Wow, thank you for my first super! And that was very generous! 🥹 This band did everything for me growing up, and I was at a point of just accepting that Linkin Park would never be back! So hearing/watching this brought my heart to a standstill, and overwhelming amount of joy!
@Tonylytics Thank you for this reaction, I have re-watched this video several times. I am from Russia and I am subscribed to you. I like you very much.
Cried for months when he left us.. crying now to see that are staying with what they were and are now.. EMILY is a wonder and does not try to replace Chester.. she takes us to a new decade .. LP forever
A lot of people cried when Emily hit the chorus because it became clear that Linkin Park are not only back but will be perfectly fine with her as co vocalist. That song is perfect...I only wanted to be part of something
Yep. She's fracking awesome. Not Chester.... But who the Hell ever could 2:35 be???? No. This gal is HOPE. Hope for a much needed resurrection for Linkin Park.
Count me on that group. The best thing they did was…. Instead of making a poll before anything, they made the first concert…. And there she is. I did. My last LP concert was Tampa, 2014.
Dude you don't have to apologize for getting emotional at that chorus..... This band has helped so many people through so many tough times and they have been gone for a long time. Losing Chester was a shock to all of us and now that they are coming back after so long, it's going to bring up some raw and intense emotions.
Thank you, and you're right! I remember where I was when I heard the news. I cried then too. Funny story actually (not really). A few weeks later, I went on a date with this girl (before I met my wife), and we ate at UNO's for our first date. I remember getting to know her, and some of the things we both liked. The topic of music came up, her favorite band was Breaking Benjamin, and I started sharing how LP was one of my all-time favorite bands, and that I was still pretty emotionally beat up from losing Chester (even though he wasn't actually apart of my life). This girl says "yeah, suicide is tough, and I can relate to what you're going through, because I just lost my fiancé last year to suicide. So I know what you're going through if you need to talk about it." She said it so genuinely though, and not in any sarcastic or spiteful way at all, I kid you not. I glared at her concerned yet comfort-ready eyes with silence for a solid minute until I heard crickets in the restaurant. I remember thinking to myself "well damn, here I am, just some fanboy of a band who's upset about their singer dying, and I'm complaining to a practical widow i'm on a first date with." I never talked about my feelings about Chester ever since. lol😬
I was at a dark place during LP’s first 2 albums. Instead of listening to cheery-happy music, I dived deep into Hybrid and Meteora. I felt solace and companionship as those albums became the soundtrack for that part of my life and all my memories of those times have a Linkin Park song time stamp….. This now brings all that back and the associated memories but it’s different now. It’s a reminder of the healing too. It’s a reminder of the accomplishments since. And now I see them as the torchbearers they’ve always been for others who have been through the same and the new souls in pain who need their own Linkin Park. They are in good hands.
You don't have to be sorry man it hits me deep too. After Chester's dead I couldn't listen to the music for years. I hit me so hard. The meaning of the song got so strong and a "new meaning" or I really listen to it and really understood the lyrics like I never had before. I was like loosing a brother.
Agreed and as a purist, for once, i would say LP would be best keep the old songs with Chester out at least for many more years. To no one's surprise she does great on the new songs and i actually enjoy them but hearing her on the old ones hurts more than anything somehow and i don't think anyone would fault her for it. Chester's shoes are big enough to fit in as it is without having to actually sing his lyrics. I really think both LP and the fans should just move on at this point and leave alone (but never forget) the Hybrid Theory era with Chester.
Regardless of all the keyboard warrior haters all over the place right now, the fact that almost every person posting a reaction ends up in tears, says it all. They did great. Emily rocks, and this song is really good.
I had many emotional tears when I first heard the song drop on Thursday. Linkin Park is a smart group. They thought about how fans would react, knew this was right for them, but it might not be for everyone. She earned their trust and respect organically, and doesn't disappoint. Linkin Park is a way of making music and has had band member changes before this.
I am 65 years old. Never been a LP fan. But that is absolutely mind-blowing. And the live/stream introduction has got to be one of the bravest and courageous moves by almost any band in rock history.
@@darkskingaming07 I know, right? It's like "holy shit, LP is back and _they are coming out swinging."_ I know a lot of people are legitimately upset that LP picked anyone to "replace" Chester. Nobody is replacing Chester. That isn't even a thing. Emily is helping kickstart the next phase, and yes, this is still LP.
