In my school (sooo long ago...so long!) I found out the hard way that I wasn’t supposed to scare the wrestling team by outperforming them on the machine where you lie back and lift with your legs. Apparently, they had been messing around and had about 500 lbs on it and they were egging each other on to lift it a few times. I asked if I could try, keep in mind I was 5’4” and weighed 110 if I was soaking wet, and they were snickering and said sure. I completed my sixth leg press while keeping the weights just above the rest on the return when the teacher (who was also the wrestling coach) saw me. He literally yelled across the room for me to, “Get off that machine, you’re scaring the boys!” I just shrugged lowered the weights and calmly went back to stretching.
