This man has captured everything holding this country down is this interview, restructuring & cracking the Central back to a region will helps alot.
God bless you God bless you you and Dale are always speaking my mind ....
Any one opposing restructuring is an arch enemy of Nigeria
That was well analysed 💯
We can't continue to postpone the evil day. Restructuring is simply the way out of the doldrums for Nigeria.
This is what i have been talking about, unfortunately many young people seem not to understand the idea of restructuring. Let every region control their resources, in that way, the governors or regional administrators will be accountable to it's citizens. That's Nigeria's pathway to greatness. Too much powers are vested/concentrated on the central government in this quasi federal system and it is the bane of administrative deficiency in our dear country.
Best option ever for every well meaning Nigerian.
But quite unfortunately the so called leaders says her unity is noon negotiable, all because of selfish gain.
But why did the civilians not returned it to federalism when the took charge,? Why why why, is it that a region benefits more from this system, or why?
Let them keep blaming Aguiyi Ironsi and not revert back to the original structure after successive governments came on board.
YES, WE NEED TRUE FEDERALISM THROUGH A PRAGMATIC RESTRUCTURING. AND FOR HUMAN CAPACITY DEVELOPMENT AND PATRIOTISM WE NEED AT LEAST A THREE YEARS COMPULSORY MILITARY SERVICE WITH SKILLS AQUICISION AFTER SECONDARY SCHOOL BEFORE GOING TO THE UNIVERSITY OR GETTING ANY EMPLOYMENT.CHEERS TO US ALL.
The ambassador has said everything that's needed to be said but would Nigeria leaders listen and be courageous to what is naturally the solution which is restructuring., the solution lies in Lancaster house agreement before the independent of Nigeria as country.
This guest is absolutely correct. The very posture for the citizenry in any democracy is one of distrust for government and holding government to account. In the absence of that what you have is probably a monarchy. What the gentleman is saying that we should go back to the original agreement that formed the basis of Nigeria. No matter how far you've gone down the wrong road, the only solution is to turn around and get back on the right track.
They maintained the same unitary constitution they killed Aguiyi -Ironsi for. It was only when Gowon took over that the North realized that a unitary system of government was the only constitution used by the military. There's no military take over in the world that doesn't start with the abrogation of a democratic constitution. No military government works on a democratic constitution,it doesn't work. A military government works on decrees and edicts, martial laws. That was what Gowon and his Northern clique later realized because they were advised by the British not to shoot themselves on the foot by removing the unitary constitution. How do you have a parliamentary or presidential constitution in a military rule. Those roles are performed by the supreme military council.
Restructuring is a right that must be returned back to the people. it is not a legislative privilege. it was stolen n should be returned. We are more than citizens, we are indiginous to this land. Restructuring as defined by our finding fathers!
Restructuring will be an ace for nigeria cos nigeria is so diverse, and does better when they are working based on each ethnic group and have the opportunity to work with another ethnic group,it will help to boost developement in every corner of your country.
Is nigeria more diverse than America?
Where states control their resources. Have states and local police,.
In the USA the police chiefs comes from the states and the cities where they dwell.
You don't have police chief in Newyork coming from state of New Jersey or Oklahoma. Like you have police chief from Benue as the police commissioner or boss in Delta or Anambra state .
That why the country is not working.
I had always thought that Nigeria should go back to the 1960 type of governance with the six geo-political zones being the federal units
I crying out my lungs this very particular point. Nigeria's federalism was truncated on January 15 1966
Successive governments refused to revert to the old structure why ?
Thank you Honorable Orjiakor. Restructuring Nigeria is the only thing on the table. If there is to be anything left of this country then restructuring we must - common sense, history, justice and humanity tell us this.
Take the Swiss type of Federalism and your problems will be over😢
No nation of more than a few million people is best served by unitarism, federalism is always going to outperform.
The clamour for a reduction in the number of states is likely borne from the same sentiment that destroyed our federation in the 60s. Switzerland has less than 10 million people but is divided into 26 cantons(federating units). I cannot be convinced that 36 states(federating units) is too many for a nation of over 200 million people. Any attack on the number of our states is an obsession with small cheaper government at the detriment of the primary objective of government, which to be effective. Such people do not know nor care about the advantages of smaller teams over cumbersome larger ones(the real magic behind federalism). They are unitarists who would've supported the military goals of the 60s if not for the benefit of hindsight the last 60 years has afforded them.
The North would not allow restructring bc of Boko haram ...they would feel left behind and thats has been their argument lately...restructuring is the right thing to do but it wont also fly bc selfish politicians has hold the centre power and dont want to let it go
Nigeria need to be restructured, if it is to continue as a country.
Was this restructuring something you wanted before or after the election? Some of us were telling una say una mumu don do… na so una yab us, dey call us agents, carry una head go dey follow vote for sham election of “selected”candidates
@@tmajecbut all these thieves will never want Nigeria to be restructured ..it won't favor them
@@Tade734 now that you know that they politicians “won’t allow”, so what do you do? Wait for God and Jesus? Show dem the next election? Una no get any ideology to give a solid foundation for the next step but rather, waiting on some saviors.
