The guerra version of PO49 is significantly browner and less orange than the more typical PO49 used to make paint before it was discontinued. There are comparison swatches on Jane Blundell's website.

you can turn it into a sort of oil paint by using tempera grassa. Tempera grassa is a medium from the renaissance that uses both egg yolk and linseed oil and dilutes with water.

That is super interesting. I love seeing all the explanations for how color works.

I asked for this to be uploaded, thank you so much for doing so!
I was also wondering about your Colordisk version 3. (Like all printable colourdisks) it says that it cannot be correctly printed with CMYK printers. Because it has the pigments codes on it, I was wondering if it was possible to paint the correct colorwheel with those pigments. That would ensure the colours are actually correct right? Have you done such a thing?
Thank you for all your awesome videos!!

Yes, painting your own swatches at the pigment positions would give you a more accurate picture. I haven't tried that, but I have been toying with the idea of releasing a paint-your-own version!

Watercolor pigment nerd given hope because suspended in water isn’t actually a problem that can’t be solved.

I’ve always called orange bright brown, it’s one of my favorite colors and I also love brown so I consider it a compliment 😂
    Ty for proving me right!

It's by Bruce MacEvoy. Google "cwheel06" and you'll find it

Check the label, though. If it's not PO49, it's not quin gold. Most brands have introduced substitutes.

Quin Gold now is often PO 48 or a mix

Hi! Can I PLEASE somehow send you a color that's my favorite color but I rarely find it produced anywhere and would love to see you try to figure out what it is composed of and the HTML code/percentage of the primary colors it's made out of so I can save it forever...? I would describe it as a bright, pure blue but nothing I try to find on the color spectrum makes that color I love. 🥹 I took a pic at a clothing store that is the best representation.

Shoot me an email through my linktree form, I'll reply and you can send an attachment? Can't promise I can ID it of course :)
