As always, great video. I've worked closely with Christian for more than 22 years, and I can say with confidence that these videos show what he's really like. His humor is obvious and nothing new, but what's most impressive (to me at least) is his humility. Intelligent people generally have too much pride. Look how Christian admitted that he was wrong about the clutch bearing release, and then furthermore added in his rant about it, just to prove to everyone how wrong he really was. This was subtle, but beautiful. That's how trust is built, with honesty and humily. Christian and I have had many arguments - yelling at each other and everything - especially when we were younger, but our commitment to honesty and humility is what matters most in building good friendships. Yes, Christian is really like this. I hope that the viewers can recognize this, and can follow his example. Good job Christian!
Thanks Rob. We land in Detroit on SEP 1 at 13:00h and our flight departs at 18:54h. So there would be time to go to Taco Bell if you feel like stopping by at the Airport. I hope my time off work will not be that stressfull for you. Christian
Ma
These two prove that comedy is alive and well in Germany, hilarious and informative.
I lie awake at night wondering what is going to fail on my 320,000 kilometre Range Rover after watching your amazing rebuild series. What a brilliant video - maybe I can film life with my car with 320,000 k after doing nothing (except a replacement suspension air compressor last year) to it. I forgot there is a slight rattle from under the driver's seat maybe I will find my sunglasses!
You did everything correctly if it got 320t k on it! Christian
Hello again Christian & Vera from Hampshire in the UK.
I love your videos on so many levels - your engineering skills to make the exact tool you need, your mechanical skills and patience, and of course your sense of humour and banter with each other. For someone who understands (a little) with limited mechanical skills, I am hooked every week. Thanks so much for sharing your rebuilds.
I’m now off to drive my relatively low mileage (2010 - 135000 miles) disco 3 and keep my fingers 🤞. 😂
Best wishes.
Very few middle-aged men watch Sarah-n-Tuned videos. Good that Christian is helping change that.
I could care less about Land Rover but Christian & Vera are always fun.
Perfect start to my Sunday , coffee and a rainy day in North Dakota!! So no working on the Bmw today.
You 2 are a fantastic team, love the banter and wit . Who needs a Jack when you have a Vera 👍😁
Christian’s rant about the clutch release bearing was brilliant. I was very surprised to hear his comment about German products not being very good, I think the rest of the world still holds German engineering in very high regard.
Christian & Vera, you know, you two have cracked the true secret of happiness, I love watching you two. Thank you for all of your video’s 😊
It wouldn’t be Sunday without Christian and Vera!
Thanks for the ongoing entertainment 😅
Amazing achievement, very well. Loved that you are so organised that you can lay your hands on obscure bearings and bits of tubing. I bet all your socks are in pairs in the sock drawer!
I got the worst organized sock drawer in Germany ! Christian
My faith in humanity is restored !@@Vera_and_Christian
I hope Land Rover are watching your videos 👍
sarah n tuned is the master of changing appearances of things...
Christian will be regaling generations for years to come with how he made the seal extractor tool.
Christian and Vera , I’m a discovery owner from the UK , as a fellow engineer I must say your videos and humour are are awesome , your attention to detail is second to none , having worked in Düsseldorf for some time I got to know the German sense of humour and I just love it , keep up the great content and maybe do a disco 1 or2 sometime in the future. Peter
ITS LR TIME😊😊😊 good morning all.what another fantastic episode.if a tool isnt available christian will make one.this is one of the best landrovers on the road.looking forward to the start up and first drive.till next week guys.greetings from ireland😊😊
This is gonna be the nicest LR3 on the planet
First time seeing this people, after two minutes I was like “this is a masterpiece”🎉
So sorry to hear Vera was so poorly in hospital but is now making a great recovery many thanks for your continued work
Exellent, Kristian, who knows nothing, can impress himself, that really impressive!!!!!!!!! I loved the rant about german engineers, sounded just like myself??? Thanks again, for the entertainment Kristian and Vera!
You’re just a very cool couple! Teamwork makes the dream work!
Another great day in San Diego With Vera & Christian providing entertainment all the way from Germany for free great coffee time . Happy Trails
Another great Sunday morning start!
I would even sit down and watch you two write out your weekly grocery shopping list. I'm sure you could manage to make even that basic task funny and entertaining!
Great video. Especially loved the verbal bearing bashing only to eat humble pie.