This is their first song without Chester, when she started singing the Chorus something in me died. That part was supposed be sung by my brother Chester. Something will never feel right. I cried in the Chorus.
I feel so validated seeing you cry to the chorus. I sobbed when she sang the chorus. I never thought I would hear linkin park again, but the magic is still there for me
@@jacobgivens2274 Linkin park was always so much more than one person, and hearing that chorus made me feel like Chester was, in a sense, singing this. Emily is unique, and not trying to sound like Chester, or trying to replace him, but be an authentic addition to such a great band. I'm looking forward to this next era!
Emily is a powerhouse, I’ve watched every one of the live shows with her and that woman can SANG. She’s the absolutely brilliant perfect choice to pick up Chester’s banner and carry it for all of us.
Thank you, I grew up with these guys, and they were my go-to music when my life was at a low. So much came back to me when I heard that chorus. I remember missing Chester, and thinking he would have loved this song, while also hearing a little bit of him singing this all at the same time. It hit hard;
No apologies needed brother - I’m 50 and I had the same reaction when I heard this the first time. Her voice - like Chester but in her own way - reaches in and forces you to look at the pain inside we all share and walk through it. She has that gift.
She’s exactly what they needed to start this part of the Linkin park journey. This is an incredible ode to the past and an exciting opening to the next stage of their music. I’m so happy for them.
@@eduardoborges506I can accept her and her voice. But her singing Chester’s songs is a big no no. This song I like though I’ve got use to it. I love female rock singers. So we can accept female singers. Just don’t ruin Chester’s legacy
@@WilkosGaMes You cant expect them to NOT sing 99% of the linkin park songs + some of the classics. People will pay to see them live expecting those songs. They will obviously play them in their own way. Just because chester died he didnt take his music with him. Thats not what he would have wanted. Its like you want chesters life work to die in sanctuary of pointless protection.
4:50 duuude I feel you. I have the same reaction, I always miss Chester and nothing and no one can replace him. But I hear something of him on her voice. I´m completely moved 😭😭😭😭❣
4:59 no need to apologize for the effect this song has on you. I’ve watched countless reactions to this song and listened to it even more on my own and it still hits me in the feels.
I f'ing cried like a little girl when I first heard the song. Have listened to it a few hundred times now and I still have to fight my emotions every single time. If this is the effect that LP with Emily has on people how could Chester not be ok with this? Heck, I am sure he loves it and smiles upon all of it.
When I first heard Emily sing her chorus, I felt a rush of emotions and you hit it right in the bullseye “she has so much of Chester in her”. I think this is why we all got so emotional. When she yells her chorus I can see Chester yelling it too! 🤘🏽
@@chrismcallister3495 Hey, it's okay to be bummed out about everything. But Emily is objectively a talented singer and musician, like it or not. And erasing Chesters legacy is _literally impossible_ . And in my opinion this is how we keep him alive. By letting LP rise up from the ashes to create more music. I bet you Chester would never want LP to stop making music.
@andreedwardsson objectively she sucks. Her voice cracks every time she sings these songs live. She forces every vocal, strains to hit anything, screams harmonies because she lacks the vocal range to effectively sing the harmonies. Live she is a dumpster fire for these songs. She just can't cut it, she lacks the talent to sing crawling, numb, and many other songs. Her vocals sound ok in record with 30 layers of autotune. Her own band she doesn't sound great live but it's better live than her trying to sing like Chester, and she is failing. Objectively. Amy Lee would have been a FAR better choice. And I've quoted Chester's son, so his feelings on the matter are far superior than anything. Emily also said in an interview she doesn't care if old fans of the band dont like her being the addition.... she lacks talent, personality and respect. Horrible choice OBJECTIVELY.
@andreedwardsson I've replied to you 4x, it keeps getting deleted. No profanity or vulgar tos speech. I hate YT. Objectively she is bad for these songs. She literally struggles to hit the harmonies, cuts off her vocals and screams everything. She lacks the talent for the lyrics written for Chester. Amy Lee would be far better choice. She is not good live, even in her own band. OK on record with mountains of autotune. Terrible choice objectively
@@chrismcallister3495 Amy Lee? For real? Don't make me laugh. the only thing that made her great was her single, "Bring me back to life" and it was Paul McCoy from 12 Stones (who make way better music than Amy Lee) that gave her song the energy it needed to be a hit. No Paul, no hit, that simple. She has NO POWER. Emily doesn't struggle, that's a joke. Go listen to Dead Sara, she is more versatile than Amy could ever dream of being. I'm pretty sure you have zero Music qualifications and are nothing more than a Chester fan, not that there is anything wrong with that, until of couse you start knocking others.
