What a surprise. I love LightHouses very much.We have many, along our coast and some are very beautiful.One of these is on the "Cabo da Roca" the "Western Point of Europe" . The sky, the waves ,the LightHouse are relly beautiful. Thank you Maria for sharing yr work with us.

Hi🤗Thank you!!! and your welcome☺️! Glad you like this one...I think the best way to paint waves is on a bigger paper also so you can plan each wave.. I feel like when I don't visualize them first then it becomes too messy 😋Just a little tip 🙃
looks so complicated esp the waves with color and movement and the image also looks dynamic and lively which is not something you see in painting every day kudos!

Hi Angela, thank you so much 🌹☺️🌸Back then I used different references for the lighthouse, did most of the water and sky with birds from my imagination. So technically this place doesn't exist 😉

Hiii 🤗Thank you!!! Really glad to hear you enjoyed this one! I haven't tried using acrylic paint instead of white Gouache so I don't really know.. Designers Gouache is an opaque watercolor, it can get very milky if you add water or it becomes more transparent if you add even more water. Thank you for your comment! You may want to experiment and let me know how did it go ? 😋

I don't have all the color I need. I don't have Indigo or Turquoise. Can I substitute Ultramarine for Indigo? I also have Cobalt Blue and several colors in my watercolor pan. Any suggestions?
Hi Judy, yes you can substitute for whichever colors you have in your palette, when painting water you can use your cobalt blue and I'd suggest one more blue, maybe phthalo blue? and for the darker shades ultramarine is fine, just more concentrated so its dark enough :)
