So lugi ang bago kasi di mo pa nasusubukan? Sure namang masusubukan din sa tibay ang Zenix na mas bago kapag tumagal din, pero di-hamak namang mas kumportable at mas malinis at mas maganda ang bago kaysa sa luma.
Di naman tatawaging "new generation" yung hybrid kung hindi iyan mas maganda kaysa sa lumang modelong papalitan niya.
We needed a family MPV and purchased the Innova V in pearl white over the Zenix Hybrid. Truck based, RWD and turbo diesel are all pros. The Innova has a very comfortable ride too. Why not the Zenix Hybrid? FWD isn't great for MPV, SUV and van. It's terrible when accelerating and front wheel grip struggles because of rear weight transfer. I also already have a Prius and don't want to deal with a hybrid system again. It's more of a expensive parts cost dealing with 2 power sources. It's more complex. Hybrid battery life can degrade when the battery is heavily taxed depleting and recharging cycle. Hybrid engines have head gasket failures especially when majority of driving is city traffic, when the hot engine shuts down until the Hybrid battery is depleted requiring the engine to restart and charge the Hybrid battery. For those who keep their vehicles short term will take a hit in resale value when selling a hybrid. Buying a hybrid 2nd hand means you could be buying a vehicle needing battery replacement or near head gasket failure.
Toyota continued to sell their diesel Innova in the Philippines
Better comparison would be the G diesel A/T since price is closer. I would still go for the new one though. Diesel might be the choice of many, but the new model is just a better car overall.

Pros of the innova, may manual at automatic 6 speed gearbox compared to zenix cvt lang, diesel, rwd, more budget friendly.
Cons, old design, side folding 3rd row seats, no leather seat options, recent price increase, lacks features.
Overall id be happy with any, tho ill buy the manual innova and upgrade it from there.

Mas malakas sa akyatan ang inov e kaysa zenix kasi rear drive kasi Lalo na full load kapag zenix ang full load sa akyatan mahihirapan siya or els gamitin mo power mode niya. Lalo na pag modulas ang Daan mahihirapan domaan yan sa Dalton pass.viscaya hehe .pag city ok yan wag Lang sa uphill at province.
Paano mo nasabing mas malakas, nagamit mo na pareho? RWD nga si diesel pero mas malakas ang hatak ng Zenix kapag pinagsama mo ang pwersa ng gas engine at electric motors niyan, kahit pa FWD 'yan.
Masyado mo naman kasing minamaliit mga gas engines, eh kahit 1.5L gas engines ng mga Xpander eh kayang-kaya umakyat nang punuan.
Mas tahimik pa ang takbo ng Zenix, at sureball na mas tipid pa sa diesel, lalo na kapag sinabak sa traffic sa EDSA.
May dahilan kaya tinawag ni Toyota mismo si Zenix na "successor" ng current Innova.
Theres just something about diesels and rwd, rwd having better grip and the diesel having more pulling power torque, while the zenix hybrid is also good, it just cant beat the feeling of a diesel rwd especially in floody hilly places, also the hybrid zenix is priced nearly 2 mil, and another thing hybrid batteries are heavy pair that with a fwd with a big body it will struggle in some places. Either way both are good, Zenix has more features and more updated but sacfrices diesel and rwd, and Innova sacrifes features for rwd and diesel. As comparison these 2 are polar opposites so its kinda unfair to compare them really, theyre for different buyers.

Yun lang din talaga, dapat mag release sila ng variant/s with bench seats para mas maximized ang cargo space at seating capacity.
For me, dun pa rin ako sa tried and tested na 2.8 diesel at rear-driven setup,
Iba parin ang mas rugged,

macho ngang tignan ang zenix pero bakla naman pagdating sa hatakan at akyatan so wala ring kwenta at dagdag lang sa maintainance nya ang motor at baterya dahil hybrid..sa diesel variant pas rin ako dahil mahaba ang buhay ng diesel engine kesa sa gasoline engine.
Pareho mahaba buhay ng Petrol at Diesel Engine. Tignan mo ung 2TR-FE na gamit sa Toyota Hilux sa UAE at gamit sa Toyota Tacoma pick-up sa USA. Dami nagsabi na reliable ang makina na 2TR-FE. At bakit meron ding Vios na naka 400,000km to 500,000km na ginamit pangGrab or taxi?
Bat mo naman gagamiting pang hatakan yung zenix? Kaya nga niretain ang diesel variants. Obviously hindi ikaw ang target market ng zenix

Mas maganda pa nga mas maraming sakay pagdating sa paahon para mas makapit ang gulong sa kalsada. At mas naniniwala naman ako sa sinasabi ni Toyota na sila mismong gumawa ng sasakyan na mas malakas ang Zenix hybrid kaysa sa diesel Innova.

Pagkabukas pa lang ng likod, kitang kita mo na na mas malaki ang space sa loob ng Zenix. Super comfortable sa loob lalo na at unibody. Zenix is the better car for people hauling.

@@randysanchez8188 - also, I was mainly talking about the comfort and space being much better for passengers and the driver as well (hindi gaanong mabigat ang manibela nyan dahil electric power steering comoared sa 2nd gen na hydraulic). Unibody ang Zenix kaya mas stable ‘yan dapat at lesser body roll compared sa 2nd generation Innova na body on frame ang chassis.
I will agree outdated na yung Innova pero i will still choose the diesel because of the power alone since i live in floody hilly city. Tho the feautures of the zenix are nice i still need the rwd. The one thing that gets on my nerves tho are the 3rd row seats folding to the side, other than that stil fine. If i lived somewhere like manila id get the zenix
I prefer diesel....zenix is nice looking too but pitty out is not diesel ..
Why is not being a diesel a negative when the hybrid electric motors + gas engine provides more power than a lone diesel engine, and less noisy and less harmful emissions too?
And being a hybrid means the vehicle can run entirely on electric motors alone, which is significantly more fuel efficient than running a combustion engine at all times.
Reliability and lifespan, especially for the batteries and maintenance cost and cost of the car itself

Thing you missed is the car body weight of Zenix is light by 170kg compared to Gen2 Innova na heavy thats why the torque is more need in Gen 2 than this new one. Toyota engineers ofcourse WILL NOT sacrifice their reputation for a worst new model or gen. Zenix is Gen5 by the way way ahead of the Gen 2. Also gas engine bec in 2030 the diesel will be stopped as its more polluting than euro 4 gas which has less emission and finally more fuel efficient ang new gas engine.

@randysanchez8188 wala na tayo magagawa jan, kahit anong sasabihin nyo reliable at tipid ang diesel, maphasephaseout parin yan by 2030 due to bad emission ng diesel fuel. Then susunod ang petrol engine maphaseout. Alam naman ng Toyota at iba pang car brand ang pros ng diesel engine. Sumunod din sila sa EU regulations at unti unting iadopt ng Singapore at iba pang bansa ang regulations na yan.

Matipid po yun zenix kasi nga hybrid may battery na ginagamit kung dto sa australia kadalasan sa mga hybrid 5 litre per 100 kilometres kumpara sa hindi hybrid mg 8 or 9 litres per 100 kilometer yun lng hybrid normally 10 years lng yung battery