Bullshit, you know nothing...take a look who Is Singer, her attitude to life..She doesnt have emotions ...for Chester Is slap to his face, destroying his emotions
Don't apologise for crying mate, I cried too hearing this, I miss chester so much, emily sounds different but so good! I've listened to this song over and over again and I love it, so glad my favourite band is back
4:29 When I watched the live performance and she screamed this chorus I stared crying my eyes out and was like that for the rest of the livestream, it was the moment when I realised my favourite band is back
It was an overwhelming feeling for me as well in this video. My heart was missing Chester, while hearing a little bit of his style in Emily & seeing authenticity. I though "He would be proud of them for this".😢
I was moved so much as well. Take a look again at the live performance. Just before her first scream Mike was pointing at her as if "look, this is what you have been waiting for"
She's has terrible range. This isn't about replacing Chester. This is about they could have got a much better vocalist. She can scream but everything else is beyond mediocre. She absolutely cannot sing Numb well at all. Wouldn't surprise me if she is on a relationship with one of them or a DEI hire. Should have formed a new band.
@@glenmcl As harsh as your statement is, i have to admit i kind of agree. They picked her not for her vocalist skills but simply for creative reasons. Quite literally what Mike said. Hearing her on the Hybrid Theory/Meteora songs hurt more than anything else to be honest. Not because she botched it but actually because she just couldn't do it (unsurprisingly). She did her best but she was never going to be able to sing Chester's lyrics on those songs.
Dude, I had the same reaction when I heard her voice really kick in. You stated it so well. She sounds like Linkin Park, and is an awesome choice for a lead singer. No one could replace Chester, but she certainly does carry some of his style in her own unique way. I am absolutely in love with this song and Linkin Park again.
Many of us can relate to this experience when using social media. The constant connectivity, the algorithm, and the pursuit of validation may often leave us feeling empty. This feeling can also be present in toxic relationships or unfulfilling careers, depending on one's perspective on disillusionment.. i guess?
The world just needs to realize, and accept this is linkin park now. They are still good and going to give us magic. WELCOME BACK LINKIN PARK AND THE NEW ERA!!!!!
Holy crap. With life, family and kids keeping me busy every day I am now at an age where I miss these sort of things ... I heard about the new song and the new singer on the radio in the background while trying to separate the kids yelling at each other for no reason. Thank you so much for letting me relive how I should've been introduced to that song! I wanna buy you a beer!
Thank you for the super gift ❤. It is awesome to see these guys back, and I've been through a rollercoaster of emotions with them. I would totally drink a beer with you if I still drank. *Cheers with hot apple cider ❤
I felt like her brutally hitting that chorus got her a stamp of approval from many fans! Liked that Mike started, then her, then Chester’s vocals! Hope they do well🔥🙂
Yeah the truth is, when watching the live concert, you can feel Chester standing right by her and loving every moment. It's too bad we'll never get the chance to see them work together, because they would be amazing.
When I've first listened to this song, I cried. So emotional. Linkin Park is back. Mike is back. Great job, great producer. And this Linkin Park Sound. I can feel Chester all the time. Emily is so so good. I love her voice. Anyway enough said. Brilliant comment. I enyoed it.
Maybe the emptiness machine is.. grief? Grief create that hollow feeling, wiping everything else. I'm not a believer BUT everytime I went trough hardships LP were there. My mom died two weeks ago and I felt lonely partly because LP weren't there for the first time. And they dropped this? Sometimes timing is bizarre. I'm loving the song, Emily sounds amazing, she pours her heart singing like Chester did, and.. that's LP.
I'm so sorry to hear about your mother!! My prayers are with you and your healing process, and I'm glad you have some new LP to keep your mind and heart distracted. Although no words, or music will replace someone so close to us like that, it does help soothe the pain... And I agree with you 100% on Emily, she sounds amazing. Her energy matches what Chester had, and to me, that's what's really important. Linkin Park is so much more than one person, and if i'm being honest, this band didn't change as much as I was expecting it would. Thank you for the comment, and again, I'm sorry to hear of your loss!