Great job as always C&V.
Vera had her Australian safety boots on
Lol. Christian
That was great work ,, its a gold star from me
I don’t own a Landrover but get a laugh out you both , and look forward to next week’s episode keep up the great work.
I love Christian taking the pieces out of the metal bin at work
👍 I say: people who care about their company check the metal bin! I can see there if we screwed up or not. Christian
I always look forward to a Sunday to watch the fabulous videos from Christian & Vera, they are so interesting to watch even if you don't own a Land Rover, the closest i've got to a Land Rover is living about 6 miles from the factory 🤣🤣
The way you make your own tools Christian amazing .You are a very clever German 😂😂
Great video and good to see a rebuild with so much meticulous care, not just thrown together. Always a pleasure to watch, thanks for posting.
Land rovers finest technicians Cristian and Vera if you own a land rover these guys are who you want next door
Every Sunday is a LR day come watch be entertained and learn from the masters 😎
Hey Christian, it's called "fret corrosion", the active oxidisation of two or more metal interfaces without lubrication under extreme pressure.
You're doing a great job of the Disco refurbish.
Looks like new, amazing job. Sorted for another 17 years!
I really enjoy the videos! You guys are really entertaining and I love the detailed information. Your tool making skills are next level!
Absolutely brilliant engineering/comedy duo. Thank you for these videos.
Nice to see Christian repping the Maine Winter Romp shirt! Another excellent video!
The usual brilliance
Whatever you are doing, I find curiously relaxing, so yes, I probably would watch Christian clean parts.🙂
Enjoyed your banter
Simply the best YT channel there is. Two very clever people who make my life better. Great job. Danke from the UK.
We all need a missus like Vera, sssh dont tell mine!
The Canning Stock Route Supplier for Toyota parts for special fasteners is 160mms of barb wire and a pair of pliers.Christian, you a lucky to have a very capable Shop Forewoman like Vera. Love the dry humor. A Toyota owner downunder.
Once again ... Sunday off to a quality start and just a sprinkling of OMGs 😁
Well i got to watch two videos in one go, not sure what happened last week. Great content again, the highlight of my weekend.
Guten Morgen Vera & Christian 😊 Nothing better that get my LR time notification on Sunday morning that the next episode is ready 👍🏻 As always full of fantastic German humour and information. That transmission assembly was definitely something different guys 👍🏻 Maybe when Christian has fixed up Vera’s LR you could buy a broken Toyota and do a fixing up comparison 🤔 That could be fun 🤣 Christians face when Vera was bare footed lol 😆 So until next week take care and as always a big kiss for Vera 😘 x
Brilliant video another step closer to finishing it. Have a great Sunday everybody
I wish I was your Best friend! Ha.
You are absolutely amazing Friend.
I love our LR3…but having electrical issues…. Battery drain….
Having control arm bushings installed…3rd alt and battery… etc….so much work expense and shops involved as I don’t have Your skills and talent.
Very excellent, liked the selector seal removal, little seals and be a sod to get out without damaging the housing but it’s always good to make a special tool. What a pity your company dose not allow you to skip dive as we say in the uk anymore, I’ve tonnes off useful stuff I have found this way
Yes, our new management sucks. Christian
@@Vera_and_Christian I hate stuff going in the bin when it’s useful, but that why our workshops are full of stuff lol
@@Vera_and_ChristianMy favourite recent quote, which I’ve already found occasion to repeat (with attribution) is:
“The difference between a collector and a hoarder is that a collector knows what he has”.
Christian, in that regard & in good humoured know-how, you remind me of my foster dad who, in the 1970s taught a morose teenager how to do all sorts of mechanical things. In those days, cars that ran well & safely were owned by people with money or those who knew how to maintain & repair them at home. We were the latter. If a job required a tool we didn’t have, it would be bought or made. The task was never “bodged”. I’m a hundred miles lower than your skill level, but I at least understand everything you describe. I know that the resourcefulness you both show is life-affirming. I regret that where we are (southern England) few people know how to do much for themselves. I think it’s a severely retrograde step that , commonly, neither the owner nor the dealer really understand the engineering in their vehicles. I greatly dislike the “fixing by replacing one component after another”. It’s all bean counting and little original thinking. Root cause analysis must succeed (eventually!) and it is very satisfying. Loved your honesty with the “trash bag” fault with “The Queen”. So entertaining and educative at the same time. Never change.
