I had the same experience. I had my twin boys at 35 weeks. I was diagnosed with pre-eclampsia during my 35 week appointment and I sent to the hospital to deliver my boys. I had a great pregnancy, except my feet were swollen most of my pregnancy. They delivered the babies via C-section. After the took the last baby out, everything went down south....FAST! My liver enzymes went crazy. My urine looked like tea in the catheter. Something were going on with my heart. I was in the ICU for 4 days and in the regular room for 2. I also started hemorrhaging and almost needed a hysterectomy. I was a blood transfusion. Thank God and I am here and Thank God you are here.
Thank God for seeing you through all of this and for the birth of your babies. I had almost the exact same thing happen to me. The only thing different was I was only carrying one baby. I had blood transfusions twice in two days.
Whew we. Go Kim obviously the babies are gorgeous like their mama Congratulations to you and your boo on bringing these 2 new beautiful lives to the world. God bless you both . God was with you too the entire process. I have prayed for twins and have thought about every single possible way to deliver my future children if you are having multiples . I definitely say csection. Every woman should consider and imagine that plan even before she gets to the operating room. Especially women of color. Consider all angles, a doula, midwife, and if you know medical professionals personally call them up for second opinions. Lol

I’m a nurse but not a L&D nurse. Your physician did the right thing as severe preeclampsia is extremely dangerous. Praise Yah everything went well. The babies are beautiful

Thanks for sharing, my only concern is doctors not informing pregnant mom about pre eclaapsia until it happens. I experienced the same scenario. Only difference is when everyone step out the room to prepare for a c-section my baby decide to make an entrance into the world without medical intervention. So I was left confused, having vaginal birth was to dangerous and I need to do c-section now. Only for the baby to come vaginally
@@lashurediscussion4970 agreed especially with preeclampsia being more common with multiples. It’s so dangerous for the babies. I’m sure you were absolutely terrified. I’m glad everything turned out well for you.
@@lashurediscussion4970Oh wow! Your baby had other plans. 😂 I was surprised her doctor didn’t speak about protein in her urine sample because that’s usually a sign of preeclampsia and one of the reasons they take urine samples at each appointment.

Congratulations, Kim! Girllllll, i just had a c-section on 12/29/23, and the way you described that spinal tap was exactly how I experienced it. I had a full-blown PANIC attack. I felt like I couldn't breathe, like I was going to die. They were very reassuring, and once my girl's daddy got in the room, I unexpectedly calmed down. But it was nothing like getting the epidural with our first daughter, and nothing like the emergency c-section that I ended up having with her.
Also, this time, it took so long for them to close me back up because of the amount of scar tissue I had inside, so after my baby was delivered, I was still on the table for over a hour!!! I had to have medication re-administered 3 times because the spinal started wearing off, and I began to feel bits of the closing! 😮 Kim, God bless you and all the other women who have experienced childbirth. We are incredible for getting thru it all.
Wow your story sounds so similar to my 2nd c section, with the scar tissue and starting to feel them closing, my God. I don't understand how ppl could say a c-section is the easy way out. It is not!
Hi Kim! I am a twin Mom myself (to a beautiful girl and boy) and had the EXACT same experience as you, but at 34 weeks. I had pre eclampsia, found by a regular doctor’s appointment where my blood pressure was very high. They took my babies out that day and I’m happy to say that they were perfectly healthy, thank goodness. They spent a few weeks in the NICU to get a bit bigger but were otherwise good. They are now 4 years old. Congratulations to you and your family! Sooo happy for you 🙏🏾❤️
This is my story exactly. Twins taken at 34 weeks 1 day because of pre-eclampsia. Found out I had pre-eclampsia at routine appointment and had to stay a week in the hospital until I made it to 34 weeks. One baby spent 3 days in nicu, other baby spent 12 days. The one who spent 12 days in nicu just came home yesterday. I’m so happy to have them both home!
Oh my goodness! I am so happy to hear your babies both made it home safely. One of the hardest things to do is to leave one baby at the hospital while taking the other one home. Glad that they are both reunited and wishing you and your family all the best 🙏🏾❤️

Did you take baby aspirin during you pregnancy ? It highly reduces chances of pre eclampsia. They usually recommend it.
Can we just take the time to admire how beautiful Kim looks? Goodness. You don't even look like you had babies. I'm not gonna lie. I cried when the nurse brought the babies over for you to see them. I have one child and I had a c-section. I couldn't dilate for nothing in the world. I was knocked out but I do remember hearing him cry. I was in recovery for two days because my blood pressure high skyrocketed.
Congratulations Hon!! They are beautiful! And you are GLOWING! I’m a NICU nurse, so about 80% of our babies are admitted early due to pre-eclampsia! It’s nothing to play with. I caution a lot of moms to get a handle on your BP, etc before pregnancy because it’s only going to enhance once pregnant. Very happy your OB caught it early enough and Listened! I’m So glad you are recovering well and healthy! And most importantly the boys didn’t have to come too early. I’ve had 3 c-sections and I’m here to tell you the 1st one is the Absolute worst!! Rest when they rest and take it one day at a time! Blessings on yall🖤🖤🖤

Isn't it ironic that we as mothers forget all the bad things we go through to bring forth life. I have had 7 kids and I always forgot about the last birth. My 1st was my only C-section. U are absolutely stunning after 2 weeks. CONGRATULATIONS Kim🎊🎉🥳💙💙💙!!!