@@tmajec you all know the only way out is revolution that you all have been avoiding , sowore has already told you people countless times ..all these criminal politicians won't leave power easily ..
We do not need restructuring of our system of Government, It's like saying remodeling a house is the solution to a dirty house, no we need house cleaning.
It's easy to blame the Northerners but is the North responsible for the Governors of my state and your state who fail repeatedly to produce divident of democracy?
Niger delter development commission was set up, and 95% of the people running that ministry comes from Niger delta, yet it's one of the most corrupt Government agencies today delivering zero development to it's people & yet successive leaders of that commission have sighoned billions.
Now, is that the fault of another man from Katsina?
You see, everyone is part of the problem all tribes including mine, the truth is, no one is innocent.
Let's be straight with our analysis, to restructure Nigeria, its a taske and the responsibility of the law makers not the president. bcos it has to do with the constitution which the president don't have a constitution power over. So instead of pushing the narrative to the president, pls channel it to your lawmakers ( legislative arm of Government). ...
We like deceiving ourselves in this nation, what is the meaning of restructuring? We don't have structural problem, our system of Government is one of the best in the world.
The lack of regard for the rule of law, and endemic corruption is the problem, it's a moral crisis, we have laws, but nobody obeys the law anymore.
The only thing we may need to tweak around a little bit is financial autonomy for all the 36 states, let States inland revenue service collect tax and not federal inland revenue service. Then each states & by extention each ethnic group will have financial autonomy instead of rubbing Peter to pay Paul that we are currently experiencing
I agree with you bro, good idea, however, ideally we Igbos would love to have our S/E region and do things on our own and then any other region maybe like your own S/W region that wants to remain as state structure remain so as you have well suggested, thank you.
Restructuring Nigeria is only a myth and fantasy at this juncture, as I don't see Nigeria going past the next 4 years, all indications prove so, from population rate overwhelming the nations GDP rate, the much seeded tribal hate of the North against the Easterners vice versa over the years, the religious agitations of Boko Haram in the North that has overstretched the Nigerian Army and Nigeria's finances to the redundancies and extinction of many Northern and possibly S/W states other than Lagos and maybe Ogun State due to your recommendation of State financial autonomy since they primarily depend only on crude oil and gas mostly from the so called South South region and some from the South East.
This should be the most important issue to be discussed and attended to. Your introduction was very apt. If Tinubu cannot face this ten he should be removed an an interim govt should come in or a coup with the single purpose of establishing this detailing major aspects of it. This is the root of Nigeria's problems. Radical planned change or a forceful change most come. A tailor Will plan design a cut a fabric into a beautiful dress. A quack will take a dress a pull it apart forcefully a the fabric tears in the way that makes the fabric useless. PLEASE Let Us Seat Calmly and use the next next one year to singularly implement this existentialism of Nigeria.
Nigeria does not need Restructuring anymore but urgent Re-negotiation, Re- construction, and Re- configuration. We can't contain the Fulani Conquest Agenda anymore. Nigeria Indigenous Nationalities Alliance for Self Determination, NINAS has provided the plan and strategy for Nigeria's urgent reset!!!
Igbos Military officers caused the problems yet you are demonizing Fulani. What a shame..
@moham.279 I hope you're still with your sense of history. Can you explain how Igbo military officers did the deed? Have you forgotten what your father Ahmadu Bello said on the 12th of October, 1960? Go back to your history now and stop your hate on Igbo people.
@@ifechinwadi9418 why don’t you remind me so I can explain to you what he meant so knuckleheads like you will understand because so of you are clueless and stop being sentimental..
Very interesting conversation! But they will say its igbo man talking ...I never see a northern man speaks up on this...
This is the only way Nigeria could survive this chaotic mess we find ourselves, Belgium is only 11millon people but they are in real federalism even going to Confederacy. Wake up Nigeria.
If we don't radically restructure this country...we are going to see worse things.Period.🤣😢😅🙄
What we need right now is separation we don't need any restructuring, let everybody go their own separate way before Nigeria was created.
The vice president Shitema say resurcture my foot the north will collapse
No he is not and would never be that person to lead Nigeria to its prominent heights again.
of course, he will never mention the names of the people who violated the structure, he will always call them the name 'the military'.
Don’t mind them. Some of them think we don’t know history..
To solve a problem, you first identify the problem and then the possible solution(s). In Nigeria, it is the reverse, namely, identify solution (which is what restructuring is) and then identify the possible problem to fit the solution. So unscientific or un-engineering way of solving problems.
)
The person that truncated it was a Man known as Johnson Aguiyi-Ironsi an Igbo man. He made major three missteps that still cause us till date. 1 truncated federalism . 2, The first coup de'tate military men, made up 8 igbos and 1 Yoruba who was not so clear if he was for or against the coup and was assassinated in the process of the coup de'tat where all rendering scout free ( Aguiyi-Ironsi sent them all to the Eastern region). 3, He forcefully became the Head of State instead of the Chief Judge of Nigeria. He also appointed Ojukwu as the governor of the Eastern region. A good strategy would have be to have an Hausa governor to the East, Igbo man to the West, and West to the Northern region. Tribalism grows like wild fire 🔥 after his misteps.

