After posting my last video, how to install VGA on HP Mediasmart Server.

This is the easiest way to install i found, there is other ways by network, i have not tried.
You will need a second PC, USB thumb drive, Monitor, HP Mediasmart PC, Software

Steps to install:
1. Download software, Yumi, ISO Windows File
2. Create USB ISO bootable Drive with Yumi
3. Remove Hard Drive from HP Mediasmart PC
4. Using second PC Install windows to Hard Drive for HP Mediasmart PC
5. After Install Create Administrative Password, Write down
6. After install Password Create, Remove Hard Drive
7. Install Hard Drive in HP Mediasmart PC
8. Sign In to Administrator From record on HP Mediasmart PC

Install HP Mediasmart updated Drivers

For curiosity sake, how much did you pay for the server? Also, how many gigs of ram is in your MediaSmart? Edit: Towards the end of the video, I see that you have 2GB of RAM.

Hello, You can find the servers low cost on ebay, the RAM was another $22. 2GB Kit (2x1GB) Memory RAM Upgrade for Compaq HP MediaSmart EX475 Desktops. The VGA cable was another $30 if you watch my other video, the link to buy one if you want.

@mr.vetteenlightens3381 Thanks. I have 3 of these, a 485, 490, and 495. I just recently bought the cable, but I hadn't seen any teardown videos until I saw yours. Prefect timing. If you format your thumb drive using easy2boot, you can do the install directly on the server. No need for another pc provided you have the breakout video cable. I subbed as soon as I saw this video. I'm currently testing Antix because my 3 only have 2GB of RAM. I was previously running x penology, but I wanted to experiment now that I have the cable. I'm gonna test Open Media Vault on the 485. Ultimately, I want to run Channels Whole Home DVR on a lightweight Linux distribution that gives me some sort of data redundancy.