Wow this has me in tears. I had my daughter when I was 23 weeks pregnant . When the doctors told me they had to deliver my baby, I just started crying. It was February 2022 and my due date wasn’t until June 2022. I had to deliver her via c-section, they took her straight to the NICU, and she spent 5 months in the NICU. 4 months early! It was a traumatic roller coaster. But she’s a warrior and healthy happy toddler now.

I am in tears, I had an emergency c section with my first that was very traumatic. And watching this took me back.4 years later I’m pregnant again and hoping this time is just smooth. Congratulations to you and your family.

Hats off to any woman carrying multiples! I’m 24 weeks but measuring at 25 weeks. Only 1 baby and I am feeling miserable. I feel heavy and full all the time! It’s hard to get comfortable at night. Cannot imaging my feelings with multiples!

Twin mom of 3 month old boy /girl twins. Had a home birth and so grateful my blood pressure stayed level and was able to have them at home at 38weeks
I understand why you were overwhelmed, trust me I had a emergency C-section with my now 13 year old son.
Having another scheduled C-section two months from now.
Things don’t always go how you planned.

I am just grateful you had such an amazing team of Dr’s from your OB to your delivery nurses. God bless them you made it out with both your babies ❤

Congratulations Kim! Please continue to check your blood pressure in the morning and before bed. Keep a blood pressure log (they have free printables online) at home just to make sure you don’t have any spikes. Postpartum preeclampsia is also a thing it’s rare but seems to be increasing among black mothers. Also keep documents of your labs/urine test.
Great advice. I'm 3 months postpartum. I also had severe pre-eclampsia at 35 weeks and had to do an emergency c -section. I'm still monitoring my blood pressure and have to report to my doctor every month end. 🇩🇲
So true. My Daughter in Law had postpartum preeclampsia !! Very rare. Both Mom & Baby Girl are well now.

Yes, please stay on top of that. I had post partum pre-eclampsia and was hospitalized for a week when my baby was one week. It was super scary but God!
Yes I develop post clampsia. It's real never had any issue all my pregancy. BP spiked after my c section after I got home.

What a birth story! I had sudden preeclampsia with my first and had to deliver emergency C-section at 33 weeks. It was so scary, especially as a first time mom! I have 5 kids now, and thank God, never got it again 🙏🏿! Your sons are gorgeous 😍! Pray you rest and recover well momma ❤! Thank you for sharing and congratulations to you and your family 🤗🎉🎊!

Fun fact, in my culture the twin that comes out second is said to be the older one because they make way for the younger one to come out first lol.

That condition, more common than we would like to know. Nearly lost my third grandchild and daughter in law because the nurse or her doctor wasn’t visual-ant enough to take charge and send her to take the baby. Congratulations to you and your twins. OMG Kim your story sounds so much like my story October 4, 2023! I was diagnosed with prenatal hypertension at 37 weeks pregnant. I went in for a routine checkup and was told to go to the hospital for labs because my blood pressure was so high by the next day, I had to have an expected C-section. Praying for a swift healing for you! So glad you are doing well you look great!
Congratulations! I’m a twin mom too and the shock never goes away. They just turned 1 and I’m still in awe that I made two babies at the same time lol. I have a similar birth story minus the preeclampsia, but I’m glad you and the babies are doing well now.

I’ve had two c-section and it can be overwhelming the whole process. Especially for the first time. Congratulations, they are beautiful. We give God all the glory you and the babies are safe and healthy. I’m actually surprised at your doctors initial concern of preeclampsia, then sending you for labs where you had to wait three days for results. Rather, then sending you to the hospital to get labs right away. God was in control. 🙏🏽💙

It's crazy cuz I had twins and had a c section and to me that was ok I felt some pain after but tolerable.now I had a vaginal birth 2 years ago with my son and to me that shit hit different and was more painful after then the c section I had had years previously.

I was shaking so back going into the operating room. Unfortunately, I still had post-preeclampsia and had to stay in the hospital for 4 days. Praise God for 2 healthy babies and a healthy mom!!!

I have 1 child, daughter in her 20's. I had no reason for watching your video. I had watched one hair video of yours before this and immediately subscribed to your channel. Went to see what else you had and landed on this video. I figured I'd watch a few minutes and move on, but you are so captivating and enthralling that I watched every second. You have a way of keeping interest in every word. I was emotionally with you and so happy for you. Plus I learned things i didn’t know. Beautiful video. You are a beautiful soul. I had my first baby last year and ended up with Preeclampsia suddenly when I hit my 3rd trimester too! My son stopped growing around 32-34 weeks and the hospital thought I was fine and baby was best left in than taken out. I went to my 38 week routine appointment where my BP was high and they found more protein in my urine and I was told i had to come back the next day to be induced! I know that feeling of shock and fear at the same time and realising your not ready and then packing the hospital bag in a rush hoping you got everything!
I also remember peeing so much directly after birth and just watching the weight (or swelling) melt away it was crazy! By the time I left hospital 2 days later all the swelling was gone! Didn't realise you pee it away before though!

