South of 191, there is still digging going on. I am unsure what is being removed, as the old roadway isn't coming up, but there is a lot of dirt getting moved.
I saw something on the end of the bridge that confused me a bit. They seem to be putting together a light duty bridge. What this is for will be interesting to find out about.
The decorative wall at the French Broad is moving along very quickly. The southern one will be done soon, and the northern one, closer to the bridge, will be started soon.
At the new exit, there is more digging and moving of materials happening, but I didn't see anyone doing anything I could guess at, so I can only say the are working.
At the Parkway, and down the hill, the shoulders are getting put together. Also, a sign post was being put up. There will be a new sign there soon. They are also finishing replacing some sections that were not up to spec. That should should be done soon, and I image that the lane shift will be done at least in March. Then the old bridge will get taken down.
South from Long Shoals, there is a digital sign going up just north of the airport, and some other signs are getting prepped for placement. I saw only one more rebar castle at the weigh station, so all of the big signs should be finished very soon!
There is work at Fletcher to finish the centerline shoulders, then the centerline will get poured. At Naples Road and Clear Creek road, the bridge guards are getting closer to completion.
All of this is an amazing amount of moving forward. I hope that the work at Fletcher is completed before April. It seems possible.
