This final boss fight feels like Sun Wukong is conducting a brutal interview himself on the new candidates who came to substitute Wukong role and position.
Yeah and he gave back the gourd and the staff when he could easily finish off the Destined One. Man, it feels like an honor getting taught and trained by Wukong, those little interactions really brings him to life and it’s so beautiful.

To the ones who may be confused about the plot, the original Wukong who is the final boss valued his freedom above all, but was tricked to put on that golden band in the video around his head that he CANNOT take off. The Buddha would tighten the band and make him very painful whenever he disobeys. So he chose to die and spread his relics. In this way, the destined one, who is the player, would collect all his relics, obtain all his memory and skills and essentially make him reincarnate WITHOUT the golden band. The end shown in this video is actually the bad ending because we chose to put on the gold band again. There is another ending where the player do not put on the golden band once more.
Its not actually a chosen ending. Its deeper than that. Only players who has finished all the side quest and mini boss would get the other ending, it means that to reach freedom you have to find work hard or smth like that. Its also to prevent speedrunners to get to that good ending
no this video is the true ending, after destined one open his eyes we got to animation cut scene and i assume the destined one reject that band, in bad ending the destined one isn't move his head like that and the elder put back his band and we don't get the animation cut scene..

wukong's mind sense seems to be split apart to both erlang's eye (wukong's memories) and broken shell (wukong's experience)
old monkey is a liar, whose mission was to grow a monkey that would possess everything wukong had, but serve the court once more, as it wouldnt know everything
in the final moments player gets two endings:
1. bad - old monkey puts buddha's circlet on the successor, he becomes court's servant, meaning wukong's suicide (no one could kill wukong but himself) was for nothing
2. good - successor knows everything and rejects the circlet, his eyes glows , that means "wukong" is finally free.
ending depends on one circumstance - did player actually win against erlang before entering "wukong's memories" or not.
@@l31zon2 You only need to beat Erlang's brothers and their guiding secret bosses: the White Snake which lead to the Golden big head (Chapter 1), the Drunk Pig which lead to the Giant Bug (Chapter 2) , the Treasure Hunter Goat in Melon field (Chapter 3), the Mutiple arm Centipede which lead to the Skeleton Rooster boss (Chapter 4), and finally the Bull NPC which lead to Bull Demon King's Beast (Chapter 5), to unlock hidden place (pagoda) of Erlang at chap 3 to have true ending.

As a 65 year old following the tale of Sun Wukong. Black Myth Wukong is post era of Journey to the West. When I was young kiddo it is all about Journey to the West. It is a tale almost every Chinese would know Sun Wukong more than Bruce Lee.

The game developers are genius 👏 👌🏽 they knew we players were gonna try to use the healing potion. This is 🔥 🔥 🔥 mind-blowing and dope.
At the end of the game, the Destined One regains some of WuKong's memories while holding all five relic pieces. However, the old monkey reveals that the final relic piece-WuKong's lost memories or mind-is still missing. If players unlock all secrets and defeat ErLang Shen on the secret mountain, the true ending reveals that the Destined One retrieves this final memory. This memory recounts WuKong's journey to the West in an anime style, starting from the end of the story and moving backward.
In the true ending, just before the crown is placed on him, the Destined One transforms back into Sun WuKong, now fully restored with all six relics and free from the gods' control. The crown, created by Buddha and placed by Guan Yin, was meant to control WuKong, but his desire for freedom led him to gamble his life to escape this control. The Destined One, revealed to be a clone of WuKong, succeeds in freeing himself and now lives independently, no longer bound by the gods.
The game concludes with WuKong victorious, now free of the crown and fully himself, as the Celestial Symphony plays a powerful rendition of the classic Journey to the West theme. While the game offers a dark, twisted new story for WuKong, some iconic elements like his cape and epic battles are missing, but it still does justice to this beloved childhood hero.
@@thecreativearcadebyhiro this is just a bus stop, not the actual ending. Leakers tells that Game science planned to released this game with 11 chapter in total instead of 6. They cut the chapters due to lack of funds. They'll expand this game in 2025 February. This is why the chapters six was titled "unfinished"

