    A lot of people fear what AI is going to do to artists and the industry. As an artist myself I'm not worried one bit. And for a number of reasons.
    A company we work for doesn't care how we make the artwork for their projects. They want it done fast and they want it done well. AI makes that job much easier.
    Digital artists have had stock photo services available for decades now to make that easier. And then there is photography where you click a button to get an instant image.
    And for traditional painters it will likely make their craft and skills even more valuable. Because now more than ever there will be people who want to see how the artwork they are buying is made. Video or photos of it in stages. Documentation of the process that becomes a selling feature for traditional artists. It's a type of authenticity for people who buy because of the artist they connect with rather than a random pretty picture.
    People who only want a pretty picture can get free images anywhere for personal use and have it printed for themselves very easily. That has been the case for a very long time.
    As others have said. Artists have always used the latest in technology to push the boundary of what they can create. The process never really mattered to them. It has always been about the end result and our ideas being represented with the vision we imagined.
    So I think it's a very exciting time for artists.
    But that is only my two cents.

    • @MeyTribe
      @MeyTribe  ปีที่แล้ว +7

      I agree, a lot of the artists i know LOVE these AI tools- as it makes their job easier, from creation to inspiration.
      And yeah, even graphic designers these days have easy tools for making logos, what was 2 decades ago a job for a pro with Photoshop is now something anyone can do with Canva, Kittl, Place it, etc...
      Artists def have that extra marketing tool, I remember going into detail about it when i did the IG marketing series and one of the videos was just for artists- explaining how the main focus on the IG account should be them, behind the scenes, stages, etc.
      I really do love your 2 cents :)

    I like using Deep Dream Generator which uses both base images and styles as well as text-prompts. Also, if you want to make the images bigger to put on products, Affinity Photo does this by replacing missing pixels using AI (from what I understand). I've increased the size of some of my images and they look great!

    After subscribing to Midjourney I made my own server in discord so that solved the issue of having to see everyone’s everything in my business. However, it still goes to the public/community gallery by default. So that’s what the $20 extra privacy is for. But I had to use a different program to blow up the pixels and DPI. After generating like 4,000+ images only one of them was cool enough to me to actually put on a canvas. I actually like how it turned out.

As for keeping your creations from being used by anyone on CF, you would just download your creation and then remove it from your listing. Viola! Now you have a copy and no one else can use it. I hope this helps.

    I use small 512 AI renders to make parts of a painting then I photo bash them together in Affinity Photo for a concept to paint over. It's what I have done for years already using stock photos.
    There is also something called outpainting in Dall-E that lets you extend the image outward in sections to make it larger. It creates more of the scene. But you will still need another AI to upscale it for print.
    There are free versions of stable diffusion you can run on your own computer now. Some even work on a CPU so you don't need an expensive graphic card.
    It does take much longer on a CPU and they are not the easiest to install. But free is free.

    I have a MidJourney subscription. It's fascinating watching MJ's development - it has a couple of test modes at the moment that give you different results from prompts, with one of them a photo mode. And they just brought in a remix option so you can tweak your creations. I figure that I'm going to have to invest in an upscaler like Lets Enhance or Topaz Gigapixel for individual images. There is something you can run on your pc that does it for free but I haven't been able to get it working yet. But for now I'm playing around with the MJ tiles option and using them with Zazzle's tiling function on products, which is fun. I do fear not having the imagination to come up with amazing prompts using the many variables - some of the images others are creating are mind-blowing :) There are lots of tutorials and guides out there though.

    • @MeyTribe
      @MeyTribe  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, i have heard MJ def changed. For me it was all about comfort, and maybe at this point- also wanting something without a large learning curve- so I can just do it 1-3 minutes a day and get results that I don't have to later enlarge somewhere else.
      With Zazzle make sure that your initial tile is good enough for the size of the product, as Zazzle doesn't often give you DPI control or tell you if something is in good quality. I'd try ordering an item or two just to see it ends up looking well before investing the time in mass-creating (also, when you order you can have the actual item to photograph yourself :))
      I am also trying to think of good prompts, maybe I will try and ask copyAI to come up with art AI prompts for me LOL

    Great video! Just one question, what is the preference pixel count or size for POD?

    • @MeyTribe
      @MeyTribe  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      POD is not an item, it's a method of selling items. If you make a 5x5 inches sticker, 1500x1500 pixels would be great... If you wanna design a shower curtain- you'll need different dimensions.
      There are over 1500 POD items, perhaps more... there's no 1 answer.
      The pixel size for a product would be the size of the product, multiplied by the required DPI. So if you need to design something that is 20x20 inches, that requires a minimum of 230 DPI, you'll need 4600x4600 pixels.

