Congratulations on completing the tapestry ... your hard work has paid off, it's looking awesome! Loving watching your progress with the zoo, so far it"s all looking fabulous.
The zoo is coming on really nicely, and it's really good that you noticed this early on that the modular splits were covered now rather than when you finished! Making a large MOC transportable is an true logistical artform, and I think my effort this year is the best I've managed - we will find out when we get to Bricktastic in a couple of weeks... I also really like the idea of 'gently placing' the footpath tils on the base plates rathter than fully seating them. The number of times I've built something then had to rip it back up because I wasn't happy - this will be a real time/patience saver!
@@ZooBricks It was a lovely little show - I hope to be back again in future! I'm getting a bit nervous about Bricktastic; the standard of some of the builds I've said is epic!
That is a good idea.. my original intention was actually to cover it in baseplates first so the plywood was never meant to be on show.. however, that was a dumb and expensive idea. It is something I’ve been thinking about, I’ll see if I can find a solution! Painting plywood is a pain in the bum. 🙄😅
Wowie! I would make sure not to put all the buildings in the same general area and make an effort to spread them out a good bit; but then again, there's probably still a lot of them left to build.
Looking good. I have only seen images of the Viking village but it seems a few small changes could make it look like a themed climbing structure for the rambunctious guests to run a little energy off on.
I was actually thinking about putting the viking village on the outside of the goat exhibit and ‘bolting’ the exhibit onto it.. this way there could be multiple farm enclosures attached to it in different sides.. not sure yet, still playing!
I can envision that. So many possibilities. Every time I look at the Viking VIllage I wonder why I haven't picked one up to work into my high fantasy medieval town then I remember most of my Lego budget goes to Bricklink and I start mathing out how long it is until Christmas. Looking forward to seeing what you do with it.
This is epic. Nice work on the gift shop, maybe it is too small but you’ve got to start somewhere right. You mentioned you watch Bricksie he’s always changing out older builds and upgrading them. Think of it that way you can keep it as is for now and then change it out later on if need be
Looking great so far Maxine... and don't put yourself down - that tapestry looks amazing... the 3D aspect really works! The goat enclosure looks interesting with the old wall... is it going to be a 'petting zoo' type enclosure? Re the shop... you should pick up some of the balloon animals Lego made, and the balloons that came in the CMF party series to sell... and the new merry-go-round that comes out on the 1st March may go well too. Also, after seeing your Lego Zoo, I checked out your actual Zoo videos on YT... lots of great work going on there too.
Thank you for your kind comments! I haven’t made it into a petting exhibit actually, but people could probably reach over and suit themselves! 😂 I want a ‘farm’ bit in the Zoo so that would be a good idea. Also - love the balloon animals.. definetly gonna need a bigger shop! 😅
@@ZooBricks A bigger shop is always a great idea... but why not have a couple of vendors/carts selling balloons in different parts of the Zoo? Little refreshment stalls too.
The lug I'm part of 8s working on building a zoo collaboration. I plan on building the maintenance and grounds keeping area and could use some input from someone that works at a zoo. I love what you have done so far.
The gift shop is a fantastic moc. The frog handles are simply genius. Should be incredibly proud of the tapestry - it's a totally different skill set to do that vs buildings and landscaping. You've got a ton of talent -- how long have you been working with LEGO?
Aw thanks for your kind comment! I haven’t been doing Lego MOCs long to be honest.. I started this project last October just to see how it goes and test my landscaping skills and I am happy with the progress so far - learning new skills as I go and new techniques are developing. I’m naturally quite creative/arty so its fun to use Lego as a tool! Thanks for your support! 😎
@@ZooBricks Wow, you're a fast learner and def have a "go big or go home" mentalalty by starting with creating a massive zoo. Looking forward to seeing it develop.
Great update, im really glad you took the advice on re splitting the mils plates back up, that genuinely is a horrific pain at events to realise hours before etc.. if you think all that through as you go you will have no issues
It wasn’t too bad, I knew I had done it wrong but am a glutton for punishment clearly! Never again!! Also, it would be great to take parts of this to shows so I’ll be thankful for doing it I’m sure!
Great work! I love the tapestry. The work on breaking up base plate areas must have been tedious, but it works beautifully. I’m looking forward to more on the goat enclosure!
Ohh I’m not sure about non-minifigure animals yet.. but its tricky as a lot of animals just don’t exist as their own moulds! I’ve heard there might be a red panda coming out this year and a few others so 🤞🏻 any giant animals I ‘build’ will be sculptures I reckon 🤔
I reckon the viking village will sit nicely next to this goat exhibit, I'm trying to work it out in my head just now.. I've got in on the Bricklink Castle set, so thinking about that for the hill when it comes :)

Thank you, looking forward to seeing the Tapestry again in a few weeks at Manchester! 😎

You are doing an amazing job with the lego and the actual zoo too! Am really loving this series and it's getting my creative juices flowing
Thanks so much for your support! I appreciate it 🙏🏻
Nice
Nice to see you back Maxine 😊 The modular design hurts my head, I'm glad it's you doing it and not me 😂 Looking forward to seeing what comes next 😊
Haha it’s just trial and error with random pieces 🤷🏻♀️ keeps me outta trouble! 😅
You should paint the table baseplate green! It’d make the videos more appealing as you make progress 😊

I am so invested in this series! I cannot wait for the next video! Keep up the good work 👍
Thank you, that really helps me keep going 🙏🏻
We’ve missed you Maxine…everything is looking so good, keep up the good work
Thank you! 🙏🏻
So much work going into this. Keep it up. We'll done
Thank you! Need more hours in the day 🤓

There is a lot to build yet! But I definitely need and will take this into consideration! Thanks for watching 🙏🏻

I love the wall for the goat enclosure, very well built.
Thank you 😊
The tapestry is amazing!!
I think the giraffe would look great at the entrance/exit area.
Its looking great I love the gift shop with all the toys!
Thank you Katie! Thanks so much for your Lego donation as well, such a nice surprise! 🙏🏻

Oh amazing, you should film it and put it on TH-cam so we can see it! There aren’t many!

Any plans for non-minifigure animals like a giraffe or the like?

Why don't you put the goats and viking village on top of the mountain?
Moves it a bit back, but makes it an awesome eye-catcher

Cool. Are you counting how many Lego peces you use as well as it's size?
Haha.. no. Totally failed on the piece count thing. I did consider it after I had started but it was toooo late. I’m afraid that ship has sailed 😂
