I remember Tommy riding this spot back in the '80s. First wave I saw was a 3ft. barrel that just kept going and going. I thought it was riderless until the end when Tommy pops out and stands up. Had to be 7 sec.

heard of the sandspit way back in the 70s these are first pics / videos , have seen , that is one hot Ca,. wave , easy tube ride , Santa Barbara area has more surf spots than anywhere in Ca. When they break , I can see crowds are alive and well , back in the day had to get friends to surf with you at unknown or uncrowded spots..

Joe says he was never as competitive as Tom, and it shows. Joe's surfing is pretty average and his brother still has world-class ability even at his age. Don't use competitive spirit as a crutch. Either you have it ; or, you don't. Joe just never had it. So, why is he in a surf film is the next question....
