The quality of your video is very good however I agree the logo spoils the image, what is very interesting though being a shorter boat you can see far more from the stern, I am looking forward to the tour and your first trip that was a long hard haul.
Did a similar length trip last year moving the daughter's new boat to it's mooring. 5 days of cruising, working 60 odd locks with the other daughter, eating and sleeping. Finished Boxing day. Best time I've had in 70 yrs.
I bought my boat from Lymm and sailed it back to Stoke. I quite liked the Bridgewater canal and even explored the runcorn branch as I thought may not be up there again
Don't worry about bumping into things when your learning your way on the canals - just remember its a contact sport and no one keeps score! Suggest if your planing on keeping your boat for some time consider a pram hood for the back deck It will keep you dry when it hoying it down and give extra room for drying washing etc.
@@thenarrowboatvlog8653 Though it was a bit strange that a narrowboat as small as yours was not fitted with a hood to maximise space, I'd also see if you can get transparent panels let into your cratch cover, it will let more light in to your saloon.
Just found out about narrow boats about three months ago been addicted to them ever since. The channels I watch all have the bigger boats can’t wait to see what it’s like on a tiny narrow boat. So happy you’re just starting and I don’t have to go back and catch up. Can’t wait for the adventures to come. Congrats on your boat good luck and thank you
Your narrowboat is as cute as a bug ! Very pretty she is and I certainly like the little ones a lot. I hope things are working well for you and you are happy. You probably know, but always be careful in the locks. Enjoy your adventures! I have subscribed and will follow you in your travels in the canals. Kenny Oregon, USA
Greetings from the USA. Excited to see your Narrowboat Life. Wonderful little vlog. Love the look of your boat. Going to watch Ep. 2 for the tour next.
Great! I have been wondering how life would be on one of the smaller boats, rather than the 50+ foot ones. There's something definitely appealing about living small. Looking forward to seeing more!
Amazing trip. Well done. My top tip which has probably been said below is take the windlass of the paddle once the paddle is raised. If the ratchet fails and the windlass is on it will fly off a long way....possible injures.........I look forward to your next trip, that one was pretty impressive.
The great thing about a tiny boat is that you can spin them around on any canal or river whilst their big brothers have to find winding holes, a pram cover is also a good idea, keep you dry when its pouring and acts as an extra room too, a couple of solar panels to keep your batteries healthy and Bobs your uncle !
I grew up near the flight so have done this on my bike many times and yes it’s definitely easier that doing those locks 😜 Thanks for subscribing enjoy catching up to present day :)
Just discovered you on TH-cam....What are your names? I didn't catch your names. Enjoyed your first two vlogs. Keep on Keeping. Watching from Texas in USA.
Excellent first vlog, far better than my first one was! Looks like you mastered the system, locks, tunnels and lift bridges. Fingers crossed for better weather on your next trip. We have subscribed and look forward to following The Tiny Narrowboat...
You looked like 'Bernie the Bolt' in that tunnel. Left a bit, right a bit... Ever thought of stabiliser wheels? PMSL, Hope your future journeys are good, It can be daunting when you start out.
@@thenarrowboatvlog8653 Some of the most important skills are rope work, being able to moor up safely and obviously making sure daily checks are done and not skipped, too many times people just expect to start up that old BMC 1500 lump and off they go but neglect making sure it's safe to do so, get yourself into the habit of doing checks on every day that you intend to travel and you'll save yourself a ton of trouble down the line. Bon Voyage!
Thank you, we do religiously do our daily checks, she’s had a new engine and so has only done 300 hours now so we are definitely invested in making sure she stays in tip top condition
Ah I saw this little boat on Apollo and loved it. Good luck with her😊 I'm looking for a 25/30 ft one for me to live on. Not sure if I'm going to dig deep in my pockets abd have Aintree boats make one or find a used one! Either way, if I can live in a van, this size will be pure luxary ha ha😊 Cheers!

Hope to see you out on the cut, when we're allowed and to play. Have subscribe looking forward to the next one. Louise
Hi, just watch your videos and guess what? I watched them the wrong way round! But at this stage it's forgivable. There’s lots of hire boat/canal holidays that you can do to come give narrowboating a try, many different sized boats and lots of layouts to choose from if you ever decide to visit the uk! It’s a fabulous relaxing holiday in the early summer months when it’s not too busy :)
@@thenarrowboatvlog8653 We dream of it on a daily basis! We watch narrowboat channels every morning before work. It's definitely something we want to do. If my wife had her way, we would sell it all and move onto a narrowboat and live happily ever after. Thanks for the tip about the summer months! Do you recommend we take a course when we get there? We've watched lots of locks but when you're in person, I imagine it's intimidating.
We had never done a lock when we bought ours :) they need to be respected but it’s not difficult (it’s physical though!) a good boat yard will give you a decent amount of tuition to help you on your way safely and the canals are friendly places to be where most experienced boaters will offer guidance and a helping hand if you get stuck!
Wow.. very nice. love your Tiny Narrowboat. so cute. but a tip from an old tuber... Yes turning the small ones is very easy and a definite benefit over the bigger ones - we met up with another boater who had a 60footer and he said he had to travel a couple of hours and do two locks to turn around - nightmare!
We went through a long one on the Llangollen, no signals, no lights nothing it was just toot the horn before going in and then pray nothing was coming the other way, who was going to back up.
