I’m so excited you have an asr ! Thanks for this ! This is amazing ! Great to have this and use it to make things calculated … don’t need it always but man ! Thanks 🫡🫶🏽
You're welcome 👍🏼 oh cool, awesome Sampler! FYI, I'm actually working on the ASR-10 deep dive at the moment.. there'll be several episodes.. I hope to have the first up on the parent channel @tonelab next week🙏🏻
That one there is a SCSI2SD v5.2, which I've had for a few years now.. but, I'll be upgrading it to a ZuluSCSI from SamplerZone.com very soon, as a ZuluSCSI can connect to multiple SCSI IDs and offer your ASR multiple Hard Drives, which unfortunately the SCSI2SD doesn't do 👍🏻
The 'concept' will. But, I'm unsure of the EPS Classic's Sample Rate... so, what you can do is.. use the S900 / S950 calculator.. and manually key in your Sample Rate. Here's the link to it here 👍🏼 tonelab.tv/bpm2vrsc.html
That's a great question.. and put simply, your LOOP POS can get 'inside' other positions of your Sample where your Sequencer can't. If you've messed with Ableton before.. you might recall the 'Play Start' head can be in 'earlier' locations of your Sample, opposed to where you Loop points are. So, it's a little like that.. but, doing this with a 'pad' sound might've been a better choice to demonstrate that as samples with 'slow' attacks could really benefit from this 👍🏼
Cheers! 🙏🏻this particular trick opens up a lot of possibilities, it's a wonder Samplers don't have this 'feature' built-in.. PS. I'll be doing a lot more with the ASR in the coming weeks / months👌🏼🙏🏻
@@analogcrunch4716 it be the ones with no profile picture talking about “real” on the internet… whatever man learning communities don’t need none of that to keep it real with ya.
@@analogcrunch4716 What do you mean by don't need "this?" A helping tutorial or the Ensoniq ASR-10 itself? Either way it's a lose-lose situation on your end so I'd stop while you're ahead & quit being a dipsh!t, dipsh!t. Cuz even some of the biggest & best beat makers/producers in the business had a little help a time or two on how to figure something out on the ASR. And if they needed help on the ASR common sense would also tell you they had an ASR in their music gear arsenal, right? I mean, Kanye, RZA, The Alchemist, Timbaland, Jake One, Pharrell, are just a few dudes who used the iconic Ensoniq ASR-10 on a lot of joints in Hip-Hop! Are you telling me those dudes aren't "real beat makers?" 🤔 Shiittee... 😆😜🤣😉

Just curious what SCSI adapter are you using for this asr 10 and where did u get it?

@@tonelabqt I’m about to get the Zulu scsi for my eps. Will I need. Any scsi cables or does it plug right into my straylight scsi interface?
Dope! 👍

Does this work for the Ensoniq EPS classic

Appreciate a new ASR tutorial… but why would u need to do this…. You can just sequence it/quantize

Yo, this is the new spot for ASR heads right here! 🍿 not once have I seen anybody talk about this in detail. Sounds fantastic! 💾