CONGRATULATIONS 🎉 I'm 29, had a vaginal birth with my first son, and just delivered my baby girl by C-section. You described it perfectly! I can relate, after the first one i was up the next day, with the c-section it hurt to even laugh! The surgery itself is a stressful experience, i still have flashbacks. I was an older mom (40) when I conceived and my doctor was concerned from the beginning about possible complications due to my age and carrying multiples. Welp, non of those concerns came to be. I traveled for my job and I continued to do so until my doctor made me stop at 36 weeks. I was traveling to Japan, Monte Carlo, Monaco, Jamaica and many US states. Not one problem. I made it to every appointment and each time my doctor was astonished at my progress. She would say that I was doing better than her younger patients with 1 baby. She was concerned that I wasn’t gaining a lot of weight although the babies were. At 39 weeks I went in to be induced (didn’t work) and after almost 2 days only dilating 2cm I was given an epidural (never planned on one). Next morning babies weren’t trying to come and their heart rate was fluctuating so an emergency C-section. Both babies were head down but when baby A was delivered baby B flipped and swam back up into my chest. She was delivered breech and both babies were healthy and good weights, 5.8 & 5.14 respectively with both 19 inches. They mostly stayed with me in my room only going to the nursery if I needed to sleep. We all came home together! The most amazing experience of my life and I’m still in awe that I carried them and brought them into the world. They are 27 years old and 2 of the most amazing humans I have ever known. Congratulations 🎊. That baby cry. So Sweet. Became a Twin Mom at 32. FraternalTwins delivered safely at 37 week via C-SECTION., 1 of 3. Baby A was Breech. That medication and surgery is SOMETHING ELSE. I'm glad I was able to stay awake for all of them. I'm glad to hear all went well. Beautiful babies. You look amazing. WELCOME TWIN MOM❤

With all that going on and able to create a birth plan, print it and have it laminated all the same day you have to be at the hospital to deliver lol!… Hunny you are amazing! 😀

Congratulations!!! I’m a twin mom too. I was 37 weeks and like you said everything was fine but I went for a normal check up for my fraternal medicine appointment. Out of no where she like I think baby b heart beat is low so I had to have a c-section. I definitely feel you on the emotions . So happy for a healthy delivery for you !

Congratulations, they are adorable!!!! I had my oldest son vaginally and my faternal twins in an emergency C-section. Ironically, they were born on their brother's 1st birthday. I was in ICU for 3 days after they were born. The feeling of emptiness I felt after having them was overwhelming. My body didn't trigger the normal birthing hormones like my 1st pregnancy. The recovery was an uphill battle for me as well. I didn't get to see my twins or name them until 4 days after they were born. My twins will be 19 and my oldest 20 this year. 3 Leo's born on the same day, they are great young men, I am truly blessed. 🥰

Congratulations 🎊🍾 welcome to the twin mom club. I went to 40 weeks at the advice of my OB and had a c section. Baby A (girl) was head down but baby B (boy) was transverse. Neither of my babies were in the NICU. Please make sure to take time for yourself and accept help from your family. In the beginning I was overwhelmed and didn’t share that with my husband. I believe that GOD brought me through, I told myself that he wouldn’t give me more than I could bear and that I’m mom to these babies for a reason. Enjoy them, love on them and know that it’s work but it’s so worth it. Thank you for sharing with us and GOD Bless you and your beautiful sons ❤❤

I'm so late! I had no idea you were pregnant again, nonetheless with twins.They are too precious! CONGRATS!!!🎈🎉🎊 You're pre-e story is similar to my first delivery except I had a singleton birth and I did develop headaches and floaters. At my next checkup, they saw how swollen I was and noticed my blood pressure increasing over all my check ups. They told me to call the next time I got a headache or saw floaters. A few nights later, I had another headache and saw floaters again(I was making sure to stay well hydrated for months). I paged the doc as it was nighttime and she told me to check my blood pressure. My husband took to me to Walmart to get my blood pressure taken. I paged the doctor back with the reading, she told me to pack and head to the hospital because I won't be leaving before having a baby(I was only 36 weeks). I was freaking out trying to remember everything to bring with me. My husband was freaking out, too, damn near distraught because we were so unprepared thinking we had another couple of weeks or so. Since it was my first baby, they just induced me and were going to let me try to go through labor but the baby's heart rate kept dropping so they ordered an emergency c-section. But fast forward 11 years and we have a beautiful, strapping preteen boy(and added a little girl 5 years later). C-sections are scary but they are usually successful. ADVOCATE! ADVOCATE! ADVOCATE! Great job, mama!
