So I grew up in Miami trolling for mani with my dad. I now live in Northeast Ks also and I am getting into trolling for wipers with my kids and this helped me tremendously. Thank you!
Enjoy your videos, have you tried flutter spoons in summer to early fall, it’s my favorite way to catch striper here in SC. Not positive, but it should work there as well. Keep those good shows coming. 👍
I prefer a 7'-7'3" medium strength with moderate action. The moderate action really allows you the rod to bend and absorb the shakes, like a medium light strength rod would, but gives a bit more strength to reel in Biggins. Now I do have a medium light with a fast action that, while it is so light that with any Force the entire rod will bend, it really only wants to bend on that tip.
Im going to refer back to this video when Spring Whitebass fishing hits here in Southern, Missouri! I think it will be interesting to get away from the same ole bucktail jigs, sliders, and swimming minnows and learn some different techniques like you showed! Also if I was off work Saturday the 18th I would be heading to KC to shake your hand!
Thanks for the tips for Wiper. Pretty cool you have mostly custom color baits for walleye. I have a lot of the stock colors but I airbrush some of my own as well! Cool channel! I have a similar style for mine, doing mostly Colorado Fishing. Subbed!
Hi , I just started fishing for wipers. I live in Utah. We have mountain type reserviors deep clear.. We have no shad just a lot of crayfish and mountain suckers and clubs for forag and also crappies. . Me and my brother have been fishing in area just above the were the inlet comes into reservior it's about 10 to 19 feet deep. The nights get very cold and days warm up. In early morning we catch most of our fish. We use gulp minnows and top water. They don't seem to hit any of big baits expect for the zara spook in the morning. Any advice plus the day fishing is almost nonexistent. We see them on depth finde but no action. We have not fished them any other season yet.
braid has been around even before mono , antique reels made in the 30s always had braid in them .old timers would take the braking gears out of their reels and could cast across the lake
Also we have not been using th heavy gear you talk about on your show. We seem to have luck with 2 to 3 in gulp minnows and big zara spooks. It's like they prefer downsize lures. Any advice on gear and a good reaction type bait for this situation.
Kansas Angling Experience awesome, just had to ask so I could stop wondering!!! Keep up the great content!! I just got a boat last year so trying to use some of your videos to apply to my local lakes. I am totally going to book a trip with you sometime it looks like a blast
@@KansasAnglingExperience Thank you! What colors do you like best for our Kansas Lakes? I assume 3.5" is the best if I wanted to also use the Squadron heads,
@@KansasAnglingExperience ya I’m out here in Texas and during spawn they tear the flats up and a lot of them love there throughout the year too so that’s my go to. During summer I jig the humps with swim baits and they hammer them as well. Gonna have to try that rapala!
Great video. Idk what the Brewers and KC flag bullshit is about, but good solid fishing tips. I would recommend a Cubs flag. Much better decor. Juuuuust saying. Subscribed.

Thank you for making this video. It helps a lot for people that aren't as familiar with fishing for wipers. Great content
Love the Packers and Brewers flags in the garage!!... and the Royals..
Hell yea...Wisconsin represent. Go fuckin Pack!
Great Video! Lots of good tips and right to the point.
Your definitely good at explaining everything well!! As much as you may hate these vids in my opinion your do them well.
Very comprehensive information. I learned a lot.

Grest video. I would be interested in how you tie up your double crappie rigs and the baits you use.
Thanks! I like using bucktail jigs for striper. Assume the same thing would work for wiper. Definitely gonna take your advice and use some of these.
On the lake side of the dam on Pamona lake in Osage County is a steller place to land wipers from the shore during this time of year.

Do you have a video on how your fish a spoon for wipers?
I don't because I don't use them much.

Badass tips sir 👍
What is the cleaner on the shelf behind you or is that something for live well?? Lol stupid question but catches my eye every time
A client gave a bunch to me a few years ago, company he works for. Boat cleaner

So when would be the best time to possibly come out to KS and have you guide some Stripers or Wipers?
March through November. Spring and fall they’re more fat
Could I use a ugly stik GX2 instead of the Fox river because the link and the website doesn’t work anymore
Yeah, unfortunately it won’t be active until the rods are in stock ready to ship, hopefully in the next 30-40 days from what I understand!
@@KansasAnglingExperience ok thanks you so much
Do the Squadron heads fit well into the 2.75"? I suppose the 6th Sense heads would be a little big for the the 2.75"
I’d use a jig head with a wire keeper rather than a lead collar. VMC mooneye jigs work great too.
Do you ever hit cheney reservoir?
I don’t
Great video
What kind of hook was it for the swim bait? I couldn't quite tell what you said in the video.
Strike King Squadron
Great video! Where do you get your swim baits poured? Anywhere locally that we can support?
Swingeminbaitco.com. Use code KAE10 for 10% off! Locally made too

@@randyrogers2916 I use the 2.75” Hammer tails probably more than the 3.5. Just get both. Purple/chart and white and white/purple
Thanks. Do the Squadron heads fit well into the 2.75"? I suppose the 6th Sense heads would be a little big for the the 2.75"
Has anyone tried using a kastmaster for wiper? I am new to fishing so idk much.
I have. Works great.
I like using a fluke and lipless
Way Crooked Entertainment I do too, but in way shallower water. Majority of the time on my home lake these fish are 15-30-40 feet deep
Love ur channel but hate ur team ! 😅😅😅😅😅 SKOL !!!! 💪🏽💪🏽💖💖
You'll finally have your chance to beat us this year!
@@KansasAnglingExperience 😅😅😅😅
The fox river website don’t work for me
White chatter bait #1 then white 1.5 kd crank
I fish Wipers in depths of 20-30’ sometimes. Tough to get at them there with those baits. I like a lot heavier stuff!

It’s real fun, especially with Livescope! Those suckers are wild

I’m from Milwaukee, I’d rather use anything Chicago related as toilet paper. 😬
