I love watching panning videos. I tried to do it personally, but found that it was a chore for me (even when I loved the products.). So for me what works best (I don’t have a YT or really a online presence), is to just keep track of my empties. I know in my head what I’m trying to use up and sometimes I rotate thru it, but it isn’t really “official” in any way, but I get very motivated when I finish products. With my tiny IG following (mostly friends and co-workers) I post my empties and that is really a way for me to keep track of all of my progress more than anything else. Today I finished a primer that I have been working on. In general I think I have too many face primers so I’ve been focusing on finishing them over the last few months and this is the 2nd I’ve finished this year.
When I first heard about project panning, people would set the goal to pan or finish X number of products before they could buy anything else. It was the start of low/no-buys, but for short periods of time. Now, so many people are on low/no-buys, that it's become about hitting pan or finishing up products before moving on to something else already in their collection. My interest has shifted from wanting to know what's new to wanting to see who is using up what, and how long does it take. It's hard for me to watch people who have multiple ALEX 9 drawers, because I can't stop thinking, how are you possibly going to use all of that makeup?
I feel this so much! The amount of makeup that so many of us have (even if it’s not as much as others, it’s still more than we can use) is overwhelming and I feel so bad about the waste 😭💖
You got me into watching project pan videos. I don't focus on panning anything, my collection is quite minimalist so I end up hitting pan on a lot of products anyway. I feel like the products I hit pan on quickly are not the products other people typically find easy to pan. For me it's easy to finish bullet lipsticks (if I use them as blush) and to pan deep shimmer eyeshadows (I use them a lot in the outer v & crease or all over the eye or as eyeliner).
I can't believe I've been a subbie for 3 years now! I remember when you were going cruelty free and starting to pan. Time flies watching your videos Kelly! It was back when you had a banner in your background. Good times...
If you get a food scale make sure it measures in fractions of grams. Mine measures in ounces or grams, but only in whole numbers, so it’s tough to assess progress.
I do get excited when I use up a product. Blushes and highlighters are so hard to pan. Foundations, setting powder and bronzers are the easiest for me to use up.
Its crazy that its been 3 years I have been around for almost that long! And as you learned about panning I was also learning about it! I have learned what works for me panning wise it took a long time. And I think blush and lipsticks are the hardest for me to pan. I totally agree about gimme products they definitely help.
You always look so beautiful but I love your hair & shirt today!! 😍💖💖 I was going to mention how awesome the gold earrings and warm tone shirt look on you but you also rock pastels, silver, & cool tones! 😍🙌🏻💖
I first discovered project panning through Jackie Hei and Kat and Hailey from Beauty News. Then I discovered your channel and so many other great project panning channels. The easiest and my favorite items to pan are bronzers and a handful of eyeshadows. Sometimes the shadows are singles or in a palette. Lipsticks, blush, and highlight are most challenging for me.
You were the first youtuber I watched that focused on using up products in general and because of you every item in my makeup (and skincare) routine are now part of my project plan project so I can use up my collection before I buy more. I also swap out my pallets so I can use a mix of everything but I use it as a chance to try to go out of the box on what colors I use so I don’t use up 4 colors and not touch all the others.
Oh wow! This is the first time I'm watching one of your videos and I'm early. I'm into starting project pan. I can't wait to show everything I'm trying to use up.
I have only done one official Project Pan, but I am definitely inspired to start another Project Pan! Great words of advice that panning helps you consider purchasing new makeup. Your hair is pretty here
I wish more people would do skin care project pans ! And not complain about it, like say oh my God guys this is so boring who cares I’m only going to show progress every few months and then by then they just show us all the empties!! Or one girl literally would not open up the package because who cares, it’s just lotion?? Skin care project panning is fun to watch too!!#firstWorldProblemsRant lmao
I don't consider that I'm working on a project pan, but I do have several drugstore foundations that I don't care for so I'm trying to use them up so that I can focus only on the ones that work for me. Clearing out space...not wasting money on testing new foundations because I know which ones work now. I do go through a lot of loose and pressed powders so those move through my collection fairly quickly. I agree on the eyeshadow point. I like to use different palettes. Don't see me ever hitting pan on one. I was occasionally watching a TH-camr who was doing a no buy year based on some financial hardships that she was facing. I wasn't familiar with her but could see that she had a lot of high end products. When she started panning her ABH palettes, I really couldn't understand why. If I couldn't buy anything, I would want to stretch those as far as possible. Anyway...to each her own.
By far I think the hardest product to pan is blush because aoart from cheeks you can use it as an eyeshadow but still it's bit tricky unlike bronzer , highlighter etc.
its funny how our easiest and hardest are opposites. i can pan liquid blush so easily but can never hit pan on powders. also i love panning eyeshadow (just one pan at a time though)
With eyeshadows, I usually will make a goal that I want to hit pan on x amount of shadows in the palette.. when I reach that goal, I will roll it out.. the one thing I never pan is mascara, there's no satisfaction in using up a mascara😅

I'm still at the phase of "panning in order to buy something new", haha! But my makeup collection is very minimalistic and I'm a newbie panner 🤷♀️

me too! I discovered Kelly because of her first project pan :) until then I didn't hear about it at all
Thank you for all the support over the years :)
Your hair looks so cute like this. I love all the creative hairdos you do, they look great.
I get so excited when you finish a product, and it's not even my project pan lol
Me too! Haha
Hey kelly! Would you consider a mini quarantine project pan? Maybe something focused on skincare/bodycare over a few weeks :)

I remember when you were doing those first projects with the non-cruelty free products!

Do you think it's harder for you to pan highlighters or blushes more?

I love project pan videos thank you for sharing kisses from Greece!!!
Loving all of your content!
Can you do another dog picks your makeup ❤️
its funny how our easiest and hardest are opposites.

Ooh that’s funny!
Great advice and information. Thought I was following on Instagram but I wasn't. 🤔😬😯 I am now. Lol.
Never done a project pan before but live when I I use up my single items. Pallets of any kind I hate using up. Weird, I know
With eyeshadows, I usually will make a goal that I want to hit pan on x amount of shadows in the palette.. when I reach that goal, I will roll it out.. the one thing I never pan is mascara, there's no satisfaction in using up a mascara😅
I can not hit pan on my Physicians Formula butter bronzer. It's never ending!
No kidding! I've feel like I've been working on mine forever!
I recently hit pan on two of my butter blushes, it's crazy how much product you get! You can do it!
@@TimiSterr Wow! Good for you for hitting pan on two butter blushes! That's awesome! And thanks for the encouragement.
You can try using it on your body, as an eyeshadow, and layer it with other eyeshadows or bronzers
@@ber1779 Great ideas, thanks!!
pretty hair
Hello Kelly how are you
I’m good. Thank you for asking :)