    Thank you for the comparison. ❤ I didn’t know nightcafé and I will definitely try it out.
    However I subscribed to midjourney 10 days ago and I am obsessed about it. I agree that the usability is not that easy and I had to watch several videos to get used to it although I am a nerd. 😂 Created 880 pictures till now and only about 4 or 5 different themes or prompts.
    You get unlimited servertime in the so called relaxed mode, it’s a little slower but ok. For me it is necessary to work on an idea with several attempts (about 100 or so 🙈) for a picture I like. That means experimenting a lot with the different modi. Atm I’m having a lot of fun and I’m getting a lot of inspiration. 😊
    Not sure yet how to use it for PoD. Only with private mode, I guess. I will try to upscale in Affinity Photo for larger items.

Which all you need is a photoshop program like adobe photoshop or gimp. Oh for Midjourney, if you go to the website you can go straight to the creations you’ve made on Discord just by clicking a link. :)

      I saw that option, however what bothered me was seeing other things pop up in my "creation" process. And the resolution was still very low. What do you do to increase the image quality for art generated by MJ?

      I would say not really, depends on the DPI requirements of the printing company.

    The issue I have with Creative Fabrica AI is that it won’t let you upscale without sharing. If I just want to experiment to create a new design, I can’t unless I choose to share it with the Creative Fabrica community. I understand That this is their business model, but I would gladly pay more just to be able to create and upscale without sharing!

    • @MeyTribe
      @MeyTribe  ปีที่แล้ว

      What do you mean you can't upscale without sharing? You can't upscale at all (even they told me that the only option is 512PX...)

      CFSpark's subscription currently allows you to publish with a choice to share or not share your prompt and you can then download the files bigger than the 512pix size.

    With the recent explosion of AI, I'd say it's a matter of (probably very short) time before you can print any size, any style, anything at all. So "no AI is going to replace an artist" YET.

    • @MeyTribe
      @MeyTribe  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, I see more and more AI apps having better sizes... But yeah, "replacing" artists is such a large concept, artists still exist, for many things that machines have been creating for decades.

    • @katharinafisher394
      @katharinafisher394 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MeyTribe It may be a large concept, but I'm a tiny piece of that, and to me it is kind of devastating. I've started with premade book cover creation recently (thanks, rona), and I'm just kind of posting anything I can produce on the site I'm using, picking up my skills as I go. Putting myself into client's shoes, I would choose AI over a photoshop artist in a heartbeat. No tedious communication needed, no trying to get your specific idea across and rejecting various designs, no waiting for a week or two. AI can do faster, cheaper, and (compared with my skill level at least) better. And imagine the possibilities, just playing with it, turning your idea this way and that, getting results you hadn't even imagined (I know, I tired it). Not to mention all the videos popping up on 'how to use AI to do xyz', which are basically instructions on how to cut the human artist out of the process.
      But you can't argue with progress (definition of cheaper, faster, better), and for every artist who feels threatened by that there are hundreds who will benefit, and for every person who argues 'it's not art' (imagine a mocking voice here), there will be hundreds who disagree or at the very least don't give a damn.
      I'll keep going for now, I'm already thinking of branching out, playing around with designing fonts and thinking about getting back into drawing to maybe produce some vector designs, maybe try to get onto creative fabrica (this is how I found your vids, which are great btw💕), but I can't help but feel that my future prospects as an artist of any kind are sort of bleak.

    Speaking of Canva's confusing terms of usage, I recently had a design taken down that was made with one of Canva's free elements. I thought they were okay to use for POD. apparently, not anymore

    • @MeyTribe
      @MeyTribe  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Yup, I know, it's getting so confusing to know what you can or cannot use.
      It's also with their music. When I first saw they had music, i had a pro account, and I used a piece of the music in a video transition on this channel- got a copyright claim, was shocked!! I sent that music company my deepest apologies, I was crazed from worrying and feeling bad. It took me an hour to find the right document on Canva that finally said i couldn't have used that music for pretty much ANYTHING- so why was that even there??
      I am building up on my next video, scheduled for the 28th to compare Canva with Kittl, and this is def one of the things I will be mentioning there!

    I would not use AI anymore for any commercial anything since I know/learned they just steal other people's images etc. to make your composite. I do use the AI's just to have fun and get some laughs. It is a great stress relief in general and great for breaking the monotony of creating... - Heidi

      I have been searching at times to see if the design they had created was looking like something else, and mostly I found that it didn't. Even with the portraits on NC I couldn't find these "people" anywhere... But that was purely my research and can vary from creation to creation. I do get the point though, truly. For most - I simply use it as inspo or to retrace in my own style.

    Hey Mey! I just discovered another print on demand company, Print Aura.. have you ever used it or heard of it? Prinify's website was comparing it to Printful and Printify and the website looks a little sketchy to me. Just wondering if you know about it or have used their services
