This story is being reported FUNDAMENTALLY INCORRECTLY. These are not Nevada police. These are Pyramid Lake American Indian Reservation Rangers (police). The laws on their land are exceptionally different. Significantly more so than how US States differ. It is genuinely closer to having another country within the United States.

I live in Las Vegas, NV, but not entirely sure if this happened yesterday or the day before, however, both days had temperatures over 100F. Given that fact, my guess is every single one of the massive line of cars was using air conditioning, which really helps a car burn through gas. Instead on helping the issue they are protesting, the protesters literally made it worse.

@@tritontransportWhile I agree mostly on your points, sometimes doing things the legal way isn't enough. America was founded on criminals doing illegal things to protest British rule. A revolution isn't legal, but it is sometimes moral and necessary. A protest that doesn't break any laws is ineffectual and cowardly. Frankly, I find the cause of stopping big oil more important than a bunch of burners who need to get high. As a burner myself I can tell you, I can get high and listen to music in my car just as easily. I agree that the trooper was very much right to destroy the blockade like they did, but I also think that breaking the stranglehold oil companies have on our government is more important than people going to the desert to take psychedelics and burn a giant effigy.
Just some food for thought. What is more important to humanity? Making sure we don't make the world uninhabitable to humans, or making sure some hippies can get incredibly high?

They illegally blockaded a roadway. The same woman heard shrieking in the video obnoxiously was also caught in other videos being rude and condescending to motorists who politely asked her and the others to move before the tribal police showed up. In Nevada temperatures can reach well over 110 degrees Fahrenheit or more in the summer. So not only were they forming an illegal blockade which they have no right to do, but also were putting all the people, children and pets in their cars at risk for health emergencies in that heat. They were also trespassing on Native American land. So glad I live in America where we don’t tolerate this like they do in Europe where they do nothing about it. I can’t imagine how frustrating. You could have added how hot it was outside, many of those people in line had no water, many cars cannot run their AC in idle, if so the gas would have only lasted so long so that would have been no AC, no food if they were going to eat at the festival, no bathrooms if no RV, and severe heart problem potential in the heat! And who knows how many young children we're in those vehicles! Those idiots on the road didn't give a darn about any of those people! Typical! Praise God for the Rangers!

I have driven through more of "rural Nevada" with a friend in the winter and one thing people don't realize is this is not like a major city where you could jump surface streets, or hop another freeway. That is the ONLY road for miles so if anything happens, intentional or accidental, it is going to have a huge impact for hours. Not to mention cars can overheat running the AC in high temps, especially just sitting there as there is less airflow over the radiator.
Were the cops forceful, yes. Do I blame them for doing what they did, no. I have seen the raw footage and they gave them the chance to clear out, they made ZERO effort at all, so the cops showed they were not messing around. We all have the right to protest, it is one thing to stand there with a sign on the side of the road. It is another to INTENTIONALLY block traffic and not clear out when the cops ask you to do so. And then act all surprised when you get cuffed up on the scorching hot asphalt.

Then when nothing changes because the laws were passed and no one wants to pass other laws, they move. @@t.j.mccowan6584 Try better spelling and grammar, this was painful to read. Also, the cop did EVERYTHING right here. When he drove over the trailer... that was the best part! 😂 I don't think you understand that was TRIBAL LAND, they follow their own laws. You don't have the 1st Amendment on tribal land, and you certainly can't block a state highway. Don't break the law on tribal land, it won't end well for you.

Believe me, if the Rangers hadn’t taken care of this. There would have been violence against these Climate jerks for blocking the road. The Temperatures was probably approaching 100 degrees F. High Temperature and Blocking the Roads tend to lead to short fuses.
