    So Ed is concerned with the cost of heat pumps, so he puts a tax on the cost of boilers. And on natural gas. It isn't just net zero that is a mistake it's the whole idea that CO2 is driving global warming. This is and always has been utter rubbish.

      Climate change has been going on since the start of time!! The sun is getting hotter as does any heat source! The earth and mother nature is far beyond us...we need to adapt not create more problems lying that it is due to using natural sources causes mother nature to act differently....where is the real evidence, once upon a time the pyramids were surrounded by green forests, look at what fossils have been found and where this is natural to our earth 🤔🤔🤔

      Yes, they do work. Earlier models didn't work as British engineers didn't really understand them. However, they indeed work now. It's all about the type of heat pump installation for your house. Also, Some plumbers have tried and failed to install them successfully and get them to work with minimal knowledge. The training takes about 2 years to be super-efficient at their installation.

      @Simple thermodynamics I'm afraid. Better off using the electricity through a heating element placed in water to heat it...Also, the dubious claims that they are 300% efficient makes them 'perpetual motion machines'. So the whole thing is a scam. They work in open sparsely populated areas, are ground sourced heat pumps as opposed to air and only attain the theoretical maximum a heat engine can attain, which is close to gas boilers being 90-95 % efficient. They are not suited for overpopulated Blighty. The energy for the heat pumps is coming from gas boiler power stations running at say max 95% efficiency. Given transmission losses for power distribution, the heat pump is actually less efficient than a using gas boiler directly for heat. Don't put to much credence on CoP, ,real efficiency is what matters and this maxes at an impossible 100%

    • @andybrice2711
      @andybrice2711 3 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      @robertjames4908 Well a lot of that is definitely incorrect. The “200% efficiency” is actually the Coefficient of Performance. So it’s not defying thermodynamics. That CoP means that by definition, it would not be better to use an immersion heater.
      The flaw of air-source heat pumps is that they are expensive, and unreliable in certain weather conditions. Not that they’re a scam, or that they can’t work in crowded places.

    Net zero was always a con an excuse to tax us to poverty. If you have the highest prices in Europe for gas, electricity, petrol and diesel along with the highest commercial and domestic rates in Europe could the polititians tell us how our industry, agricultural food supply and transport industry compete with anyone all these costs Drive inflation not wage increases. The working poor are in poverty because of these idiots. Until net zero is gone nothing will change. Its time industry and the billionaires intervened and get them to reverse these policies because they sure won't listen to the working poor.
    The polititians should tax us at 100 per cent and give us pocket money and food stamps. We are almost at that point anyway.
    Support and vote reform uk to end the insanity. Illegal immigrants cost us 44 grand a year. Ukraine 2 billion a year for bullets and bombs. And God knows how much in foreign aid but we can't give our pensioners on the poverty line a heating allowance. Let that sink in. Polititians of this Marxist government are not the solution they are the problem just like the tories before them. Net zero climate con, an excuse to tax.

The deal. They had to drill through their boiler so it couldn't be used...so now we are beholden to the Corporations instead of being able to burn coal or logs if things get bad...I met a guy in the woods one day with a six-pack, and a barrow, he used to forage for his energy whilst he had a few cans... better than sitting in the house 🤷...
