Dude I learned more from your video than I have others! You keep it simple and to the point while everyone else starts cramming theory, writing and history into their videos. I am a visual learner and this is by far the best best beginner video I have watched! Kudos to you brother!
I came here, out of curiosity what the dude with the best Warhammer Total War vids looks like. And it really warms my black Druchii heart that he is a metal head. 🤘
Learnt so much from this one video....u lay it down straight....no frills....am 49 years...aspiring bassist amongst other things n I think metal n djent were just meant to be....thank u once again for this....lot of clarity, straight up
I'm trying to figure out what that note is in most deathcore bands that sounds like a powerful echoed "distorted thunder-ish" sound. Don't know music terminology, and when I look them up, it's more confusing.
idk the actual term but try playing this put your index on the 6th fret of your b string and and your pink on the 9th fret of the g string and that should i believe be the "distorted thunder-ish" chord your looking for. also try alternate picking with it sometimes as well.
A little suggestion try doing the workouts on this video but tune your guitar down to drop B it will give you a true djent tone or even on a 7 string tuned in drop A or drop G
I’ve not seen one “djent” tutorial where somebody doesn’t comment that it’s not djent. So what’s a good djent tutorial? it seems if it’s not Meshuggah or periphery it’s not proper Djent, I’ve been digging Vitalism lately but people say that’s not djent either, so what the fuck is? And where can I find a decent tutorial?
@@furryz666 well meshuggah are the ones who invented or at least brought djent to masses and coined the word djent. Periphery is highly influenced by them. So yea that's what djent is. I've been watching a few tutorials from Olly from monuments, Mark and misha from periphery, to name a few. Try them. This tutorial is more like a how to write metalcore breakdown kinda stuff
Non of this is specifically djent stuff. Yes this is important if you want to write metal in general, but this technique doesn't really make djent, djent. To be honest this is more of a tutorial on 2009 metalcore
With this guy still was active. His videos really inspired me to play guitar

Tune your guitar to c-g-c-f-a-d and all chords are thunder-ish

IT LOOKS LIKE HE S IN DROP D DE TUNE YOUR TOP STRING DOWN A WHOLE STEP FROM E TO D
A little suggestion try doing the workouts on this video but tune your guitar down to drop B it will give you a true djent tone or even on a 7 string tuned in drop A or drop G

So where is the djent part?