I'm so very sorry for your loss. Timing can be strange, I agree. My mom died in autumn in the year of 2000, right about when Linkin park debuted their first single. They were a major part of my teen years and beyond. Saw them live here in Finland 2009, so glad I actually did. My heart skipped a beat when I saw that countdown that was set for September 5th. That was my mothers birthday. 🥺
it's about narcists in relationships. "i watch you cut me open, just to watch me bleed, gave up who i am for what you wanted me to be" it's about how narcissist manipulate people into being codependent of them by cutting at their self Estime and then pulling them up, making it seem like they are the positive in your life by camouflaging that they are the reason your feeling horrible in the first place. "i don't know why i hope for what i won't receive" pertains to the hope the victim has about receiving proper love and affection, which is teased at by the narcissist enough to make you think things will change and stay in that situation, even though you know deep down it won't change.
The Emptiness Machine is the music/entertainment industry and by extension social media. Mike’s first verse explains how he already knows people are waiting to criticize LP’s return from a distance without any knowledge of what they’re talking about. Unfortunately, he knows he won’t be able to resist the temptation to hear what they are saying and has even let it affect him. So much so that it is painful and makes him feel as if he has to put on an act rather than be himself. All of this in the name of entertainment which can be a soul-less vacuum for artists. Sometimes people forget that songs don’t represent a collection of studio sessions. They represent the artists’ years of honing their craft, the evolution of their tastes/styles, the evolution of their band’s relationship, and their life experiences. We know when we do a good job on something because we can see it in front of us. An artist does not have that luxury. They have to wait for the world to judge the creations they are emotionally attached to and hope for approval.
7:45 For me, The Emptiness Machine is the feeling of being hollow trying to be someone you're not to either fit in to be a part of something or to go along the lines of someone else's rules to get by in your day to day life or to survive, hence the reason why they show the monotonous/mundane lifestyle of each band member in the video. This song hits for me as someone that had struggled with depression and not even knowing due to an overbearing family member that kinda controlled my life and my emotions. I love that Linkin Park is back. Now that I've been going through my process of healing, their songs are hitting me on levels I never thought of before.
She’s amazing, she’s not Chester, but she definitely has Chester energy and that’s all I ever wanted. In my opinion the song is literally about your phone.
I think that’s why it was the best move not to get a guy in Chester’s role…. She fits well and who would know that better than the actual band itself! I stand by their decision and the performance online speaks volumes. Let’s goooo LP!
Shes def Linkin Park, no one will ever replace Chester, but Chester would be proud to see the future of LInkin Park. Also, love Mike Shinoda finally singing more, he has a wonderful voice.
Mann, your reaction is the best, the best in all video reaction i've watched so far, People who enjoy linkin park song will relate to your genuine emotion, Respect 👍🏻
Finally someone recognized Emily! As Mike said "in the keyboards I am, in vocals Emily and in the role of Chester, it's all of us" "we're not erasing the past, we're moving towards a new future!" And I couldn't be happier! I cried hard on the whole Livestream!
Thank you for joining me in the tear factory haha. I hope people accept the fact (7 years later) that Chester is gone, and he is not coming back, and maybe to give the new Linkin Park a chance. No one is claiming they are better now, we are just happy to see them back! Different sound in a sense, but same energy & emotional impact when listening to them.
This song is very much a direct rebuttal to what they are already expecting from the general media and keyboard warriors who are going to have a negative reaction to them continuing the band name and legacy with a new lead vocalist (and drummer) if you go back and listen as if he is speaking to YOU the song changes completely. He is a victim holding back on his art in order to appease the general masses and what they’ve already decided is “right” or “wrong” for Linkin Park. The Emptiness Machine is the music industry and the demand from the general audience to provide what THEY want and what they want only. “Let you cut me open just to watch me bleed” alluding to the audience who will continue to hate on the bands new direction, while simultaneously continuing to watch. “I just wanted to be part of something” could be somewhat from both Mike and Emily’s point of view. Originally Mike just wanted to be part of this band of brothers making the music they liked together. Emily just wants to make the music they feel is right to them currently with a band that already has an established name and devoted fan base. I’m excited for the direction and will continue to love the old stuff as well as the new! Great reaction! See ya around
Wow, I'm pretty sold on this theory you gave, and so detailed you took the time to write out. The music industry is a toxic industry, and when all eyes are on you, there's going to be trolls and haters that would rather see you fail than succeed. And from seeing the trolls on the internet today, it's pretty clear that so many "fans" aren't really fans, because they were hoping to see Chester replaced by a vocally identical clone. But the fact is, there is no more Chester Bennington, he is long gone, and won't ever be back. I believe true fans will be glad to see Mike Shinoda smile, and for the band to carry on!