Great stuff as always. Thank you both.
Another splendid video
It’s looking great 👍
Love watching you two.
Great work and nice weather.
Excellent video, thank you.
This is coming along nicely. It will feel like a new vehicle after all this work.
Looks fantastic ❤️🇬🇧
Another fabulous episode guys 👍
Really nice work. Respect 👍
Always a pleasure to watch, keep it coming..
Making Great progress ............Looking Good !
Great work AND nice finish!
Christian and Vera great blog ❤🇬🇧👊
Another great video see you next Sunday 😮
You both are the best, this is so impressive, I can’t wait for the next episode. ❤
Here is an expression that’s Christian and Vera would not understand:
“If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!”
Wouldn’t our Sunday’s be so boring if they did?
No, that is not the problem, problem is they bought so many spare parts over the years, that they have to take the LR apart to get them used before they get to old, and then they can start all over in another 250TKM!!!!!!!!
Bonkers effort but great work. It's made me want to get a manual D3 again. Best car I ever owned.
Always interesting! Thanks. BR
Another great video
Top work👏
Always like to tool ideas you come up with. thanks guys, see you again next week 😊
Ich kann es kaum erwarten, ihn fahren zu sehen und zu hören. Dies ist mein erster Land Rover überhaupt/Umbau. F für dich... Muss man reich sein, um eines davon zu besitzen? Haha..
Nice job. Wishing Vera a good recovery !
Trust Vera is on the mend after that worrying time. Glad you still managed to get a video out to make my week. Used little Yellow screwdriver red also available ❤
Looking good! So nice to work on clean parts! Thanks for teaching me how to remove the seals!
Amazing video. Very informative. Love how you remove the seal.
Wow! Another excellent video from you both. See you next Sunday. Thanks.
Hope Vera is getting better after her encounter with that nasty virus ! Thanks for another great video :)
Christian you said "piece of cake " like you were in the RAF
Nice job! 👍
To be able to unbolt the body & work on the rolling chassis is incredible..
One LR3 engine overhaul coming right up!
Looking great
Cristian&Vera,Top Top Top!
But a Chinees propschaft?
I downt no!
Love the video’s
Hvl.
Great work as ever 👍 I finally got mine all back together and MOTd and she's back on the road. Just doing a few shakedown trips first before I do any long ones. Hopefully a few more year's motoring and adventuring 😁
Thank you.
Looking forward to you guys getting more than 100k subscribers
Complicated solutions come from lack of planning or necessity. Basically the clutch release bearing hydraulic pipe did not line up where it naturally fell so had to be dropped or you you could not get to it to uninstall and replace some a workaround was developed
Very rare to see the female of the species derive such pleasure from seemingly mundane tasks. 😂
Great work as always you guys. 👍🇬🇧
Love the work, its great to see it coming together again. doing all that under the Australia sun of 32deg would be a no no
Schön gemacht.
Great work. 32 degrees C is not that bad. 42 degrees is. BTW it has been cold enough this winter that I have seen my glow plug light come on quite a few times in the morning. Great work on the rebuild. I look forward to the new releases each Sunday evening for us.
I had the privilege 😂 to work with South African Germans , whom were fantastic people .
You Vera and Christian remind me of them , fanatically good at what they did and ideas they had , and humorous , in the motor and egeneering field in South Africa .
fantastic work making that extractor you are very luck having the tools to make the special tools thank you for the very interesting video
I would say fortunate rather than lucky. Christian and Vera’s workshop & parts store is the result of years of decision making. A good quality lathe & the skill to use it enables remarkable things, such as the manufacture of special tools. I believe Christian’s dad is a master toolmaker.
😅HI professor Christian. Once again a interesting entertaining blog. Surprised you not starting your own land rover garage and put the main dealers to shame. Send my love to Vera. Regards Dave UK.
@14.37 That's how the ' Land Rover ' virus entered the body, Vera should have worn shoes inside the workshop. You need to put a sign up, no PPE = no entry. I am sure Vera will recover in no time better than LR Time!
Super super super!
Concentric slave cylinders are the made to piss mechanics and DIYers off. Mine takes 7-8 hours to replace, when done by a qualified mechanic or 10 hours with me cursing and throwing wrenches.
I was pondering cutting an access port on my clutch bell housing when it failed
