The lodge is somewhere that all the boys go to to elude wives. Boys' club. It is hilarious. The man prayer is: "I'm a man, but I can change, if I have to...I guess". lolol I saw this show taped live in Hamilton, Ontario. It was side splitting. There was actually an American couple there and they were on their honeymoon. Americans are in the loop and they love the show. Look for an episode with actor Graham Green. He's a native actor that was in Dances with Wolves. He is actually very funny.

You're right that this would be too much if it was one after another but it's just a minute in a 22 minute episode so it's always fresh. There's tons of other sketches they do. Check out sketches with ranger gord. He's far and away my favorite character. He's basically a Canadian forest ranger who's gone a little crazy from spending too much time in the woods by himself.

There was always a main storyline in each episode, interspersed with little segments like the word game, Red's poetry, ones where Red makes interesting creations in an attempt to do things easier, plus all the characters (like Red's nephew Harold, Ranger Gord, etc.) also had segments of their own (with Red or with each other). This show really evolved from 1991 to 2005. The first episodes had less characters and less variety, but it was all great. Personally, I like the first episodes the best because it was the original idea. Simplistic but original.

Red Green began as a segment on a TV sketch show called Smith & Smith. Steve Smith and his wife Morag played lots of different characters. One of Steve’s recurring characters was Red Green.

The fellow who plays Mike Hammer, his name is Wayne Robson. Unfortunately he passed away a number of years ago but the voices he does may be recognizable. If you ever saw Disney's "The Rescuers Down Under" he was the voice of Frank the frilled lizard. There were a number of prominent Canadian actors on The Red Green Show including but not limited to Graham Greene, the late great Gordon Pinsent, the aforementioned Wayne Robson, American-Canadian George Buza (who played Dwight) as well as Patrick McKenna. The Red Green Show was also one of the few Canadian sitcoms/sketch comedies that was very popular in the States.

Red Green was Morag Smith's Uncle Red on another show earlier made called Smith & Smith. Starred Steve (Red) and his wife. This was a spin off of that recurring sketch.
Possum Lodge is the center of a small town on a lake. What he have is our cast of locals plus Red and his nephew Harold.
It is and never was deep or serious just clean fun.
And Mike is playing for a pedicure and free meal. Epicurist is one who enjoys new food. Pedicurist treats your feet.
The joke is that its unhygienic and disgusting to eat in a place where people have their bare feet out. or prepare food.
Its a silly concept on how the words are very similiar.

In most of the later seasons, the Word Game happened in every episode. The adventure segments are other great skits worth checking out.
Other great characters in the show include Winston Rothschild, owner of his own septic sucking services. In addition to being a regular cast member, he also had a number of quick ads for his business. "Discounts for vegetarians". Edgar Montrose works in demolition, and he's mostly deaf and doesn't seem to think enough about safety. Hap Shaughnessy is a guy who seems to be incapable of telling the truth and comes up with all sorts of wild stories. Harold Green, Red Green's nephew, was a series regular for almost every season.
As for the word game, look up "The Top 50 Quips and Clips from the Red Green Possum Lodge Word Game" compilation on TH-cam.

The Red Green Show is a multi-segment show with multiple reoccurring characters, muktiple segments revolving around a core weekly story about the Possum Lodge, and has 300 total episodes & a movie over its 15 year run.
What you saw in your prior videos was one of the segments, Handyman Corner, which is exclusively involving Red and his ability to make weird stuff, usually out of cars.
The Possum Lodge word game is another, and usually has 3 people, one of which is Red. The host is usually Mike Hammer, but is sometimes Dalton (the weird hair guy) or someone else even. And yes, the running gag is they usually say the word on accident.

The Red Green show started on a variety show called Smith & Smith.

And he played the truck driver who drops Rogue off at the bar where she meets Logan in the first X-Men film.
You can always tell when a late 90s show or movie was filmed in the Toronto area, because all the same actors pop up. I binge-watched "Due South" recently and basically every actor with a minor speaking role in that movie and every actor from the Red Green show appeared in it at some point.