Yeah, and considering One More Light’s critical reception and Chester’s reaction to it, there’d be some… animosity probably isn’t the right word but you know what I mean? The people claiming the band had sold out in One More Light had Chester saying he wanted to punch them in the face (and worse) so I wouldn’t blame Mike if he kinda has some opinions on critics and fair weather fans
@@Hudson316 Isn't it kinda ironic, that now so many people are doing exactly what made Chester so furious, hating on Emely and Mike, for bringing in someone that doesn't sound exactly like Chester, and pieces of her history, that are too shallow to form an actual opinion on. Anyone who thinks the rest of the band would bring in someone that Chester would fundamentally disagree with is delusional. And its incredibly disrespectful to everyone. Anyone that claims Chester would hate her, is doing exactly what Chester suffered a lot from. Putting presure on someone for doing something they love. So no, Chester wouldn't hate her, but he might actually dislike you for claiming that.
He actually wouldn’t be because he was friends with the husband of a victim of Danny’s. Chester’s son already spoke out he isn’t happy about her being chosen.
@@LuLuBelle28 his son also doesn't believe he killed himself and believes in a conspiracy that he was murdered. He is not mentally healthy right now, you can see it in his videos, he's rambling about a lot of nonsense
@@LuLuBelle28 he definitely would. His son is irrelevant. His wife, who knew him better than anybody, approved and said he would have approved. You and your ilk can stuff it.
I love the honesty / empathy in your analysis and reaction. We're all experiencing this in different ways! Many tears were shed with that first chorus.
The only fact that Emily is not trying to sing "like" Chester makes it GOLD! They are back and they're gonna be even greater! I cried too with goosebumps and everything.
And I think that's what some of the haters are hating on is because they didn't get a Chester clone it's a different sound a different voice but the same energy they got to understand that it's not going to be the same it's a new era of Linkin Park Chester had auditioned for Linkin Park Linkin Park was already made before Chester was even introduced to the band granted he brought them a lot of Fame but I don't think the band wanted another Chester clone they were looking to go in a different direction and start a new era instead of trying to be stuck in the old era and trying to find someone to replace him like some bands would do what do so I think they made a good choice
min 7:41 = I think the interpretation of "emptiness machine" is that this song views humans as a physically sophisticated mechanism but when he is programmed with a certain doctrine, he will be more like a robot that has no feelings, aka an emptiness machine
As most "true" fans have already said, Linkin Park is back, and so are we. I loved Emily on this track. I am glad Linkin Park is back because that means more remembrance of Chester's legacy.
First of all, my comment was meant to express general excitement about the band's return. Every band has good and bad songs. I am simply glad that they chose not to call it quits after Chester's passing. If you did not enjoy this particular song, there is a chance you may enjoy something from them in the future. I personally loved Emily on this track. 🤷♂️
True fans don’t just support anyone taking Chester’s place, let alone someone involved in a cult that supports a rapist. I can accept she “didn’t know the truth about him”, but anyone in Scientology is off their rocker and so far removed from Chester and who he actually was.
So I'm 48 years old, and LINKIN PARK was never much on my radar except for the very beginning, with songs like ONE STEP CLOSER and IN THE END. That said, even I recognize what this is: it's redemption. An opportunity for LP to continue forward, sharing their art with the world because boy, oh boy, we need it. It reminds me of Metallica right after Cliff Burton died; their return was triumphant. And this one is too. Gonna be an awesome year for music, y'all. Enjoy it.