@@kesteraren4779 Thank you bro.
Thank you very much for take us to memory lane.
The north the parasite will never never allow it to happen because the don't believe in them selves to survive
Absolutely. Better sooner than later.
Only the few benefiting this crooked system Will not see the urgency.
We are where we are today because Northern Nigeria does not really care for federalism; so they self-crafted a gratuitious centralized 'constitution'.
To this day, they are still peddling this poison pill.
but it was Aguyi nrosi that was scared, and moved control to the center so that other region dont overthrow him
Nigerian lawmakers should study the American federalism which Nigeria claim to copy but have never implemented the components of Federalism. Here in the US, America is made up of various religious, ethnic, and racial groups. It could be said that the US is the home of all the world ethnic groups. The 50 states of America runs like small 50 independent countries with the individual states broken down with each counties within the states having they own police department , water, sewer, fire departments and they own Electricity authority. This makes America one of the Greatest and powerful nation on Earth. No one could claim that American does not have it's short comings, but the American federal system of Democracy with Its checks and balances is one of the best Governmental system in the World. A Federal system of Government Structured on Today's Nigeria with a good Check and balances is the kind of System of Government Nigeria Need so badly. In America there is no state of Origin, once you are born in America, you could be a Governor or Senator of any State you want to reside in, as long as you meet the residency requirement of the State.
Stop playing bro, Nigerian law makers know all this but it can't be implemented because it's not of benefit for them when it comes to looting and getting re elected. True Federalism will open so many people's eyes and make them understand what good governance entails. From the history i gathered this is the main reason why Ojukwu was not allowed to set up the Biafra nation then.
Some of you now want restructuring abi? When some of us were saying the same thing a few years leading to the 2023 elections, then some of you suddenly thought whatever candidate you supported was going to save you 😂. Una mumu don do. Ntoor 😛
Thank you so much Orjiako but i can bet it that Tinubu cannot there the northerners whom believed that they have captured us as their subservient, he do not have such q liver
Before the racist colonialists came to violently forge the pseudo-country called Nigeria, all our 371 ethnic nations were sovereign and managing themselves for thousands of years in their own languages. We can have a Union of ethnic nations where each nation has its own Constitution and self-determination and the Union has mutual collaboration on 7 aspects - Migration, Foreign Affairs, Security, Transportation, Trade, Arbitration, Sports and Border Management. This is called the Orange Union as the evidence across the world has shown. This is the proposal of the Fatherland Group.
What is actually this RESTRUCTURING we are talking about?
Restructuring means each region governs itself, and makes decisions and laws that suits your region.
@@Evans-w8u thanks so much…but will corruption allows it to survive?

And Peter Obi who won? You guys can never be serious. If he really won he would’ve been in villa. You guys think you’re smart but you ain’t. If he was in the villa non of you would be shouting Biafra or any restructuring. You just want your tribesman in that seat of power but guess what, nothing will happen for the next 16 years. You must learn by fire by force. You can’t eat your cake & have it.
May nigeria continue to happen to you and your generation.
That January 15, 1966 was the stupidest idea ever to happen to Nigeria.
It led to Ironsi's unitary government and an unfortunate chain of opportunistic military coups and senseless ethnic wranglings and deep-seated hatred.
The perfect picture of Nigeria is federalism.
If anything went wrong with the regional government's true federalism before 1966, that concept of a military coup collapsing the regions into a unitary government was a catastrophically flat-footed idea.
It never should have happened!
OK bro since the truncation of the Nigerian Federal system, please what kept the subsequent Yoruba and Hausa/Fulanis Heads of States and Presidents from simply bringing back the Federal system that was earlier truncated, please kindly answer.
@@chimaezeenwerem8897
The rest of them who are as corrupt as Ironsi and everyone else in the mix got whiff of what he was trying to do and decided to keep it that way.
The idea that he would be the supreme leader of 250 ethnic groups and a nation state of over 200 million Nigerians is irresistibly appealing to the human mind, especially when vast oil wealth is involved.
The Hausa-Fulanis learned it from him and the Yorubas like the rest of the major tribes are continuing it.
It's why the studio guest is helplessly right. If Nigeria would stay as a nation state and survive successfully, it should be broken into truly federalist units.
Now that it has happened what is the way forward
The igbos destroyed our federalism. The north and east couldn’t compete with Awolowo, but the Igbos took it too far by forcing us into this unitary madness we are still suffering today! Western Nigeria would have been great without the East and North dragging us down in Nigeria. Western Nigeria had free education, free healthcare, first TV in Africa and before France and a strong tax based system.
Now you have the yam and the knife. Can you cut and deliver Nigeria? Shame on those stealing blaming the problem of Nigeria today on our more than 60 years past.
Shame that Rwanda has since progressed from Tutsis and Hutus and we are still here behaving like babies.
