      Thanks Peter 🙏🏻 ...in hindsight, I probably could've gone on into a little more detail about the Decay.. but, simply put.. the Decay cancels out any 'Tuning' settings you may have.. so, while you can get the SP1200 to implement a slightly longer Decay.. your Sample will remain at nominal pitch in doing so. I'll demonstrate this in an upcoming Quick-Tip 👍🏼

      @@tonelabqt thank you. Your videos are very informative. Hope it's ok that I have another question:
      The filterstage is the last stage before the physical outputs.
      That should mean that most of the high frequency aliasing artifacts (especially on out 1+2) will get filtered.
      So when I hear a track with (for example) a kickdrum and the aliasing is clearly audible, the kickdrum sample was either not tuned up/down or it was send thru any of the outs 3-8 or it was send thru out 1/2 but whithout the using the filter. Correct?

      @@peterpiper0815 Well, specifically describing the Emu SP1200, channels 7&8 are unfiltered. Channels 3, 4, 5 & 6 have a constant/static filter.. while Channels 1 & 2 have a 'dynamic envelope-like' filter.. which appears to slope across the duration of the Sample. But, I can't say for sure what your Kick example would be.. a perfect octave Up or Down seems to sit-outside the aliasing artifacts 👍🏼

      ​@@tonelabqt Yes 1+2 are filtered with the SSM2044 controlled by an relative fast envelope (about 0.5 second to reach its cutoff at around 400Hz). I guess my comment was a bit misleading cause by talking about tuning the Kick up/down I didn't mean that this might influence the filter or its envelope. I just mentioned the tuning because an untuned sample doesn't have aliasing.
      I just wondered if a sample on 1+2 does have any audible high frequent aliasing. In theory it shoudn't (even when it's tuned to something like -8 where aliasing is very present).

      @@peterpiper0815 yeah, I think it's a little more like 'most' have the 2044, I have read that some of the later re-issues missed out on the opportunity to feature 2044's due to a shortage of supply 🤔 which, I guess can also be said about the Rossum. But, I see what you mean, re: 'aliasing'. I've never noticed it.. but, then I have 'heard' that 'silence' be interpreted as a 'ring' when 'off' 0 tuning. It's an interesting question.. and, one that, dare I say, would be a 'Yes' for many Samplers, not just the SP1200.. because what you're describing I've heard come out of many Samplers.. so, I'd say that's a 'Yes' to the original question, however.. I don't think the SP1200 is alone there... pretty sure I've heard the S900 do that, the MPC3000, S3000XL, Emulator II.. definitely heard it from 'pitching down' to a degree with those too 👍🏼

    U really should get a isla s2400 and do some videos on that beat machine. I gotta say thank you on the sp1200 tho. I didn't think I could learn anything else when it comes to the 1200. U the man

      🙏🏻 thanks.. I haven't seen one of those in my neck of the woods yet, I'm sure someone has one down this way though. There's a Rossum coming in about a month or so, not mine.. but a close friend is temporarily donating me 'his' for a 'tute shoot'... which, I'm keen to how the new 'Disk Module' functions 👍🏼

      @@tonelabqt listen, i know u don't have a isla s2400 but u seem like u know alot about drum machines all the pros use to make beats. I wonder if u could explain how time and pitch stretch work. Cuz I'm having a hard time understanding the manual and Editorial on the 2400. 1 of the easiest ones to use is on the mpc. They time stretch and chop/slicing is way easier then the 2400. Thank u so much

      @@yashareltheilluminated187 Hmm.. I've never seen the GUI on the 2400, so I really speculate what it does in there.. however, have you got Ableton or messed with Ableton before?! .. because the Time-Stretching inside Ableton is very intuitive. Even if you don't have Ableton, I suggest looking up some Time-stretching clips and watch that in action.. it should solve that mystery for you, instantly 🙏🏻