Replacing a bassist is relatively easy. In the end, it's the bass that makes the sound, not the player. When a singer changes, the instrument is replaced because every singer is unique. This is more radical and the change from male to female reinforces the difference. This is a new start, not a continuation. It also requires a new start in the minds of the fans. Not everyone will go along with that.
I'm also 48 and while it took me a minute for LP to grow on me back in 2000-1, they're one of my favorite bands that I never did get to see live (along with Soundgarden). So after Chris Cornell and Chester both took their own lives it is pretty amazing that LP found the courage to coninue on with a new singer. I really love LP and will definitely not miss their tour next year.
The great thing about the choice is that she fills the same energy and dynamics, so it really feels Linkin Park, but she's not trying to be Chester - because no one can. It sounds authentic, while it also sounds like this would fit in Minutes to Midnight and no one would bat an eye. Also, as you mentioned, she's from Dead Sara, and in that band she uses a whole lot of different vocal styles. She has an enormous range. And she also plays guitar. It will be interesting to see how much she brings into the band.
When I heard this song, I also started crying. Not only it's in their old style, but her voice fits brilliantly. It's strong and expressive. And I feel the lyrics of the song as a deeper meaning and a suggestion to those who keep saying that Linkin Park died with Chester and shouldn't come back because it won't be the same. Gave up who I am for who you wanted me to be... It hits me too hard. I'm so happy they're back...
I love the song and the vocals of Emily makes me emotional .I think that the emptiness machine refers to the system, the things we gave up just to blend.
What I love which I think not enough people are paying attention too is the album is called From Zero and Xero was also an original band name before Linkin Park
My guy, I'm also cutting onions every time I hear this track. I'm 41, and rocked to Linkin Park starting in my teen years. The one that introduced me to LP sadly went like Chester. It hurts. It's hard. But sometimes you need to feel some of that pain again to center yourself.
I'm not cryin'...you're cryin' .... I'm a 57yr old man...drive dirt race cars..."man stuff"...EVERY time I hear this song it's accompanied by a few years... One of the best reaction videos I've seen with this song. Thank you sir...
It’s kind of comforting so see so many people of our generation having the same feelings over this band and this return. Even if the band took a creative direction other than my personal one, the deep connection of their earlier work and Chester’s voice will remain forever.🥲
This hit me in the heart too bro. Unexpectedly emotional. 22 years of my life impacted by Chester and his music. The sound of my youth. Hearing Emily smash into his chords so organically and powerfully hit me in the feels. I am just so, so, so glad that the healing had happened, and that his legacy lives on. And I'm super pumped for her. Welcome to the family Emily. Let's. Freaking. Go!
All those assholes who be hating and saying "This isn't linkin park" are the exact same punks who hated ln the song with kiara saying it wasn't heavy and blah blah blah. I'm proud of Mike and the band and I welcome the new members.
I wouldn't call them linkin park. Before you go all Karen let me explain. If you think queen do you go oh that adam lambert stuff was amazing no. You clearly go to the Freddie stuff Thus is how I feel about the new lknkin park. It's not really ljnkin park. With the difference Chester could sing. Emily can't. Now let me tell you the difference. Chester made you feel the music. It came with emotion. The soul and heart was clearly in it. Emily is just singing like you would doing karaoke. Good karaoke, but in the en's you forget about it.
@@jasonjordan8149 Would you say that Dio was the lesser in Black Sabbath? While I love the original, Dio is 100% the better singer and the LP "Heaven and Hell" was their best songwriting ever. I go to both but def. Dio more often. This is contra to your Queen theory. That said, saying Emily can't sing is laughable at best. She has a similar range (3 Octaves) to Chester, just a little higher which is typical for females. They do have different styles, though. Emily comes from Alternative and Indie which involves more variety and postive vibes. Chester is more of the deep felt sadness. A more negative music. The Emotions come over differently. From Chester it's a deep felt sadness often based on negative experiences. Emily reflects a more aggressive positive energy. It's just as deep but toughes different nerves. Kind of like Grass... Emily is a Sativa and Chester an Indica. Personally I never imagined her seeing her have a Tegan and Sara type vibe on "Anybody" yet going really towards NuRock on "Weatherman". She has more versatility than Chester ever had but she probably with never have the deep felt grief like Chester. Those are usually not interchangeable because of the personality of the person. You do you though, and the Charting worldwide is proving you wrong. She's an amazing misrange vocalist, just like Chester only different.
