Buying the 14.3 TKO-C is like buying a sports car with a 4 cylinder engine. If you want explosive power, great top spin and higher twist weight, get the TKO-CX 12.7mm. Took me over a week to dial it in, stuck with it, and now loving this paddle.
@@motoredline2910 honestly probably down to your swing more than it is related to the paddle your using. I would say reduce your swing and tuck your elbows. It will help with accuracy and u will still have just as much power if u learn to use your body weight.
In my humble opinion. If you want the 14.3 mm bantam tko-c, just get the tempest tko-c. It’s the same thickness, shape and rcf face but a bit cheaper and it looks much cooler in my eyes. It’s just a bit softer than the bantam tko-c.
Hi Daniel, I play 4-6 times/week and I've been using the Ruby for about 3 months now and feel like it might be starting to decline in performance. I've really enjoyed the paddle but am wondering if there's anything better on the market to purchase next with a little more power while still maintaining control and being an all court type of paddle. Do you feel like the 14.3mm TKO-C would be a good option? If not, I'd be curious to hear what you use as your main paddle now after using the Ruby. Thanks for the video!
Hey @nikowav! I was in a similar boat. I started off really liking the Ruby and then it wasn't cutting it for me as much anymore so I started moving onto other paddles. I think it really just depends on what you're personally looking for. For me I was looking for something with a bit more pop and power to it but also something that felt somewhat soft. Because of that I'm currently usng the ALW-C 14.3.mm. I havent done a review on it yet but soon. The TKO-C is fairly similar besides the shape but has a bit more power and pop, but isn't quite as soft feeling. If you're looking for something more control oriented and more of an all court similar to the Ruby, I'd defintely look into the fatboy which Im doing a review on soon (but there are plenty of other reviews out there aready). The fatboy by bread and butter is a really solid, maybe a bit poppier version of the ruby, but all around just has a good feel too it. Feel free to reach out if you have any other questions, you can hit me up on my email too if you want danielpickleballtv@gmail.com
I used it this week at my pickleball club. I'm not crazy about it. I don't like it at the kitchen. I love the power in serving or drives. I loved my Joola Gen 3. I was so sad that they were deemed illegal. I'm going to check out the Hurache X and the Honolulu J2K.
Such a small sweet spot though…..great in every other category. Thinking Koops paddle will be the answer, long handle ALW with a real handle! Made in the USA by USA employees! 12.7 is far superior!

I got tennis elbow in 1 week. How is your arm handling it?
@@motoredline2910 Oh no! I thought these paddles would be better on the elbows. What aspects of them hurt your elbow do you think?
Yeh , I got the tennis elbow after a month.
Do you put lead tape and where did you put it?

What paddle do you use as your main?

Great review! 🙌
Do you have weighted tape on it ?
I don't personally but I know some people who have added it to the throat and liked it

what did you end up replacing your Gen 3 with?
What is your main paddle?
Currently the ruby 6.0 but might change it up soon

Do you know when they'll release this? I wanted to try the alw-c 12.7 but don't want that small of a handle
@@GaryAu_PB I emailed Paddletek yet to hear back, heard Chris Olsen got one from Koop.
Lost me at the last sentence. The 12.7 is the way to go.
i agree i used both the 14.3 was not for me coming from the gen 3 it seemed harder to control and sweetspot feels smaller compared to the 12.7
Fair, was just an assumption but sounds like that's not the case. I am very curious to try the 12.7 now. Thanks for the input
