Thanks for this, Graham. I especially liked the balance of the different tracks - both in terms of their places in the mix and their individual selection and layering. That opening bass line is superb. Its later, dialled down version, is perfect for the task to which you've assigned it. Thanks again.

Thanks so much, Karl. I'm gratified to hear you like the bass line, it was a headache to manipulate and took up the biggest percentage my time!

This is one of my favorites.
Another great version of this piece was done by Alexander Weski a while back.

Well, perhaps knowingly, perhaps unknowingly, but after the first seconds of watching this video I though you were doing a "meta-arrangement", i.e. arranging the Swingle Singers' arrangement :)
I always loved their version of this prelude, with its airy quality, and the use of voices in yours gives it even more of an ethereal aura.

Thanks, OrzoMondo, ha, well you're not wrong. The Swingle Singers have been hugely influential and there's a whiff of Bachinas Brasilieras with plucked strings in the mix. If I had to nominate a perfect arrangement their's would be at the top of the list. Also their versions of the Art of Fugue (9) and c minor Partita are wonderful - They bring back happy memories discovering them in the early seventies.

@@grahamcaldecott Same here - my dad had the record, then later in Italy we had a very famous TV program in which they used Swingle's rendition of Air on the G string as the main theme, and I was hooked. Good point about Villa Lobos, I never thought about it!

As usual a pleasure to listen to. Your version is "swinging Bach" and it makes sense.

Thanks, Andreas. The Swingle Singers have been a big influence here.