I watched their Livestream and I had tears watching them perform again. Emily was the perfect choice. Her voice was amazing and I'm excited for the era of LP and hearing more in the future. It's also sad that Rob didn't return but their new drummer I hear is very good. I know Chester is smiling down on them. I've been a fan since 2000 and this is still my #1 favorite band. Long live Linkin Park!
Well, this is one of the best and most genuine reactions on TH-cam ever. Cheers mate!

So I know what you're going through if you need to talk about it."
She said it so genuinely though, and not in any sarcastic or spiteful way at all, I kid you not. I glared at her concerned yet comfort-ready eyes with silence for a solid minute until I heard crickets in the restaurant. I remember thinking to myself "well damn, here I am, just some fanboy of a band who's upset about their singer dying, and I'm complaining to a practical widow i'm on a first date with." I never talked about my feelings about Chester ever since. lol😬
I can admit it publicly that linkin park songs basically stopped myself from taking my life.they saved me and I'm grateful for life.
I balled like a baby when hearing this.
Just because Chester died doesn't mean Linkin Park needs to die with him. She's phenomenal.
Exactly. One man's decision shouldn't be the death of the band. It's a new era for them!
She's Not Chester, no one can replace Chester, don't compare her to chester! Never! Period!
@@remurrr No one compared bruh. Saying she's phenomenal doesn't mean "she's as good as Chester was for Linkin Park". Stop with this nonsense.

Chester's spirit is right in the center of this band. Emily gave me chills and it really feels like a new chapter and not a rehash.
💯 agree with that take! It really is just a new chapter of LP, and not a reinvention of the wheel
@@Tonylytics A new beautiful voice lifting us out of the misery of Chesters terrible ending. I think they did everything right.
Shes the perfect fit for this new era of LP
@@pentenai6196 agreed 💯
Welcome to Linkin Park's new era...
She sounds amazing! She reminds me of a Harley Quinn mixed with Kurt Cobain and of course Chester
Emily sings with more fury and less sadness compared to Chester. And I really like it.
Regardless of all the keyboard warrior haters all over the place right now, the fact that almost every person posting a reaction ends up in tears, says it all. They did great. Emily rocks, and this song is really good.
Glad I wasn't the only one stricken to tear shed. They did great, and I'm glad to see Emily carrying the torch!
@@TonylyticsGets me too - every time I hear this. I wish her the best.
I was driving while the livestream was going and I shredded my voice singing along. It scratched an itch I’ve had since the Chester Memorial concert
All of those so called 'warriors" are off on a Bandwagon together feeling special having ZERO thought of their own because they are cowards.
I am 65 years old. Never been a LP fan. But that is absolutely mind-blowing. And the live/stream introduction has got to be one of the bravest and courageous moves by almost any band in rock history.
True LP fans tear up when she hits the chorus and we all know why. It's the same exact reason why the band chose her. Nothing else needs to be said.
Was skeptical at first but when the chorus hit, I dropped everything even though I was working 😅
@@darkskingaming07 I know, right? It's like "holy shit, LP is back and _they are coming out swinging."_

This is their first song without Chester, when she started singing the Chorus something in me died. That part was supposed be sung by my brother Chester. Something will never feel right. I cried in the Chorus.

People will pay to see them live expecting those songs. bs. she sucks. i agree with chesters son, they are quietly erasing chesters legacy.
I think it’s about social media.
I cried too. Do not apologize. There were so many elements hit hard in that song.
You don't need to apologize about the song, dude. I'm so emotional too when I hear this song.
i keep coming back to watch someone genuinely as happy and emotioned as me
I appreciate the shared emotions 😊
7:45 For me, The Emptiness Machine is the feeling of being hollow trying to be someone you're not to either fit in to be a part of something or to go along the lines of someone else's rules to get by in your day to day life or to survive, hence the reason why they show the monotonous/mundane lifestyle of each band member in the video. This song hits for me as someone that had struggled with depression and not even knowing due to an overbearing family member that kinda controlled my life and my emotions. I love that Linkin Park is back. Now that I've been going through my process of healing, their songs are hitting me on levels I never thought of before.
It might be about Emily's past with Scientology. At least thats how it reads to me. So pretty much the things you said, yeah.

