I'm disappointed that RF4 is generally referred to as the best... because its so good I don't think I'll be able to enjoy the older RF games as much if I get them and going back to Harvest Moon seems like a downgrade
Dave Survivor Agreed. Finished Rf4 and decided to try out Rf2 since my friend had it. I played it for about 1h and dropped it. Hopefully (if!) Rf5 was to come out it'll be better..

The music is not great. It was cool. Other opening is good too but i like a calm, peace and heartwarming song like this. If they have system control like harvest moon animal parade after married and add more cute girl from rf 3 this would be great.
I wouldn't say this is one of the BEST rpg as it is heavily simplistic. Levels and items matter most so not much of strategy. Smash A and hope you win I would say and would totally agree with is that it has some of the nicest farm simulations out there. Aside the obvious Stardew Valley and old Harvest Moon games, this is quite good as it has some serious characters' development, which is way too good for a game like this. I mean, a few triple A titles cant compare to this. The first woman you is Clorica, who has difficulties in making decisions. Making the choices for her isn't going to make her happy, it means you aren't accepting for who she is. THIS IS AMAZING! This is way better than in RF3, someone like Raven is all like: "Me monster, you shouldn't like me! Go away!". It isn't bad but going from a mediocre personality to an outstanding one is quite impressive! Rune Factory 5, please be good! I will gladly spend hundreds of hours if the characters are on par with RF4
I thought it would be more like the older alternate intros where is it shows your developed life. But this was just a skim of all the characters and the kids.

Probably one idea to bring back Rune Factory would be for Marvelous Studio to create a Rune Factory anime series (and probably use this song from Rune Factory 4 as the opening theme for the anime series). Of course that would require Marvelous to first release the anime series in Japan first and then do a Western release in English dub. It's just an idea in my opinion, but I would be all for it and if it happens beyond 2018, I would sign up to be a voice actor for the English dub version of the anime and any other games that Marvelous would decide to release.
while I would love for this, its honestly almost inevitable that the anime would be pretty bad quality T-T especially with the company going bankrupt. They dont have the money to make an anime as good as the opening..
I got the game like 5 days ago and already at the floating empire. I really love the game I always got harvest moon but never rune factory and it amazing.
Never got to watch this alternative OP as my card was lost before pregnancy event triggered. I thought that I had moved on from this game, but something inside me knew that I did not. A year later, I bought the game again, and re-married Margaret, and then I finally got to see this opening. I am unnecessarily addicted to this song, and I have no idea why. Every time I launch my game I sit through the whole OP intentionally.
Amazing how much I love this song... considering I can only understand about 1 word in the whole thing, and I've never played this game before, only Frontier and Tides of Destiny. This edges out RFTOD opening songs to be the best in the series, in my opinion.

-.- I don't like this at all, it's simply the exact same as the original with two extra slides involving the children.....while I disliked how the Rune Factory 3 alt was so Shara-heavy, at least it showed a huge difference from the original intro. Everything had grown, it showed everything peacefully, the music was slower and song more softly by a male singer, it was quite nice....except it focused damn near solely on Shara as the married girl, even if you married someone entirely different (the original intro showed all girls equally, while Shara hogs the alt intro). That was really annoying, but less so than the laziness shown here, there may as well not be an alt intro if this was all that was changed.

And Yes the images are the same, but they are in a complete different order with minor similarities, the very beginning (changes when the petal drops in the original), the scenes with bado and the running of the Lest/Frey, and then the end where the Frey/Lest appear with the Bachelors/Bachelorettes, respectively, to the end, that occur in the exact same places in both, otherwise, very different. They did. They had already confirmed RF5 and had it in production.
However, Neverland went bankrupt and the game had to be canceled
But the franchise is now owned by Marvelous Games which is located in Europe. In other words, don't give up on Rune Factory just yet.
