RV Renovation Ep. 21 - Finally Laying NEW CARPET in the Cab!

- We're back in the RV and finally tackling the driver's cab! We ripped out all the old, nasty carpet, scrubbed and cleaned it up, then laid brand new carpet. It definitely took way longer than anticipated, but we’re so happy knowing that everything is fresh and squeaky clean up there now!

after getting inspired by you all - I got my 93' RV a few months ago, did some major renovations, and finally took her out last weekend! it was a ton of work, but very worth it! Don't get caught up over-engineering every little thing, and take her out asap!

You guys have been together since I was 9 years old (2003). Lol that's wild. But also very wholesome. It's very rare for people to stay with, let alone marry their childhood/high school sweethearts these days.
I’m continuously surprised by how much work and research y’all are putting in to making this rv perfect. I have so much respect for y’all.
When you eventually replace those seats, I would consider looking for ones with integrated seatbelts. It looks like those only have lap belts and it also looks like there’s no airbags in that car (at least not on the driver side). I would imagine that integrated seatbelts in a new chair would be the easiest way of getting shoulder belts in there and you would be much safer!

That carpet turned out awesome, I figured you'd power through it, but it looks professionally done.
This series emphasises how home improvements work in actuality:
* The little stuff takes much longer than you think
* nothing seems to happen for ages so people question if you have done anything and you give them a thousand yard stare
* in one day so much stuff happens and the same people ask if you have rushed it
* you get asked a hundred times why you didn't hire a professional
In the end... Doing it yourself you are sooo proud of the work, learn so much and know its done RIGHT.

Aw...your marriage is an awkward 7th grader. Happy Anniversary! The modern anniversary gift for 13 is textiles so the van projects with the cab carpet and chairs were spot on (it turned out so great!). And Happy Birthday to Eric! Have a fun trip out east! If you’re in Atlanta, go to the Atlanta Breakfast Club downtown. They’re only open for breakfast and lunch but it is SO FREAKING GOOD and the owners are incredible people.

I highly recommend taking those chairs to an auto upholstery shop and getting the fabric and foam replaced. You won’t regret it.

Saw that little foot button on the driver's side floor. Bet most younger folk don't know what it's for, but it is the dimmer switch for your high and low beam headlights. One of the reasons that function got moved to a stalk on the column is that those switches got all the crud tracked in on shoes and boots so tended to fail more often. So be aware to leave access open to switch it out if need be.