No they don't
I cried too dude, it hits hard, especially that first time you hear it.
You nailed it

Yes , exactly... She is a phenomenon.
Chester sang with pain, she sing with fury and it sounds so good
i dont feel it.
@@jayc1983 listen to heavy is the crown and feel it
This is such a great and lovely reaction !!! thank you for this mate
min 7:41 = I think the interpretation of "emptiness machine" is that this song views humans as a physically sophisticated mechanism but when he is programmed with a certain doctrine, he will be more like a robot that has no feelings, aka an emptiness machine
Maaaan, i felt SO MUCH the same as you when hearing it. This is a TOTAL BLAST ! 🔥❤🔥
Thank you for sharing your truth :)
Awesome. The hype is real. I cried when she hit the chorus.
Man, i started crying the second she screamed. You arent the only one. The stars have aligned to keep LP alive. I love her
Same, stay strong
😂😂😂😂
Same
@5:16 that is exactly how I felt. Very much Linkin Park sounding song.
I have listen to this sound over a hundred times and it still gets to me. So good
As most "true" fans have already said, Linkin Park is back, and so are we. I loved Emily on this track.
I am glad Linkin Park is back because that means more remembrance of Chester's legacy.
Oh my God, so if a person dislikes this song they're not a true fan?
That's preposterous
Plenty of people are true fans and don't like her voice. I personally can't stand it.
@GhostNet0997 yes exactly.
I' with you, I never thought I would feel this way again, so happy
Thank you! This was so overwhelming, and it made me so happy! During the chorus, I thought to myself "Man, Chester would be proud of them for this"
I’m not easily brought to tears, but I had the same reaction, she is f’ing amazing and Chester would be proud
This comment deserves an award
What do you think of Linkin Park's new singer? Was it a good move? And why?
Great move.
Chester is always going to be the goat, but Emily is going to take this band into a new era. my reaction was the same as yours.
Listen to the livestream concert. It's great. She's her own voice, but it's so Linkin Park you swear you'll still hear Chester in the harmony.
@@davistryan I disagree but she's still doing fine. I'm excited to hear more songs written specifically for her and Mike.
Never apologize for emotions brother...They sound really cool !
Best reaction I've seen I relate so much brother.
Thank you brother! This one hit me hard in the soft area❤
I love the song and the vocals of Emily makes me emotional .I think that the emptiness machine refers to the system, the things we gave up just to blend.
What I love which I think not enough people are paying attention too is the album is called From Zero and Xero was also an original band name before Linkin Park
Damn man, so many easter eggs! Thank you for this, I wasn't even thinking about the album name! 😱
My guy, I'm also cutting onions every time I hear this track. I'm 41, and rocked to Linkin Park starting in my teen years. The one that introduced me to LP sadly went like Chester. It hurts. It's hard. But sometimes you need to feel some of that pain again to center yourself.
41 also and yes I'm with you also.
They're back
37 year old. Same story bro. Im happy for them. Miss Chester. She is great!
Sorry to hear about your friend. In a way this comeback feels like another step in processing that Chester’s gone.
for me the day before i listend to Emily, i was like "they dont make musi like this anymore" and here they are
I'm not cryin'...you're cryin' ....
The part where you got teared-up . . . me too, brother.
Let's. Freaking. Go!
She's got it. She is perfect for LP. Wow
I know why did u cried. U just feel that I felt. We have Linkin Park again :)
This is it. Resurrection and growth in pure music form right there.
I cried too it was intense. Got chills all over my body.
All those assholes who be hating and saying "This isn't linkin park" are the exact same punks who hated ln the song with kiara saying it wasn't heavy and blah blah blah. I'm proud of Mike and the band and I welcome the new members.
Exactly. One of d reasons why I love LP is for their variety and uniqueness in every album.
I wouldn't call them linkin park. Before you go all Karen let me explain.
If you think queen do you go oh that adam lambert stuff was amazing no. You clearly go to the Freddie stuff
Thus is how I feel about the new lknkin park.
Crazy moment for her as she probably grew up listening to linkin Park. Great tune!
From what I read, she badly wanted to sing One Step Closer...
...and she nailed it in the livestream show!
mostly grunge same as linkin park
Glad I wasn’t the only one who was emotional when I first heard this. Took me back to when I heard LP for the first time as a junior higher.
