Had an absolute blast making this game over the past three years and I am so incredibly happy that it got featured at a GDQ. Thanks to mouse for running it, flygone for being on coms with me, and melo for hosting the donations. This is truly a run that I'll never forget, and I'm glad to have been able to share this moment with these incredible individuals at such an awesome event for a wonderful cause.
Oh wow, that's your game! It's honestly wonderful, I've seen lots of people play it and have nothing but good stuff to say about Celeste.SMC. It must feel incredible to see it played at a GDQ event!!

This is AMAZING. I happened upon this completely by accident and cannot wait to try this out and show my son (a big fan of both SMW hacks and Celeste coincidentally)

Celeste always gave me Kaizo Mario vibes so this is perfect.
Maddy Thorson has made kaizo games, it's part of where she got experience in level design, so in a way Celeste getting adapted as a kaizo Mario game is the whole thing coming full circle :)
These are my favorite kinds of runs! Fast, technical, and impressive to watch, great commentary, a good amount of donations sprinkled throughout, and a hyped crowd! To me, that's the complete package of what makes GDQ so fun to watch

Loving the kaizo this year missed it live but wanted to give my Good Vibes to mrmightymouse, markalarm, poo and everyone else behind the scenes. As an inspired mediocre rom maker things like this just completely baffle the mind. Once again Sending all those Good Vibes!! Much love

Didn't know GDQ was back in person, and what a way to find out! Seeing this run in my recommendations. GDQ really isn't the same without a couch.

Once in a blue moon you come across a game that reaches deep down in your psyche to connect with that primal and original feeling of playing video games for the first time. This is what CelesteSMC did to me. It proves once again that a one man army has nothing to envy to multimilion dollar budget games. The ingeniosity and quality that MarkAlarm dropped in that game is off the chart. Mark deserves all the credits that is due (and given) to him for the incredible amount of work he put into the jewel that is CelesteSMC.
Furthermore, you don't come across such a great couch and such an incredible runner every day. So glad this game was showcased at GDQ. Even more so to see it commented by none other than the creator of the game himself.

Got sick and couldn't make the event. This was supposed to be a race but ended up just being a speedrun.
Can anyone explain to me wat She/They means? Is she a woman when spoken to directly, but non-binary when spoken to in the 3rd person? I'm confused.
no, its just means you can call her/them either pronoun
It just means you can refer to her as either she or they.