Here's my understanding about the ending: If you’ve read Harry Potter, it would be much easier.
The 5 relics are like 5 horcruxes, each contains a part of Wukong’s soul, which shattered as he died. However in Chinese-Buddhism, one’s soul should have 6 pieces, the sixth and biggest part of Wukong’s soul fell into the circle of life, and was reborn as the Destined One.
The Destined One is the last Horcrux of Wukong. (Many monkeys have tried, but only one really has Wukong's soul, thats why people keep saying "this time should be the right guy")
When the Destined One collects and absorbs all 5 relics, his soul will be 100% Wukong’s soul, he will literally become Wukong on earth.
Bad ending: You did not finish all side quests, you did not learn enough about him, you, and the world. So you failed to awake the Wukong within you. You die, and the circle of life will bring the next Destined One to success Wukong’s will.
Good ending: You finished all side quests, successfully merged Wukong’s soul and synchronized. He is awake. The ending animate, the Journey to the West runs backward, meaning all the memories of Wukong are coming back to your head. You were Wukong in your last life, he intentionally died so he can get rid of the binding circlet that stuck on his head. Now, you are him, you finally remember who you were, and your purpose. Now, what will you do?
Not correct. The Destined One is not a part of Wukong at all, and the final relic is the Mind, not the Soul.
We only had 5 of the 6 relics of the Great Sage by the time we got to the Stone Egg. The final relic, The Mind, is the Dharma Chakra that falls from the Stone Monkey as it dies. You cannot fully incarnate Sun Wukong without all 6 of his senses: Sight (the bird), sound (the bell), smell (the fish), taste (the honeycomb), body (the two-headed pig), and mind (the Dharma Chakra). The old monkey and Zhu Bajie discuss this during the boat ride out to the Stone Monkey.
Now here's the twist: the final relic, being the Dharma Chakra, contains Wukong's mind and memories, so when it's placed onto his head it completes the reincarnation... but it continues the cycle of Wukong being a slave to the gods and Buddha, since he still has the headband to shackle him as it did in the beginning. That was also why Erlang looks so disappointed as he kills Wukong.
The secret ending is essentially a loophole. If you read Erlang Shen's journal entry, you find out that Erlang has been visiting the stone egg in secret, and copied the essence of Wukong's mind into his Third Eye from it. When you defeat Erlang, the eye opens and fills the Destined One with Wukong's memories, essentially giving him the final Sense without the need of the Dharma Chakra. Watch closely with the true ending and you'll see: The Destined One never put the headband on, because before it could be placed onto his head the memories of Wukong were already present in his mind.
Erlang did this in order to help Wukong break free from the headband. The Destined One, now possessing Wukong's Mind, doesn't need to put the headband on in order to become the next Wukong. So the Destined One is now Wukong freed from his shackles.
@@趙枕風 both of you were incorrect, those weren't really an actual endings. The leakers founds out that there was 11 chapter in total instead of 6, game science decide to cut it due to lack of funds. They decide to expanded their game in 2025 February. This is why this chapter was called "Unfinished" as wukongs freedom doesnt end there.
I'm surprised no one got a cut scene for the pillar stand heavy attack. When you are trying to land a fully charged hit, and Wukong grabs your staff and smack you with it to the ground few times Lol.
After this game, you guys deserve to traveling to China to explore the real places they made this game, you will have more followers, that would be fun ;)

When Wukong does that mid-air teleporting combo move on you, and then kicks your staff back to you with a “come at me gesture”, all I can hear in my head was TFS Abridged Popo “pick that up”
This final boss is so amazingly hype
Fyi, the last phase contain a lot of counter to the player's attack, base on your habit of spamming some moves over and over again, devs actually added 4-5 counters to punish your habit 👌 W devs, for examples: if you use the Vertical smash too often, Wukong will catch your Bang and smack you to the ground, or you heal when his hand lefty is on point, he will stabilize you and punish your gourd just like in the video

This is the first time I had a smile all the way through the combat while being brutally beaten and one-upped by a boss. What an amazingly cool fight.

As a non gamer which stumbled upon black myth Wukong 4 years ago. Upon the games release i have been watching gamers stream playing thid game and getting all emotional and teary about Wukong 😭. It is literally my childhood hero

This is bad ending, Wukong planned all this to reincarnate to get rip off the headband, in this ending , the headband is on the player against and become the lap dog of heaven again and again until the good ending

No, the old monkey was lying, he’s probably an agent of the Court. Wukong’s Mind isn’t the main character, nor is it gone like he has said, it’s within Erlang Shen’s third eye, who is a secret boss. If you manage to retrieve it, you get the true ending here where Sun Wukong rejects the headband and is well and truly back.

He is the true wukong. After beating the game three time with all good ending (beating erlang) in your 4th new game. The Monkey we play will have the moveset of the last boss, full moveset, even say something like "I am sun wukong" when entering battle.

This game is going to be another game like Skyrim for me i think I'm going to keep playing even after I've got the platinum, its just that good I've made it through all the chapter's and beat the final boss I'm currently on my second play through and I'm still learning new things.

As far as I understand it, the "egg" is actually a stone - the original state of Wukong. It only evolved into a monkey king after thousands of years of "practice". That is why Wukong is also called the "stone monkey". When it was "killed" at the beginning of this game, he just returned to his original state. In Chinese folklore, all kinds of things can become a "demon" through practice, and may, depend on their levels of practice, possess magic to transform themselves into human or other forms. Eventually they may be elevated to become a celestial being.

Guys, there is a second ending story, a higher revealing of Wukong's nature. You'd better not miss it after finding this easier one.
A third exit, which is assumed to lead us to a Havoc in Heaven story, is said to be hidden somewhere and hence the entry to a Black Myth 2.

It did heal him. It just not that much. I think it heal based on how much it would heal us. But the boss has so much more HP. 40% of our is just a little amount to him.
