
      @melissabreedlove8211 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sukant Panigrahi ..just curious how u feel it wld be a waste of space? The lift up counter wld allow them to lift the counter like a washing machine door.. and still be able to use the counter top to prep food or something of that nature.. and they can still have cabinets above.

    The frame under the fridge cabinet needs to have the longer horizontal wood above and the shorter vertical pieces supporting the horizontal piece for even weight distribution. It's the same with framing a wall in a house.

    Use drawer slides made for a car mechanics tool box! They are MUCH heavier built and made to hold up 200+ pounds of weight! Some even have built in resistance when closed to help keep them from opening when you don't want them to going down the road! Regular home cabinet slides won't take the road abuse, vibration, and weight of the fridge (unfortunately I'm speaking from experience! lol! 😪). I would suggest a "boxed" style slide tray that the fridge sits down into to help keep it from falling out during road vibration, bumps, and curves in the road, and also so you can make the sides tall enough to put 2 slides on each side, or 1 on each side and 2 on the bottom so it can sit flat and have the bottom supported, to give a little extra support and protection plus stop any twisting caused by stop and go driving making it want to go side to side during long term road use! Definitely get a couple of either push or pull style drawer stop locks made for RV cabinets on the drawer itself, not just the door covering it, (and all the other doors! lol!) to keep it locked in place while driving because that's a good amount of weight to hold in place! P.S. - MAKE SURE the RV is sitting completely level when you install all the drawers so that they aren't angled down while driving and want to slide out putting extra pressure on the door/drawer stops holding them in! One more thing, I know you want to keep down weight in there but don't use pine wood for the drawer tray because it will split easier at the screw holes than a hardwood or thick plywood with that weight and bouncing from the road! GREAT job you guys are doing and love your Vlogs!! 😀🥳👏👍

    We do want to see your adventures but we really want to see your adventures in the RV you custom built. Treat it like a boat maybe and get it sealed from the weather on the outside and leave the inside a little rough. Might even be good to use the RV a bit before you finalize some of the interior details, so you know where you want things and what you do and don't need a little better.

Like idea of very windproof rammed earth pillars for a drive through pavillion that has sturdy tied down rafter roof. Maybe concrete anchor points for rv during spring tornado weather. Looks good and liked low energy arb with freezor. Good for unpredictable road drives, less stress, as hard on usual compressors.

    A very healthy approach to work on RV and travel! Can imagine that progress on RV can sometimes be demoralizing and what better way to take breaks than with travel!! Can't wait to see more of your road trip adventures!

    You two are doing a great job putting that RV back together. There’s no way my husband and I could survive boondocking with one of those little refrigerator drawers. We would have to live on canned and packaged food when the fresh ran out...yuck. Besides, what you want is always on the bottom! You have to keep it open to dig through and remove stuff to get below the top so it actually loses just as much (if not more) refrigeration as a vertical, plus stuff warms up every time you have to take stuff out to dig for the other stuff, which you don’t have with the vertical where you can see what you want. I had a cabinet freezer once and replaced it with a vertical, so much less hassle.

    I start getting anxious wondering when your next video will show up. The last couple of days I have been watching like a hawk for it! Was awesome to see it this morning! Like everyone else who is following the progress of your build, this has been really awesome to watch the transformation. Eric, your comments about getting out and how some people want to see you return to that...when you think about it...it is sad that you all haven't been able to travel like you normally do. I really do miss the travel aspect of your videos. BUT...what you guys are doing now is really great and I think that this has allowed you two to grow and develop your skills into a niche that will make you all even more fun to watch. Especially now that you have spent the time with the renovation project, you can appreciate the amount of work it takes to restore something. And, in the future when you start shooting videos in it on the road, all of us that have watched this from the start will have a deep appreciation for what you all have been able to accomplish. That's a feather in your cap! Like I have commented previously about your recent trip to the farm...seeing your travel smiles return is something that we all look forward to as well. Thank you so much for sharing all of this with us. I truly enjoy your adventures...even if they are to a local store to buy hardware!

    For the ARB fridge you may want to look on their website for the ARB power socket, it may be a better option at powering the fridge instead of the traditional cigarette socket. 👍🏼
